I think that we should hold off a little while longer. I think that lists like the New York and Houston lists will simply not pass with so many redlinks; I have so far received two comments (not opposes, though) in the Detroit list's second nom about two redlinks (the only ones in the entire article) in the timeline section. I think we should hold off on all lists until there are only about 5 to 10% redlinks in all entries, and I am still concerned about the completeness of the Dubai list. Specifically, which ones were you thinking? Hong Kong, Dubai, Seattle, Las Vegas ... ?

Also, one a side note, you may have noticed that the Polish Wiki's version of the New York building list goes all the way down to 150 m. Are you still against expansion? I remain undecided. Cheers, Rai-me 03:35, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you as well! Unfortunately, I think I will be fairly busy up until about December 20, so you may have to go on overtime for a few days without me. But it sounds like a great idea; Detroit has been the first building list to have been nominated and promoted at FLC in awhile, but there a definitely several that are very close. I was hoping to do some minor work on the Dubai list over the next few days and nominate that list first. Then we can definitely get to Hong Kong and New York City. Oh, and I now completely agee about your anti-expansion stance for the New York list; it would be too long to manage. I think we should leave New York at 600 ft, only because all other American lists are measured by a set count in feet, not meters. But 180 m sounds good for Dubai; I have already consulted Leitmanp about it. I am really not sure about the building inclusion issue for Dubai; in the past, as you know, adding the asterisk and stating "information regarding height... has not yet been released". Glad to hear that you are finished with your exams. Very little occurred while you were gone; as you already know, the Detroit list passed and the Dubai list is now at FLC, but that is about it. Other than that, I also nominated the Miami and San Francisco building lists at WP:LOTD.

I unfortunately will be pretty busy for most of next week, so you will have to go into "overdrive" without me until the 20th or the 21st. But what lists do you think we should work on next? The Hong Kong, New York City, Houston, Seattle, and Las Vegas lists all seem to be almost ready for nomination at FLC. Comments? I will be free for the next two days only, so perhaps we can work now and try and get one list nominated.

Oh, and thank you for removing the image on the Providence list; I guess I just completely forgot to remnove the image and update the lead after the project was canceled.

Look at how many changes I made in that edit...I obviously didn't cut you out on purpose...so don't act like you thought I did. Hello, I noticed that you rated the article Dromore Castle as Start class, which I think is quite reasonable - however, as the original creator of this article, I'd been keen to improve it, and so I was wondering what kind of thing you'd be looking for in order to see it rise higher than that? I am sorry to respond so late. I may be able to get a picture of the power line in Ayer as I am going to Boston in a few weeks. Electrical infrastructure isn't really one of my interests, but I am glad to assist in your FA quest. I live several hours away from Upstate New York and Montreal, and truthfully I have only been to each of those places twice before, so I doubt that I will be able to go get pictures of those power lines. And unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the ice storm; it didn't strike Massachusetts or Rhode Island. Sorry that I cannot be of more assistance.

My sentiments exactly for WP:DUBAI. I think a COTM is definitely in order. Thanks for creating the project banner as well, but I have one question: do you think this image or this image is more appropriate to use? Leitmanp is not in favor of using the former.

As for the building lists, there are still a few more U.S. cities which I think should have them (i.e. some of the ones on the Polish Wikipedia). But I think right now I am going to focus on article creation for the FTD over the creation of new lists, then maybe try to improve the British building lists. Do you think we should bring the London list to current WP:SKY building list standards. Right now, I'd say it is pretty far below them, and could use some improvement (particularly with references, table format and the lead), I've debated changing it or bringing it up on the talk page for awhile, as there are probably many primary editors who prefer to keep it the way it is. Okay, I just recently got back from Boston, but unfortunately was not able to travel to Ayer and get any pictures. I am very sorry: I was only there for 3 days, and only left Boston once to go to Cambridge. However, I do live relatively close, so I may be able to get some pictures in April when I go back. Again, I am very sorry; I was originally planning to spend the entire week there, but my trip was shortened to 3 days. 1 and 2.

I didn't realize exactly how many of the buildings created for the FL pass of List of tallest buildings in Dubai were in the same complexes. We really don't need to have separate articles for buildings in the same complex; would you be in support of merging them? Another editor has expressed concern here about the "messy" status of the Dubai buildings category and the articles in general, and I have to say I agree. There is no need to have several stubs when they can all be covered by one large, well-referenced article. Example - Jumeirah Lake Towers can cover every building in the large complex, instead of having separate pages for Jumeirah Lake Apartments, Jumeirah Lake Offices, Anantara Hotel, etc. Comments? H.I., I was unsure whether to change its status also. There are rumors that the location of the tower was moved from Dubai Waterfront to a location near Dubai Marina. This new site has not officially been announced by the developer (Nakheel). Piling has begun at this new site, but since Nakheel has not announced anything, I do not think we can change the status to under construction. According to this story, Nakheel said "work had been done on site and an official launch was planned in March." In addition to the change in location, many people believe that the height and design have changed. We should probably wait until Nakheel makes its official statement in March, or until Emporis changes the status, before we do anything. Leitmanp (talk | contributions) 02:13, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

I concur; with a project as large as Al Burj that will become the WTB upon completion, there should be adequate coverage of its construction. However, since Emporis has not even changed its status to approved, let alone under construction, I say we should hold off a little longer. I think we should count each tower as a seperate building/skyscraper. I believe that just because several towers share a podium, that does not mean they are one building (so, Sorrento would be five skyscrapers and not just one). But, this depends on the height of the podium and its relation to the size of the buildings on top of it. And yes, there are several complexes in Dubai where buildings share the same podium. I agree; I think that we should count skyscrapers in a city as separate structures, even if they stand on one podium. This seems to be a pretty widely accepted standard, and not used only by Emporis; almost every source I read states that Hong Kong has more skyscrapers than New York City.
