Because we have a long history with the vandal that does these page moves. Unless the pages are moveprotected, he returns to them over and over again. He has proven this pattern of behavior enough times that I don't think we need to wait for him to move every page twice. Also, these targets are invariably well-established articles where a change of the article title would be exceedingly unlikely -- Utopia is a good example. Nominator's rationale: Rename. More accurate name, and consistent with other "civil parishes in" categories. "Parish" has different meanings in different localities. All categories should be clear if they contain civil (or geographical) parishes or church parishes. Note that this discussion of the same question (closed to divide the question) resulted in 5 Support rename votes, 1 Oppose vote, and 2 that abstained on most categories. There were reasons why the article was made a redirect before, and those reasons still apply now. First and foremost, the article violates WP:GAMEGUIDE and WP:GAMECRUFT, not to mention it lacked any reliable and verifiable sources. NZ is a mode, not a separate game, so anything of importance about it should be in the Call of Duty: World at War article. Then there is the notability issue, which likewise discourages allowing NZ as a separate article. Reading through what was there, it was nothing more than original research and fan-collected material (description of how the NZ level resembled another multiplayer level, lists of playable weapons, etc.). The section on NZ in the CoD:WaW article can be expanded with some of what was there, but Wikipedia isn't the Call of Duty Wiki or a general game guide. -- Commdor {Talk} 19:39, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, thanks. The article's not supposed to get too detailed, so it's better to tell the storyline, rather than individual events that happen several times in the game e.g. killing soldiers, clearing out MG bunkers etc, as well as the weapons included. Thanks for commenting. And, I'll try using this website which appears to be official, about the museum and gallery being located there. Offhand, i think a couple uses like this establishes that Drake Circus is a location not always meaning the shopping center. But we'll see. Hi, please excuse any problems I might have caused in regards to that user on the article about February snowfall in the UK by asking whether or not 10 inches of snowfall in itself is notable. Hi, I noticed that you put a speedy deletion tag on Drake circus (lowercase c). Why did you tag it for Speedy Deletion? The redirect is acceptable per Wikipedia:Redirects#Spellings, misspellings, tenses and capitalisations. And it just could be redirected to to the Drake Circus disambiguation page. I'm concerned that it might be edited i.e. changed to redirecting to something else or someone might start developing their own article on it. We don't need it as Wikipedia's software mean that you don't need capital letters. For example, type (or copy and paste) in drake circus shopping centre (all lower-case) and it will take you to Drake Circus Shopping Centre without any redirects necessary. The snowfall isn't connected to global warming etc. Global warming can't affect the weather just general trends in temperature. By having those links in the see also section Wikipedia is insinuating that global warming had something to do with the event, which is original research and POV. I need you to understand that my aim is to learn as much as I can about the processes involved and so as long as you don't mind me asking questions a lot then I would really appreciate your help on this.

I lack knowledge of the way certain tasks are performed in Wikiworld, such as the collection of info from tags, although my training is in systems analysis, so I pick things up (sometimes lol) fairly quickly.

I would like to start by spending a couple of days looking over your Devon page and then get back to you over next two days if thats ok ?

I notice that you tagged the page File:Drake-circus-1.jpg for speedy deletion with the reason "image which has been tagged and the uploader notified for more than 7 days as showing no evidence that the copyright holder has released it under the license indicated by the uploader". While that's a valid reason for speedy deletion in general, this page does not qualify for speedy deletion under that criterion because the image has not been tagged for seven days, and in any case the uploader claims to be the copyright holder and does not need to provide further evidence of that. If you still want the page to be deleted, please consider tagging it with a speedy deletion template which does apply, redirecting it to another page, or using the WP:FFD process. Thanks! You recently commented on a [image candidate] of mine and had something to say about capitalization in the filename. It has been my personal convention to name files with only an initial capital letter. I am still new to Commons, so if there is a different standard convention I ought to use, I would appreciate your pointing me in the correct direction to read about the issue. Ok, I missed that part of the GA review, but even before I got there, I would have agreed that the plot as it was, even though it mimics the COD4 plot section, was on the repetitive and overly detailed side. Part of it here may be the fact that this is still historically accurate, and thus the three separate characters' missions do not affect each other to any degree, unlike in COD4 where there is a much stronger connection to the story parts and describing it in order makes the story cohesive. For CODWOW, it's convoluted when you present it as such even though they follow the appropriate events in order. But feel free to change it back if you feel it is better that way. --MASEM 21:18, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the award, my first! I used WPDevon as a foundation, because they are similar type projects, to set up Dorset quickly and easily. Some odd sections, because of the wording and links I did copy, but as the project grows we will of course differentiate from WPDevon (although it is a very good project). According to the Topsham Town web site Topsham is a town? http://www.topsham.org/ Do you have a reference that says otherwise?

Devon County Council website says it's part of Exeter local authority, which is a city. You can't have a town within a city. Jolly Ω Janner 22:47, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Well... what you say may well be true, I don't know but the reference doesn't actually say that Topsham isn't a town does it? That is merely your interpretation. I don't think "town" has a technical definition in English local government. The title of "city" is jealously guarded of course, and there are terms like "borough" that only have a technical meaning, or "district" that have both a technical and a more general meaning. But so far as I know "town" has never been an official title, so if anywhere likes to describe itself as a town, and can persuade other people to do so, it probably can (I believe the situation is different in the US, at least in some states). Topsham certainly does come into this category; the local attitude could be summed up as "Fog at Countess Wear - Exeter isolated". seglea (talk) 20:25, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
