Equi-integrability
Hi,
This is to let you know that I've just reverted your edit on Uniform integrability.
I understand that the definition given by the authors quoted by @Jevan may not coincide with that of Hunt in the infinite-measure case. But since that definition coincides with Definition A from the Wikipedia article and some authors such as Royden thought it was relevant to mention that [not a verbatim quote] "some people use equi-integrability for uniform integrability", Jevan's edit (1) made sense to me and (2) is conform to Wikipedia's policies.
Therefore, if you think that uniform integrability and equi-integrability are to genuinely different notions (and not just different names for the same general idea, albeit sometimes formalized differently and thus resulting in non-equivalent mathematical notions), you should argue why. I think the talk page of the article is the best place for this.
And, for the record: I'm completely open to have this discussion; I personally had never heard the term "equi-integrability" before, so I really do not have any opinion regarding it should be mentioned or not — I'm really just looking at sources quoted by other editors and trying to apply Wikipedia policies, and I'm looking forward to hearing your arguments.
Cheers,
