File:Samuel Salazar-Diaz 1.jpg
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically User:IShowSammy, may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:28, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi IShowSammy. There are several problems with File:Samuel Salazar-Diaz 1.jpg that have to do with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy: more specifically, this file fails non-free content use criterion #1 and non-free content use criterion #9. Non-free content can only be used in the articles per criterion #9; it can't be used on user pages or subpages in your user namespace as explained WP:UP#Non-free files. So, even if the file was OK as licensed, you would be able to use it on the pages you're were using it. In addition, non-free photos of living people are pretty much never allowed per WP:FREER; so, even if tried to use the photo in an actual Wikipedia article, you still would be able to do so per criterion #1.In general, the only type of images that can be used on user pages are ones licensed in accordance with WP:COPY#Guidelines for images and other media files. If you would like to upload an image of you yourself to use on your Wikipedia user page, please take a look at Wikipedia:A picture of you for some general information. Please understand that the person who takes a photo is typically considered to be its copyright holder and only that person can release their photo under the type of license that's free enough for Wikipedia's purpose. So, if you didn't take this photo yourself, you will need to provide Wikipedia with some formal way of verifying the WP:CONSENT of the person who did; otherwise, Wikipedia won't be able to keep the photo. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:41, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: User talk:Wikisam240
Hello IShowSammy. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User talk:Wikisam240, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: the previous name of a renamed user. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 03:52, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
- But this is a talk page of a non-existent user. IShowSammy (talk) 01:52, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- Please read the template you are applying. It
excludes userpages for anonymous users who have edited, redirects from misspellings of an established user's userpage, and the previous name of a renamed user.
This is the previous name of a renamed user, so it is excluded. jlwoodwa (talk) 01:56, 9 April 2026 (UTC)- No problem, I will make sure next time. IShowSammy (talk) 01:57, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:WA-WSDOT-SR99-HD.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:WA-WSDOT-SR99-HD.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jay8g [V•T•E] 02:52, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
- In the rationale, it states that it is under the CC-BY-NC-ND license as per the WSDOT, and "free alternatives" are a violation of this license as they are derivatives. Wikisam240 (talk) 14:11, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to CarPlay, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. CarPlay photo
You seem intent on using your own photo of CarPlay in the relevant article, even though it is of lesser quality and composition than the one that was in the article previously. Why is that? Discuss on the relevant talk page if you think yours should indeed by included. Seasider53 (talk) 12:40, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Palabristas-logo.png

Thanks for uploading File:Palabristas-logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:39, 9 February 2026 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:ICEBlock app icon.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:ICEBlock app icon.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under the non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:2405:9800:B950:711E:41BE:E6EE:6A14:3F14, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Don't blank other users' talk pages. Sugar Tax (talk) 00:10, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
Disruptive user-page
Having a "banned" notice on your user-pages (enwiki and commons) is disruptive. It mis-represents an action (or lack thereof) of WMF, and it incorrectly places you in (and analogously on commons). Please remove that banner. DMacks (talk) 18:48, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hello DMacks, I'll look into this further. However, did you read the notice below saying this was not actually performed by the WMF and is intended to be funny? Wikisam240 (talk) 20:28, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

Please do not introduce links to draft articles in actual articles, as you did to RSC. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. LaffyTaffer💬(she/they) 19:17, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Terry Crews, you may be blocked from editing. RachelTensions (talk) 01:47, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
