You declined this draft, which was first of mine. As I am novice and this is my first project, I don't know what else I have to add to get this draft published. I'll be glad if you kindly mention the points which this draft lacks, so that I may add them before resubmitting next time. Btw, I have found a similar article - Kolaghat Thermal Power Plant High School which had sources and informations much less than this draft during the time of publication (Even currently may have). Thank you in advance.--Michri michri (talk) 13:40, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

  • Hi Michri michri all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). In this case see WP:NSCHOOL and WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES which in summary means most secondary schools are not notable enough to be included. Note that the Other stuff exists is only likely to get other articles that already exist deleted if they are not notable/have the same issues - as such Kolaghat Thermal Power Plant High School is now proposed to be deleted. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 13:49, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
Ok, but please tell me what kind of details I have to add to get the draft published. Please KylieTastic, this is my first project.Michri michri (talk) 13:54, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
Michri michri as I said above "Articles generally require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic" (see WP:42) - so its not about the details to add, but the references to show it is notable rather than just existing. Are there newspaper articles that talk about the school in detail, and notable events that were written about, etc. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 13:57, 24 December 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Sadashib (Fictional Character)

You might have declined my proposal of the article about the school for being non-notable, even I now partially think so, but your decline of the 'Draft:Sadashib (Fictional Character)' really doesn't make any sense, as I think it is of course eligible for being published as an article without an iota of doubt. It is well-cited and contain enough amount of information, more of which will be added soon. If you don't mind, I would say that only a person with a little knowledge in Bengali literature can understand who this fictional character is, even others can by searching it through the web. To be honest, it was really astounding for me that this character did not have an article earlier. Sorry again, please don't review it if I propose it again for publication with even more info. Any advice regarding the development of this draft will be welcomed. Grácias.

  • Hi Michri michri, sorry but Draft:Sadashib (Fictional Character) is not "well-cited" - The first two sources are Wikis - all user-generated content including Wikipedia are not considered reliable sources and in both cases the history shows that are each the work of a single editor with no sources; The third source just returns an error; The others are just recordings of one of the adaptations. Basically there is nothing to show notability for the character as a stand-alone subject. So as before "Articles generally require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic" (see WP:42). The subject "Sadashib" may be notable but from previous deletion discussions many fictional characters just get redirected back to the source content unless there are good independent sources. The author and their work are notable, but each character has to show independent notability. This is why fandom exists (created by the founder of Wikipedia), because there are many subjects fans love and are enthusiastic about but have very little independent reliable sources. Sorry but with zero independent sources no reviewer would accept. Does the topic exist on Bengali Wikipedia (I could not find one) if so does it have sources that can be used, if not maybe they do not consider Sadashib individually notable either. Sorry to disappoint again, but if you want to re-submit and get another opinion you can and I'll leave it too another. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:13, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
Thanks a lot, I will search for more reliable sources. In the meantime, could you please fix the problems the draft has in the notes and reference list, if any?Michri michri (talk) 11:58, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

  • Hey Michri michri I am no expert on all sources and it takes time to assess - for instance I have no clue on kids.kiddle.co as its unclear who writes it. I can say quora.com is generally junk as just user-created content. However, note Wikipedia has a place to ask questions such as this... the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard - you should ask there. Also I did click on a couple and they appears to be more about Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay than the character. However apart from that I'm trying to take a break from Wikipedia after doing over 48,000 edits in 2021. Wishing you a happy 2022, Regards KylieTastic (talk) 12:53, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
I expect you,KylieTastic, to be in the pinnacle of glory and success in the august beginning of the year 2022. I don't have any clear idea about who edits and writes Kindle.co but I know that it is quite safe site. Yes, most of the cited sources deal with the immortal creations of the immortal author, Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, but within those discussions, separate sections are present for this adventure-mongering fictional character. I will ask in Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard as per your advice. But please tell me whether I will remove the previous links from the draft, or they will be kept as they are. Also, kindly tell me what my next step will be before resubmitting this draft for review. Thank you in advance and once again warm greetings for the auspicious beginning of 2022.Michri michri (talk) 17:18, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
  • Hey Michri michri I have removed the unsourced wikis as they would only make others see it negatively. I have fixed another link as archive.org was doing odd things forwarding to a url it then rejected as not valid. The YouTube links are something some would not like as per WP:YOUTUBE it would depend it the videos are copyright violations. As for the next step - if yoou can find enough reliable sources that talk about Sadashib then just add them as best you can and re-submit - however if fining sources proves difficult (as it often does with characters) one option you have is to start by just expanding the section in the main article Sharadindu_Bandyopadhyay#Sadashib. It is now nearly 6PM and I have spent yet another day mostly answering questions, emails, texts, whatsapps, etc.... so I am going to start turning off notifications. All the best, KylieTastic (talk) 17:48, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
Not a bad idea at all, but would not it make the particular section regarding Sadashib much longer as compared to the whole article? Anyway, I shall try it if the resubmission fails (most probably it is going to happen) after citing the newly found sources at their respective places .My last request--- As per your report, most part of the draft seems to be copied from Punchepidea, so I want it to be rewritten before submission to avoid plagiarism issues. Now, I'll remain ever thankful to you if you kindly help me to rewrite it. Please, KylieTastic, this is my last request to your goodself.--Michri michri (talk) 12:15, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction with my suggested article in the wrong language!

John Burder

Please can you explain to me what I need to do and why the page I created was not accepted? I am very new to this. Thanks for your help. I've put many references from publications to newspaper articles FilmsUK (talk) 18:56, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi FilmsUK all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). In this case Wikipedia:Notability (people) is the guideline reviewers would use. Your references are mostly for their own work (the first 11 sources) which is good to verify the claims, but does not help show notability. You need sources that talk about the subject - i.e. John Burder, such as reviews of these books. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:07, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi KylieTastic I have found many other reviews of the books aswell as direct references to Mr Burder's publications within University journals and papers written by highly notable Doctors and University Professors of History. Would this addition make the page accepted? As well as the articles written in The Times and other newspapers about Mr Burder's publications?

  • Hi FilmsUK I'm trying to take a brake from Wikipedia as it's just become a second job - however I will make a couple of quick comments...
First source academia.edu does not talk about the subject John Burder at all
Second source bfi.org.uk lists the films of "John Burder Films" production company - if some of these films where notable, or another couple of sources recognised these as an improtant body of work that would make them notable per WP:FILMMAKER. However even a google of "The Abc of Safety Signs" only returns this single link.
Third thetimes.co.uk is a very reliable source but I do not have access to the whole article, but what I can see it is about "Claude Burder" but does it have any depth to the coverage of John Burder
Forth churchtimes.co.uk does not talk about the subject John Burder at all
Fifth - no amazon reviews are not a valid source - and having just four everyday people say they like your book is not the level of note required for an Encyclopedic entry. Also I would expect some to be friends, family etc and not independent (WP:INDY)
Sixth - junk source can not be used - see WP:DAILYMAIL - Which is a pity as I cant see how even the daily mail could spin and distort this topic and if published anywhere else this would have been good, but due to so many issues Wikipedia depreciated it as a source and per WP:DAILYMAIL "the Daily Mail should not be used for determining notability"
Seventh - this is OK however direct quotes are not independent so not used for notability leaving not much left. Also this appears to be local news about a Bournemouth resident of interest.
As such no there appears not to be anywhere near enough to show notability. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:56, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Malaysia is no longer 13 states!

https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/2021/12/14/dewan-rakyat-finally-passes-key-constitutional-amendments-to-recognise-ma63/2028384

why should you revert the Sarawak content? Kititto (talk) 11:51, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

Clause 2 of Article 1 of the Federal Constitution to state that the states of the Federation comprises:

(a) the states of Malaya, namely Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Selangor and Terengganu; and

(b) the Borneo states of Sabah and Sarawak. Kititto (talk) 12:00, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Kititto I reverted because your change were unsourced. Also from that source above: “This is about the recognition of Sabah and Sarawak as the states in Malaysia — with a difference,” the minister said. The source indicates that they are still states just with extra recognition. Nothing in that source says that they are not still states in Malaysia, as your latest edit also agrees with. KylieTastic (talk) 12:31, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

of course still "state", but with different definition, as the English word "state" has a lot of meaning: a nation, a sub-nation entity, a sub-federation sub-nation entity.

thus, using the term "13 states" only classified under same standard, which is no longer the case after the amendment of the bill.

If still the same, Malaysia Parliament won't even need to amend the constitution. Kititto (talk) 12:38, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

In the spirit of MA63, Sabah and Sarawak only signed agreement with the Malaya. Kititto (talk) 12:41, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

the keyword is: "equal partners": Malaya, Sabah (north borneo), Sarawak, and Singapore (which was expelled after). Kititto (talk) 12:42, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

https://www.theborneopost.com/2021/04/02/muhyiddin-calls-sarawak-a-region-malaysias-model-of-unity/ Kititto (talk) 12:47, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

Name, States and territories of the Federation 1. (1) The Federation shall be known, in Malay and in English, by the name Malaysia. (2) The States of the Federation shall be Johore, Kedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Perlis, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Terengganu.

the above is how it looks like before the amendment. Kititto (talk) 12:51, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Kititto it still seams like word-play and if you are saying that the word state in "largest among the 13 states" and "largest state in Malaysia" mean different things then that should be made clearer to the readers. Your theborneopost.com link above though does make it clear that Muhyiddin Yassin wanted some differentiation. Also as you have now added the source for the new amendment that is fine now. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:11, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

look at the release date, and the time line. Kititto (talk) 00:12, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Muhyyddin statement come before the amendment which is the latest development. Kititto (talk) 00:13, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

it is not "clear" and misleading to state "13 state" as the state of the states of Malaysia Federation, which should be understand as the states Malaya Federation - Sabah - Sarawak.

The hierarchy is: Malaysia Federation - Malaya Federation - - Johore - - Selangor - - ... - Sabah - Sarawak Kititto (talk) 00:16, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

If your overseer of the page Sarawak...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/19th_Sarawak_State_Legislative_Assembly

this is the latest update on government of Sarawak.

I'm not a savvy wikipedian, thus, don't know how to import this info to the page. Kititto (talk) 13:07, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Kititto no I am not an overseer of any page, all editors are 'equal' but some do have extra permissions, but in general it's just about complying to the guidelines. Editors can "watch" a page for changes if they are interested and Sarawak currently has 163 watching it. I only noticed the page due to the vandalism done after your edits claiming it was now the "Federal Republic of Sarawak" which returned zero google hits. If you think there is content on 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly that should be added to Sarawak I assume you mean the Sarawak#Politics section you could ask the Skyalar who updated that article last or ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse, or I may have a look if I get time. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:22, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

It was not me who made such change "Federal Republic of Sarawak". I only insist on fact. Kititto (talk) 00:20, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

By the way, thank you so much for guiding me on wikipedia editing. Kititto (talk) 05:41, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Kititto I meant the vandalism was done by the editor who edited after your edit Wilhelmina Julia - I did not mean that you had anything to do with the "Federal Republic of Sarawak" edits. KylieTastic (talk) 10:28, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for clearing the air, @KylieTastic. Kititto (talk) 11:00, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Deletion of photo Julian Lloyd Webber with Sir Arthur Bliss

Dear KylieTastic. I don't really understand why this is necessary. It is a photo of historical interest and I am its copyright holder. There are two other photos - also my copyright - which have recently been deleted from Julian Lloyd Webber's page which makes it less informative as a result. Thanks for your consideration.  Preceding unsigned comment added by GHOUSE68 (talkcontribs) 08:37, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi GHOUSE68 firstly they have not been deleted from the "Julian Lloyd Webber's page" but were deleted from our media sister project Wikimedia Commons. all I can tell as I am not an administrator on commons, so all I can see of the file File:Sir Arthur Bliss and Julian Lloyd webber.jpg is the deletion reason "Media missing permission as of 11 December 2021)". From your talk page on commons c:User talk:GHOUSE68 I saw no notice so it looks like you did not upload, and so yes I then found the notices on c:User talk:Cocolinmichela. If you took the images and own the copyright then you should have uploaded them not Cocolinmichela who appears to have a history of copyright issues, also fails to understand what Wikipedia is - which is an Encyclopedia not a social media site where "right to choose what photos go on HIS OWN Wikipedia page". They have another file File:Stephane Grappelli with cellist Julian Lloyd Webber in 1981.jpg up for deletion. They also do not understand our Wikipedia:Conflict of interest policies and have failed to WP:DISCLOSE there connection to the subject, which I assume you also have. As for the images, if you do own the copyright then upload them yourselves on commons (c:Special:UploadWizard) and clearly state they you do own the copyright - however if these have been previously published this could be challenged (as a lot of random people just claim copyright) so you may have to use the "Interactive Release Generator" (c:Commons:Wikimedia VRT release generator). Another way if the images are already published on your website is to mark them with a suitable 'free' licence we can use see c:Commons:Licensing#Well-known_licenses then that used as the source when uploading. It may seam complex but a large number of people every day try to abuse others copyright, and as copyright is a legal issue it is taken seriously by Wikipedia and Wikimedia. How to add Coords?

Hello,

I saw your recent edit on my draft, i was wondering if i can learn how to add the coordinates to the draft? Jamiebuba (talk) 11:01, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Jamiebuba yes I added {{Coord|13.188567|N|59.498139|W|display=title}} to Draft:Church View, Barbados see Template:Coord for details. However I see you use the visual editor that I don't use but it appears you just start typing {{ it brings up a template form, that you type Coord in to select the template, then I guessed the 1 and 2 args would be 13.188567 and -59.498139. Have a play in your sandbox. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:10, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

HELP

I'm new to Wikipedia and I have no idea what I'm doing. I've created my name, KCNabavi, three times and it's still in red as in available. I posted my bio, but it didn't take, so to speak. I got lost somewhere between "Talk" and "Sandbox"! Any suggestions?  Preceding unsigned comment added by KCNabavi (talkcontribs) 01:14, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi KCNabavi I'm not sure what you mean by your name bing red as User:KCNabavi is blue and your user page exists (see Wikipedia:User pages). User:KCNabavi/sandbox still exists but was rejected as it is not an Encyclopedic article. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Draft:Center for Risk and Reliability

@KylieTastic: I hope you had a great Holiday. I am returning to ask your opinion and support on my recent edits on a draft you have declined. I have increased the coverage and enriched the article with a more reliable source. Also, as a new Wikipedian I usually try to find existing articles similar to the one I am working on to set some references and expectations for myself, and I was using this page Center for reliability research as my reference. I noticed that the page I mentioned has no references at all. So my question is, are there different standards for organizations from outside the US? Thank you very much --Sarouk7 (talk) 21:31, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Sarouk7 yes Center for reliability research is terribly sourced and may not be notable - unfortunately there are still many articles created before we had Articles for creation and Wikipedia:New pages patrol that do not meet the required standards and need improvement or deletion. No there are no different standards for any subject based on location etc. WP:ORG applies to all. If Center for reliability research was submitted to AfC now it would be declined asking for more sources, as it exists someone would need to look for sources etc to improve, or if not found WP:PROD or take to WP:AFD. As for your article I'm not doing much editing at the moment and to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. You could as the later reviewer for input, or use one of the other options in the "Where to get help" link on the submission notice, or try the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Request on 23:32:23, 23 January 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by P gilldhillon

hi, I really can't make out where am going wrong . probably I am unable to get as to how to write about references ..moreover I have tweets and pictures , how to use them to prove the authenticity of my work?

P gilldhillon (talk) 23:32, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi P gilldhillon the style of references makes it very difficult to verify. Also this appears to be an autobiography so also see Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. As the other reviewer pointed out as an author then WP:AUTHOR is the criteria we would use. We have a lot of people trying to use Wikipedia to self-promote so although references do not have to be online, when someone has a clear WP:COI we can't take things on trust. I found a couple of urls for the sources but could not verify more. Sources like this are odd as the PM is involved but the author is only mentioned in passing - and notability is not inherited. I looked and found this but it is content by the subject not by the subject, which if the others were like this would not be helpful as we require independent sources, not what people say about themselves. As Wikipedia:Autobiography says Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is an example of conflict of interest editing and is strongly discouraged, however if you want to continue then start by adding any more actual urls to any of the sources so they can be actually reviewed. To be clear we are not saying the subject is notable or not, just that at the moment the sources are not clear enough to verify an Wikipedia:Autobiography. Deleted some content of IMDb

Dear sir/mam, you had recently deleted some content from my page stating that IMDb is not a reliable source, which is absolutely true according to "WP:IMDb". What about this article:

Provided article is fully based only on IMDb, and no any action is taken. Kindly go and check yourself.

Thank you  Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobe8q8661 (talkcontribs) 09:00, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Bobe8q8661 yes unfortunately there is still a lot of articles created before current procedures that are not compliant with the guidelines. It was created in 2007, but I am surprised no one had tagged it before, so I have tagged as unsourced and notability not shown. I don't have the time at the moment to check for sources to see if it is notable and just unsourced or it it should be sent to WP:AFD for deletion. If you think it fails WP:FILM you can put up for deletion yourself. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:21, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Time (Five album) Draft

I saw someone else create a page for this and had it rejected twice. So I added a bit more to it, but am not quite sure why it keeps getting rejected. What exactly is wrong with it? • Hi, when I last reviewed on the 19th of December there were three sources that did not show how the album met the notability criteria as per WP:NALBUMS. The first source was just a listing, the second did not mention the album. See WP:NALBUMS for what we are looking for, existence is not enough. Question

On my draft, Draft:MaiaSpace, you commented that I need more to prove notability. Need more of what? Sources or more text? StarshipSLS (Talk), (My Contributions) 17:04, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi StarshipSLS well although it could do with more content that is not really a requirement for notability. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Normally three+ really good sources is the minimum that is looked for. It would be good if there is any decent news coverage. Wiki Wisdom

Hi KylieTastic, hope your 2022 is going well.

We are reaching out to learn if you could share some of your Wiki wisdom. We are launching a campaign for more people to edit Wikipedia. We'll be presenting an advance of the project at MozFest between March 7 -11th. Could you share recommendations to get the article reviewed before that date? Many thanks in advance for your consideration!  Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiLAC (talkcontribs) 17:19, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi WikiLAC it's been a tough start to 2022 (lots of real world stuff) hence why I'm taking a break from editing/reviewing. Firstly I have to address an issue... you say "We are", but please note that a Wikipedia account should represent an individual not a group, so if more than one person is using this account all but the primary should stop and create their own accounts. As for Draft:Digital Rights in the Caribbean yes it is in the relative dead zone of not being a new submission or one of the oldest. Such articles can still be picked up when reviewers just select a random article, but most probably because the subject area is of interest. We do have reviewers who have declared interests this but I see no easy matches. I have added some project templates to the talk page that may attract interest. It is also difficult to compare as I see no other articles about "Digital Rights in....". Without reviewing the content I would make some easy comments: The lead is is a bit more essay like than an encyclopedic lead and in unsourced, having a strong clear lead with good sources makes for a much easier accept; One source is a google search which is no good as results change per user and over time - use sources directly. Then lastly apart from just waiting you can try to find interested editors who edit/review similar topics or ask in associated wikiprojects or general areas such as the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:56, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
  • Hola KylieTastic I hope things get better soon! The Wiki edits are the result of an editathon we did with international and Caribbean organisations. Could you please clarify what you mean with "The lead is is a bit more essay like than an encyclopedic lead and in unsourced, having a strong clear lead with good sources makes for a much easier accept": excuse my ignorance, the lead is the intro paragraph? Would it help to include references to Wiki pages dedicated to digital human rights? Also, sorry about the issue with the Google search source. I have corrected that now! Looking forward to your comments to reach out for review to the groups you suggest.
  • Happy Sunday KylieTastic! I have followed your recommendations. Hopefully the article will soon be reviewed. Please share if you have any further advice. Thanks again for all your help!

Draft:Kevin Lee (Actor)

Hi Kylie,

I have been trying to create a page for Kevin lee ( Actor ) for sometime as I am a big fan of his work. He is quite famous in China. Recently he had 2 big articles released all about him. I believe this passes as reliable references. Unfortunately one of the reference was from Breitbart which WIki blocks. I would love to continue working on Kevin's page and if possible to review as soon as convenient. That would be fantastic. Many thanks  Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.97.200.247 (talk) 16:49, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi 103.97.200.247, sorry but firstly I'm not currently active, and secondly to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request. KylieTastic (talk) 18:28, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. • User:Pavan actor TV industry pavan acharya Wikipedia is not a place for people to promote themselves see WP:AUTOBIO. You may think your famous but if their are not reliable sources you probably are not. A google knowledge panel is often just user generated content that I assume you created, as you did with the IMDB page and are trying to here. User generated content is not valid as independent reliable sources. Actually famous people do not have to write about themselves. If you are a successful actor, others will write about you, and if they do someone will probably then create a Wikipedia page. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:37, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Ashlynn Holleran

Hey, just recently made a draft page for one of my friends, it was meant to be a birthday present and I didn't plan on getting it published so it being denied is totally fine although it ended up getting deleted and I don't have any photos or anything to show for it so it ended up being a waste of time. Is there any way I can get it undeleted or have it just denied but not gone because I really put a lot of work into it and I learned how to write the wikipedia source code for it.

Bradleymad14 (talk) 23:41, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
  • Hi Bradleymad14 sorry but it is unlikely the admin that deleted it would undelete for multiple reasons - however you would have to ask them - see the deleted article Draft:Ashlynn Holleran for the deletion information. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:24, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Question for Draft for Kashmir Bylines

Hi, we are a media venture. We have been doing journalism for 3 years now. How is some other media company supposed to write on us? We are a very notable media venture in Kashmir (India), currently. Please, accept our page. Thank you. 2409:4054:12:DAE3:F14F:31C2:6DCF:615 (talk) 16:35, 27 February 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi, it's simple, if you become notable people will write about you, then people can use those sources to write an article. Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia, not social media or a website for promotion. KylieTastic (talk) 16:48, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
@2409:4054:12:DAE3:F14F:31C2:6DCF:615 Hi, I understand. We are not doing it for any promotion (and I don't believe if it would promote us anyway) but just for cataloging our venture in Wikipedia. As a media company, we write about people not the other way around. But if the qualify us to have a Wikipedia page, can you guide us what should be done. Thank you. Attanomy (talk) 06:44, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
  • Attanomy sorry but there is nothing you can do - all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). So all you can do is grow your business and then if successful someday there will be enough independent reliable sources for someone to create an article. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:35, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
@2409:4054:12:DAE3:F14F:31C2:6DCF:615 what are the independent reliable sources in India? Attanomy (talk) 10:02, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
  • Attanomy for the full answer see WP:INDY and WP:RS. In general independent just means not linked to or controlled by the subject (such as your own website). Non independent source can be used for facts, such as the editors, but does not help notability. As for reliable sources that is harder but summarise but major news sources, magazines, etc and established websites. Things not to use are user generated sources (wikis, blogs, IMDB etc) or websites that will publish news for a small fee, or ones that just publish press releases. Question for Draft Nello Petrucci

Hello, I have got my draft refused back in December 2021 as unfrotunately I have made the mistake of uploading the italian version instead of the english once, since then however I have rewrote the text in English and i hope it can be considered now. I would really appreciate any feedback and if there are mistakes that i need to correct. Thank you for your hard work and have a great day! (talk) 12:29, 1 Match 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Estera255 Draft:Nello Petrucci is resubmitted so it will be reviewed by someone at some-point but yet again the backlog has grown to big. To be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next, and I just don't have the time at the moment to be as active as I was. One comment I can make is a couple of sources stand out as not good - firstly IMDB is not a reliable source as it is almost all user-created content see WP:IMDB, also I see a PRNewsWire source and PR is never good for a neutral article. If looks like in both cases these are extra sources, and if the info is covered in others just remove them, if not see if you can replace. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 15:05, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

Request for page approval

Hi KylieTastic, I noticed you rejected a page of mine, Draft:William Valdez, for not having enough citations. I was wondering if you could review and potentially approve a new article I wrote, Draft:Jonathan Meyer, since this is cited much better. If you are unable to, I would be appreciative if you could point me in the right direction to receive a speedy review of the draft. Thanks. Govtnerd (talk) 02:36, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Govtnerd firstly Draft:William Valdez was not rejected just declined in it's submitted form. Also it was not for "not having enough citations" but not having enough to show notability. However just being nominated to a position is not notable on it's own so unless they have done more that has been written about they may not be notable. As for the new one to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, there are currently thousands also waiting. Also I'm not editing much these days as too much real-world to deal with. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:21, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Request on 18:58:45, 9 March 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by Marianampsouza

I need to re-do the list of references and its respective quotations on the text. Also, I need to insert the summary at the beggining of the article. I will try to learn from the editor's manual, so I don't have to bother you with any basic questions. If I do have any problem which I wouldn't be able to solve with the infos on the manual, can I contact you? Thank you for your help! Marianampsouza (talk) 18:58, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Marianampsouza I declined Draft:Process-based therapy back on 23 January 2022‎ as it was blank, it has been changed, re-submitted and reviewed by 4 others since, lastly by Slywriter yesterday. They obviously also made a mistake/typo linking to Extended Evolutionary Meta Model (EEMM) that does not exist, so you may like to ask them what they meant. It's not really my subject area and I'm not editing much at the moment but I do try to answer all questions here. However we have the Wikipedia:Teahouse which is for new editors to ask such questions, especially any general editing questions, and the benefit of asking there is many experienced editors answer questions so you get lots more help that asking an individual. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:26, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi KylieTastic,

I'm trying to upload a logo that I produced onto a new page, similar to the logo of a neighbouring organisation here Porter Brook - Wikipedia, but I keep getting a message 'We could not determine whether this file is suitable for Wikimedia Commons. Please only upload photos that you took yourself with your camera,'

It is saved as a PNG file which is one of the accepted formats - Can you let me know why I'm unable to upload my own work here. RudHill (talk) 08:47, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi RudHill Logs are usually copyrighted and this means that unless it falls under the country of origins Threshold of originality - see c:COM:TOO United Kingdom for the commons guidelines for the UK. So even if you make a new one from scratch it is still often in violation. So with many logos they are normally unloaded locally on Wikipedia rather than commons where we can accept some under fair use WP:FAIRUSE. For instance see the RSPB logo File:Royal Society for the Protection of Birds logo.svg that uses the licence template {{Non-free logo|image has rationale=yes|auto=yes}}. However fair use can not be used in draft and must be used so only upload for accepted articles, but then the easiest way it to go to Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard select the second option "Upload a non-free file" and go though the forms. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:23, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
Thanks, have done that and managed to get it onto the page. RudHill (talk) 09:50, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia Articles

Hellow,

I just got a mail from your side(Wikipedia) that my article about my self(Biography) has been deleted. It’s okay.

But there’s so many people in my touch who is very popular and famous. You can search there names directly on google and YouTube also but there’s no any types of Wikipedia page or article about them.

Now, if I want to create Wikipedia article or page to help you so, will you please tell me that what should I do???

Thank you. Rajput Kirann (talk) 22:25, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Rajput Kirann I declined the article about yourself, and yes it appears an administrator deleted it as self-promotion a couple of hours later. All articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). For some subjects there are additional notes on what the consensus is for notability - again see Wikipedia:Notability. There are lots of people/companies that self promote a lot, so just because you can find them on google, YouTube, social media does not mean they will be notable enough. However, if you know of a subject that you want to write an article for that others have written about then see Help:Your first article for help. Also there is the Wikipedia:Teahouse that is there for new editors to ask questions when starting out. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 22:41, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Request on 22:21:50, 17 March 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by Bmemoret

My entry was rejected for lack of references. I'd like to know if my mistake was being unambitious and writing a minimalist article (just two lines, pointing to the conference's main website for all details). WABI is a yearly academic conference much like ISMB, which (check it out) has a very long Wikipedia entry. Both have been around for over 20 years and both have thousands of citations in the academic literature to the papers presented at the respective conferences. I thought I would just reference the conference's main website, which has links to the various academic sites that held the meetings over the years and to the publishers' sites, which have links to the proceedings, but evidently this was not enough. So my question: should I simply flesh out the article and write a lot more (with suitable references along the way), add the list of past meetings with links to their web pages and links to the proceedings for each year? That's what is in the ISMB wiki article, but I thought it was redundant, as the WABI conference website already does the same job. Obviously, neither conference is much in everyday news, so having an entry in Wikipedia is not for the general public, but a wiki entry is often the first place students will look and I thought WABI should have one for that reason, just as ISMB, RECOMB, and other similar academic conferences. I'll appreciate any advice. Bmemoret (talk) 22:21, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Bmemoret all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia that should inform people, but as stated your submission just gives what we would classify as external links WP:EL for readers to follow after reading the article if interested. If by ISMB you mean Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology you should ignore the list of conferences, what is more important is the lead section and history section, and most importantly backed by independent reliable sources. Thank you!

Hello, KylieTastic,

I just wanted to say "Thank you!" for all of the tireless work you do, reviewing drafts in Draft space and User sandboxes. Every day, as I post notifications to editors about their stale drafts, I see evidence on their talk pages that you have given their efforts your full attention, no matter what condition they are in and that you consistently communicate with them about the status of their pages. Often, I imagine, you aren't the bearer of good news about draft acceptance but the kindness and respect that you show, often posting Welcome messages along with draft decline notices, is just great. You are frequently their first contact with a more experienced editor and I'm thankful that we have folks in the AFC area who treat new editors as potential contributors, not as potential vandals.

If I could get some new page patrollers to also post a Welcome notice or Teahouse invitation along with their templated warnings, I think we'd be doing even better and integrating new editors into the project but that's a long-term project! Thanks again! Liz Read! Talk! 23:06, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

Request on 07:32:38, 27 March 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by Julez202

Hey KylieTastic! Hope all is good and well.. Months ago my first Wikipedia contribution or submission was rejected due to a lck of sources and insufficient information. I have made more than 250 general contributions since, researched, sourced and assisted with multiple projects and pages and would like for you to have a second look at this draft. Any additional feedback or assistance would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much for all you have done for the community so far, very inspiring. Julez202 (talk) 07:32, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Julez202 I see that it has much changed since I last reviewed, however I also see that it has been submitted and declined this morning. You should ask the last reviewer for additional comments if the notice isn't clear. However with just a quick glance many of the sources are the labels own website, and the tiktok link for "BADDIES ONLY" is another example of a very poor source for several reasons: social media is generally an unreliable source; it says no more than linking the band name to the title (no review); and for your case it does not mention UFO Recordz. As HighKing said on the previous review you need an organisation required significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources to show notability - which can be hard for many record labels as people mostly want to write about artists and music and not the label. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:27, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the speedy reply! Gotcha, I'll keep working on it and try to find reliable sources. Wish you an awesome weekend further and will repost back again once I feel I've nailed it. Julez202 (talk) 11:35, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

So not user generated content like Wikis, and more that just passing mentions. Also note that the Wikipedia:Teahouse is also there to help new editors. • Hi Foodisbest all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). You have lots of sources but most are passing mentions, basic listing, many links about students with only passing mentions or no mention at all. It also should not be claimed that the world records of individuals are the organisations (unless they are in which case add sources). For instance this does not only not mention "Future Target Institute" or "FTI" but states that she was "Self-taught". Regards KylieTastic (talk) 15:47, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi, I alreday put a RfC on the Iveco talk page and received positive feedback. The reason lies in the fact that the current Iveco page is a mix between the IVECO (capital) brand and the Iveco Group holding. That is why I am suggesting to create a brand new Group page and edit the brand one. Let me know. Gianmaria V (talk) 10:09, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Gianmaria V (talk) 10:09, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Gianmaria V it's find to use the draft space to work on the article pending the RfC. The normal duration for an RfC is 30 days. However it also does not currently have enough independent reliable sources to show independent notability of the group in my opinion and also by action the original draftification. So I would say let the RfC run a bit longer, and look for some more independent sources for the group that have significant coverage. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 12:12, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Raddaway for something as basic as a publisher steam would be ok, but a source that says that they swapped from one to the other would be better. Also as originally published by Adult Swim rather than just change and masking the history it would be better to change to originally published by Adult Swim then later published by Akupara. Hope that helps, cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:10, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

You made a mistake

On the Noble and Greenough School page you reverted an edit in traditions. I attend the school and it is true and someone keeps removing it from the page. If you could please undo that, it would be greatly appreciated. It is by no means vandalism of any sort. 50.200.185.226 (talk) 17:42, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

  • 50.200.185.226 it was unsourced as most of the article is, frankly at least half of the article should be deleted. KylieTastic (talk) 17:47, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

hello sir tell me the solution to launch the article Ansrv (talk) 18:56, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Ansrv as I said all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). So you need to find and add any independent reliable sources to your article. KylieTastic (talk) 19:34, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Thanks, plus a request

Draft:Acanthobunocephalus_scruggsi is being created by a student of mine in a Biology course; thanks for reviewing it. I suggested that they work out a more complete draft in a sandbox before resubmitting. Their work is due at the end of this week, if you'd care to keep an eye on their next efforts. Thank you. Nice to make your acquaintance. TriNotch (talk)

  • Hi TriNotch, welcome back after a very long break. This is something we see a few times a year, but generally is not considered a good idea. Writing an new article for Wikipedia is considered one of the hardest things to start with, with submitters needing to understand notability, neutrality, sourcing, etc. Since your last edits the guidelines and polices (as I understand) have become more strict, especially as we get so so much promotion, spam, vandalism, copyright violations etc these days. I assume from the first submit your student did of 5 words with no sources they had little comprehension of encyclopedic content vs dictionary entry or the current guidelines for notability or sourceing, although I still fail to understand how they would think 5 words was enough, when I'm sure they would never submit written homework that minimalist. Unfortunately AfC is a good idea but fails in practice as we have too few reviewers for submissions, we cleared the backlog last year but its back to > 2700 and 3 months for the longest waits. We have around 250-300 submission a day with less than 200 active reviews most not doing even 1 review a day. So it is a really bad requirement for students with deadlines, unless the instructors/teachers have pre organised reviewers, or best still they are the reviewers. I deal with a lot of species submissions and relatively new species are hard to source as often all sources lead back to the singular original research (case-in-point I, and probably others, am considering what to do with Draft:Fergana stone loach). "Acanthobunocephalus scruggsi" looks possible, but as it does not yet have a wikidata entry I have not checked all the sources. So yes as someone who deals with this topic area I'm likely to review I would reiterate that as the AfC submission process has no time limits and is at up to 3 months at the moment (See Category:AfC pending submissions by age) and has been up to a horrendous 5 months...so we do consider it unfair on students with deadlines. I do hope that made sense, but I am very very tired. I have left a welcome message for your student and a Wikipedia:Teahouse invite to help them, and will work/life allowing keep an eye out. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:52, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
Yes, the five word edit was just a start; they had intended to come back and add more piecemeal. It was not intended to be a complete submission and does not reflect their comprehension of Wiki guidelines... excepting the New Article guideline, which was indeed added since I was last an active editor, and which we were clearly ignorant of. The deadline issue is not really a problem since I can see the relevant edits and even in the case of rejection they can submit their written work to me for evaluation - they'll still get the grade, and (hopefully) Wikipedia will get a series of useful additions. These are college biology majors so the quality should be decent even if they struggle with some guidelines. I appreciate the feedback and will do what I can to guide them. TriNotch (talk) TriNotch (talk) 01:09, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
  • TriNotch glad to hear this is for students at that level and your involved and not using acceptance as the pass criteria. We unfortunately have had far too many teachers give students the task to create a Wikipedia article with acceptance as the goal and the teachers don't get involved, leaving students begging us to accept or they'll fail there course. I've put a watch on the draft and will try to keep an eye out. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 08:43, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

About Ukraine Siren Alerts app

I added more sources as requested but I don't understand why you marked it as not notable. New articles are posted almost daily on this application and more cite it constantly so I think it follows notability rules. Let me know about your edits

  • Hi BOvcharenko I declined as it only had two main sources (as I missed one of the tweets was not from the subject - my mistake). If "New articles are posted almost daily on this application" then sources will exist, and I see you had added some - thanks. So now that is addressed you can just re-submit (blue button on the decline notice). I'm at work so didn't actually read the new sources, but wanted to answer you quickly so you could get it resubmitted. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 09:02, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
  • BOvcharenko Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. Resubmitted now. Thanks!
  • BOvcharenko Hey, any chance you could take a look and let me know if its good?
  • Hey BOvcharenko, no need another reviewer has already reviewed and accepted. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 08:20, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

Need a feedback!

Dubitoergosum22 (talk) 07:01, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Hi! Lately you've declined my draft "Open Minds Institute" because of the lack of sources. The point is that the organization was created just a month ago because of the war in Ukraine so advertisiment and informational development weren't our main points of view. Thus, there is only the official site and The NY Times article now.

Could you please give me any advice on how to solve this issue?

  • Hi Dubitoergosum22, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). The NYT article does not even mention the "Open Minds Institute" just the "Information Strategies Council of Ukraine". So the only way to "solve this issue" is to wait for enough sources to exist. If they hopefully are successful in their aims they will be written about. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 08:07, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Satanic Bay Area

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Satanic Bay Area requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, society, or group that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Liz Read! Talk! 01:25, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi, just wanted to drop by and say thanks for neutering the categories in a draft I made! I'm still getting a hang of things on here and I appreciate your help fixing my errors. Your first source does not appear to mention the subject or back up the claim; the second is an interview and from her own university so not independent. Hi thanks for reply. I understood about 1st source. What sources should be valid for actors (apart from imdb , interviews)? Reg.AmPm (talk) 14:29, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
A couple example would be of great help Reg.AmPm (talk) 14:30, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Reg.AmPm anything that is independent - so also no wikis or other user generated sources (thus no IMDB) or google knowledge panels. Also avoid social media. Most newspapers/magazines (print or online) or any website that has some editorial standards and/or does independent reviews. Books as well, but probably not many/any for a young actor. Usually such pieces are written once an actor lands a key role. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:43, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Request on 18:49:29, 17 April 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by DemiDuivenvoorden

Hi Kylie,

first of all, thanks a lot for helping me and reviewing my drafts, i do really appreciate all of the effort. I have never published a page before and i'm currently a bit lost. I am by no means connected to Nick Bare, he does not even know me. I am a true fan and i was a bit surprised to find out that he does not have a page on Wikipedia yet, since he is a very influential and famous entrepreneur and athlete. As a thank you i am creating this page for him.

I would love to know more about what in specific i should adjust to make the page come live.

Kylie, again, thanks for all your help and im looking forward to your response!

All the best,Demi

DemiDuivenvoorden (talk) 18:49, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi DemiDuivenvoorden well you've jumped in with one of the hardest things to do - starting a new article from nothing - so don't be disheartened by a couple of declines. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). So things such as YT channels, book listings, interviews, paid promotion etc are not independent reliable sources. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:26, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Shinyodd declined

Would you please tell me what changes I have to make on the Article about Shinyodd?

Greetings from Austria

  • Hi DaewooGamingNK all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). You currently have no sources that help notability. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:34, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

About Draft:How to set up a new page - move to Draft:Archibald Kay?

Hi KylieTastic.

It would appear to me that the intention of the draft article creator was asking how to set up a new page for a Scottish artist of the name Archibald Kay.

I can see that the article Archibald Kay has never been created. The draft asserts that Kay was a member of the Royal Scottish Academy, which would be at the very least an assertion of credible claim of significance.

Major auction houses like Christie's and Bonhams have listed Kay's work for sale.

@KylieTastic and Frederick61: Maybe we could assist the creator of the now drafted article to find reliable sources for verification?. Pete AU aka --10:28, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Shirt58 (talk)

  • Hey Shirt58 I have moved it and left them a note. Ideally it should have been moved to that name when moved from their sandbox. Unfortunately as AfC is constantly overloaded and backlogged, generally if an article is unsourced (and does not look like a copy vio, attack page etc) then it gets declined as unsourced and left to the submitter. If the reviewer does notice such things as being probably notable they'll mention in the comment. I always try to leave a welcome and teahouse invite to give new users a bit of encourage to proceed, but some just never come back :/ I dream of the day we have enough reviewers to do full reviewers and actively work on moving notable drafts out to mainspace, but at 200-300 submissions a day and < 50 reviewers reviewing at least one per day it's not even close to functioning how it should. Hopefully either they will come back to it or someone else will pick it up. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 11:04, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Lena Stamm

Thank you for clarifying things on using IMDb and removing the source for me, I had found conflicting advice about how/if you could use it as a source, but I guess just better safe than sorry and if in doubt, take it out! Didn't mean to rhyme... If there are any other improvements you think I could make so that my page gets published, I would love to hear them. Thanks again!  Preceding unsigned comment added by Daisycat32 (talkcontribs) 10:04, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Daisycat32 as per Wikipedia:Citing IMDb there are very few cases when it can be used, and both when the content is linked back to a reliable sources (Writers Guild of America and Motion Picture Association). I can't remember the last time I saw one of those. Unfortunately people realised anyone can write anything about themselves on IMDB at the same time as the general public do not realise so trust IMDB. You now get lots of people not even vaguely related to film or TV creating a profile there (as well as good knowledge panels, etc) and trying to use them to get onto Wikipedia. In the case of Draft:Lena Stamm her own IMDB page bio here says written by anonymous. Also even when not used for promotion, or just fan written, there are too often mistakes or deliberate errors. We get vandals (fans) editing lists of awards here to incorrect lists of winners, but we have lots of editors working in anti-vandalism, have edit history to check (unlike IMDB), and we require sources (unlike IMDB). So although it started off quite good in general it has become too inaccurate to trust. Also I have seen some reviewers just decline a submission saying IMDB (and others) should be removed first, so I tend to remove myself to help it along. I didn't actually look at the rest as I generally avoid "Biographies of living persons" unless it's an obvious decline. In general (on top of things being well sourced - so you should look at replacements for the IMDB ones) to be notable reviewers look for three good sources (i.e. significant coverage in three+ independent reliable sources). Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:27, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
Right, that makes a lot of sense! I guess I fit into the category of general public as I definitely didn't realise how open it was. I assumed that it was at least vaguely checked/regulated/confirmed by independent moderators. I will work on finding replacement sources, and if I can't I will edit that section to reflect the sources I do have. Thanks so much again for the help and information! :) Daisycat32 (talk) 10:49, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

Inspired by your work on Wikipedia!

Hi KylieTastic, let me introduce myself, I'm PlainCroissant. I am inspired your work on Wikipedia and would be happy to take you as my mentor! I am new to Wikipedia (this is actually my first edit here at your talk page) - so I'd love to get some advice from a more experienced editor regarding what can I do to benefit the community :) Going forward, I am interested in creating articles mainly in the niche of biography of living people (BLP) as well as music related topics. Would appreciate if I can ask a few questions:

- How do I decorate my user page like most of the experienced editors? - How do I customise my signature? - Will it be possible to earn money/make a living through Wikipedia as an editor, article creator, etc..

Do get back anytime, thanks! I wish you have a good day.

Cheers, PlainCroissant (talk) 15:13, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

  • For your user page see Wikipedia:User pages for the full answer, but many start by taking ideas from others user pages and you can search for userboxes at Wikipedia:Userboxes
  • For customising your signature see WP:CUSTOMSIG
  • Lastly and most importantly on earning money.... simple answer NO!. See WP:PAID but 99.999% of us are pure volunteers and many, if not most, have a very negative view of paid editors as usually they don't adhere to policies (notability and neutrality being main issues) and often expect the volunteers to help them get paid. Wikimedia does not pay anyone to edit so the only money is from those who want to use Wikipedia to promote rather than write Encyclopedic content.
Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:13, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

Hey KylieTastic thanks for getting back! Your explanation is concise and clear - it helped me :) Looking forward to see what I can do on Wikipedia and will reach out to you again if I need further assistance. Have a good day ahead! PlainCroissant (talk) 11:13, 22 April 2022 (UTC)

Draft - Dune Drifter

To Kylie Tastic or anyone else. I am a novice drafter on Wikipedia. So let me know if there is anything I need to correct on my Dune Drifter article, and how? Also, I received error messages when I tried to download a JPEG image of a scanned image which I had Snipped to cut out the image that I wanted to save. Should I try using an actual JPEG photograph instead? And how should I entitle the image that is acceptable to the system? So far, I am not able to download an image of the DVD cover for the film. From Patrick Lee, United Kingdom. 24 April 2022. patrick21london  Preceding unsigned comment added by Patrick21london (talkcontribs) 19:54, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Patrick21london all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS) - however for films see Wikipedia:Notability (films). Note when you asked this question it had not been reviewed, so was just waiting, and unfortunately their is a big backlog as there are more submissions than volunteer reviewers. Sorry I don't understand the problem re the image, if you crop and image it could still be a jpeg, however Wikipedia accepts a wide range of formats. Note for copyrighted images such as DVD covers you cannot upload images to out sister project Wikimedia Commons so you have to use the second option at Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard to "Upload a non-free file" and use the "This is a copyrighted, non-free work, but I believe it is Fair Use." option (the image cannot be high res). Draft:Nathan Victory

I am wondering why you didn't nominate Draft:Nathan Victory for deletion, as I just did, rather than simply rejecting it, as you did. —Anomalocaris (talk) 08:39, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Anomalocaris When I saw you had sent to MfD I was going to say that I tend in general to have a higher tolerance to junk in Draft than many and deletion discussions can be a time-sink so unless an article is being tediously resubmitted I tend to leave for G13 to tidy up. However in this case looking again I probably just got distracted as it should have been G11 speedy delete. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 09:15, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

Ruellia affinis

Hi @KylieTastic:, I am sorry for my recent AFC action at Ruellia affinis as when I am accepting this draft at that time I don't see any under review mark on that submission but when I clicked the accept and publishing button your under review mark was just appeared. So, I have no any option to go back as I reviewed this draft. Please consider action and again sorry for that. Fade258 (talk) 08:40, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

  • Hey Fade258 no worries edit conflicts happen, if someone has opened a submitted draft before it is taken off the list by marking as under review this sort of thing will happen. I only marked as I was going to accept but wasn't sure about the "The species is part of the Red List of Threatened Species" claim. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 08:45, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

Famigo Wiki

Hi KylieTastic, I hope you are well.

I created an updated version of Famigo and inadvertently, not intentionally at all, it was deemed vandalism and understandably, taken down.

You and other editors reverted changes to the FAMIGO page found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famigo. I am from Famigo.com and was wondering if we could transition this page from relating to an old, defunct business, to the changes found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Famigo&oldid=1046019315 (or a variation). No matter how we try to optimize our SEO, this old not active history continue to impact our search. I am one of the Famigo engineers and I am familiar with Wiki but I am not an editor and would appreciate very much the guidance.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!  Preceding unsigned comment added by Bossming (talkcontribs) 23:19, 7 May 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Bossming as you have said you work for Famigo see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and noting WP:DISCLOSE which as pointed out on your talk page is mandatory. Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia not a place for companies to promote themselves and old subjects are not removed just because someone wanted to use the name. If your company is notable then the correct way to proceed is to write and submit a draft. I see that their was a draft Draft:Famigo (Arizona company) that was declined twice as "more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia", and then deleted as it was abandoned for over six months. Note that to be 'notable' in Wikipedia terms is set out in Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) but in general this requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Also the article should not be promotional and well sourced. If your company is or become notable and an article exists then it could be valid to swap article names so yours was the primary and the existing moved to Famigo (Texas company), or Famigo could be turned into a disambiguation page pointing to both. However the key to all options is to get an acceptable, non promotional, article accepted (and WP:DISCLOSE). So the question to ask is are their 3+ independent reliable sources with significant coverage about your company to show notability. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:27, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
    Thanks for your guidance.
I can update the metadata to be more clear and remove any potential conflicting comment or advertisement looking comment. Also, would keeping a section about the old famigo company within the new famigo wiki be a possibility? We would be fine with that as well given that the old famigo keep taking our SEO down and even when clicking google info ellipsis it pulls info about the old company.
There are many reliable sources and TV programs with our CEO and team about famigo.
Can I update the info without publishing it for your review and guidance? Bossming (talk) 23:33, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
Kylie, sorry to bother with this second message, I changed the info slightly on this version. Would this be reasonable? (I published it for a split second by accident but I reversed it right away.)
    https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Famigo&oldid=1086887885
Also, there is a comment at Talk:Famigo about close status of previous famigo.
Thank you for your help Bossming (talk) 00:42, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
  • Hi Bossming sorry long day.... time for just a quick answer.. but basically the same as before. All 'paid editing' which includes editing about a company you are employed by must be disclosed - per Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure any more Conflict of interest edits without a declaration is liable for an admin to block your account. So do this first - see WP:DISCLOSE. Secondly as before the only correct way to proceed is with a separate article to first show notability in a neutral encyclopedic way. If that is achieved their are options that could end up with the new article at Famigo or that page being a disambiguation page pointing to both (in case that is not clear like Richard Samuels points to three articles none of which has enough dominance to justify being the primary - I picked that as I work on one of those yesterday). You should continue to work on Draft:Famigo (Arizona company) either by recovering the deleted version via WP:REFUND or just start again from scratch or copy from the historical version of Famigo. If your company is notable in Wikipedia terms that is the only way to go with your Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and other issues can be addressed afterwards, if not notable then leave it until your company is notable. If this page is moved to article space again, please do not move it to draft space a third time. I would prefer that pages not be moved to draft space a second time. Repeatedly moving a page to draft space is move-warring, even if the page doesn't belong in article space. I was about to write an AFD for it before you draftified it again. If it is moved into article space again, please either send it to AFD or let me send it to AFD. By the way, I have made a conflict of interest inquiry of the author. I think it is an autobiography. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:52, 10 May 2022 (UTC)

  • Hey Robert McClenon I agree in general as I do not agree with moving back to draft more than once usually, but as it appears to be a new editor with a COI I was giving them an extra chance, but like you I would AfD or even CSD if they do it again. New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022

New Page Review queue March 2022

Hello KylieTastic,

At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.

Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.

In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 873 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 816 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.

This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.

If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

  • Hi Celeboyz they were just minor maintenance edits, not an indication of an interest in Nigerian music. Ask for advice from the editor who moved the article to draft and/or ask for help from those who make substantial edits to such articles, like the creator of Vict0ny. You could also seek interested editors on associated wikiprojects like Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Nigeria. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 17:45, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

Request on 10:44:10, 25 May 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by Demonelevn

Demonelevn (talk) 10:44, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi there, so my article has been rejected. I would love some assistance as I believe that a page on Bandwagon Music Ltd. is really important even if just as a footnote in British indie music of the 00s. This was a functioning music publishing company and record label from 2000 - 2012. I tried to add the reference www.companieslist.co.uk/04073047-bandwagon-music-limited as some kind of validation. I am curious what criteria does Wikipedia needs to list a small independant music label? Is it market share? How famous an artist is? Bandwagon Music and Bandwagon Records were also part of AIM (Association of Independent Music) in its early years //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_of_Independent_Music#:~:text=The%20Association%20of%20Independent%20Music,self%2Dreleasing%20artists%20and%20distributors.. Bandwagon Music's artists are still very much active with music released on streaming services such as Spotify etc. See e.g. John Henderson //open.spotify.com/artist/4WqE1cyJ32xzklLdMEL6EE?si=cVuVoz6UROyFOzXonNorqQ

Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Jube

  • Hi Demonelevn your submission Draft:Bandwagon Music was unsourced. It is not just existence such as companieslist.co.uk/04073047-bandwagon-music-limited shows (and that is a blacklisted source. Not that it helps notability but the same info can be found direct https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/04073047). There are huge number of registered companies and most are not notable. Also notability is not inherited so it does not matter how famous or not artists on a label are. Basically all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Currently you have no sources at all let alone any that talk about the subject in depth. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:22, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

Euguen Leon - Seeking some help and guidence

Hello Kylie

Hope this message finds you well. I would love to get some guidance and show me where/how I can go about publishing my wiki page (Euguen Leon). My show was just released May 23rd 2020 (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045) as Kukushkin. Although this is my most notable role, I have been in films for over 10 years appearing in shows like Brooklynn Nine Nine and films like 5 Flights Up with actors Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton.

Its important for me to learn and see what I can do to promote my show and me as an actor. If you have a chance to get back to me I would greatly appreciate it.

feel free to email me if needed gsheb@yahoo.com

User:Thespeedrunnergod2077/sandbox/Minecraft Speedrunning has no sources at all and the external links are not suitable: a non specific google search and a single video example. Note that List_of_video_games_notable_for_speedrunning#Minecraft so a new article would not only have to show notability but be significantly larger than the existing section to justify a split from that article. User Talk page headers

Hey, KylieTastic,

I know I've bugged you about this before but it would be great if you put the header at the top of the User talk page. Today, I moved around 10 or 12 talk page headers to the top of the talk page but it just looked odd to have them in the middle of the page. This stopped happening for quite a while but now I'm looking at drafts from November and I'm seeing it again. Maybe it's the timing of the messages you leave but I haven't run into this with other AFC reviewers. It might be because you also leave Welcome messages which, unfortunately, isn't that common among AFC reviewers. Any way, sorry to post about this again but I'm running into a lot recently so I thought I'd let you know. Thanks for all of the good work you do!

Make that 20 times I've moved the talk header around on the page. Sorry I forgot my signature earlier. Liz Read! Talk! 05:54, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
Hi Liz, you did mention this before in December 2021 but unfortunately I do not have a time-machine to change the order for November ;) Also note I raised this and it got changed in Twinkle see #1494 although that fix did not get into the public release till Feb 2022. I was mostly doing it manually after your last message so when you reach mid December it should be less often. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 08:41, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Your words may be true about my article that you deleted, but you must do yourself a search for it and find reliable sources to expand together in building a good Wikipedia community, so I ask you to help me write this first article  Preceding unsigned comment added by Alkubisai (talkcontribs) 12:41, 29 May 2022 (UTC)

  • Alkubisai no article has been deleted but Draft:Abdullah Alkubaisi has been declined as the sources appear to be self promotion/ made up. You claim 11 albums just this year, but your deezer link shows you mean 1 album and that was dated today - so just promotion. Your IMDB page shows why IMDB is a joke these days as they allow you to claim you where the star of "Christmas with the Vienna Boys Choir"that was filmed in 1995 when you were born 2002. Then this "source" claims your main works were when you were about one year old and in "The head" in 1977! IMDB may allow people to write junk about themselves but Wikipedia does not. KylieTastic (talk) 14:14, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
@KylieTastic I feel that you think that I am writing about myself, so you are wrong. I am writing about a famous person in my country, Iraq I know that and that is why I did not mention the series and films in which he participated, because I need your help to add the correct information only, and you have to help me with that. I think that this is your duty Alkubisai (talk) 16:02, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
  • Yes Alkubisai I do think you're writing about yourself. Sorry but if they are "famous" then I assume there will be articles written on websites and newspapers about them. I cannot help you correct the bad information on IMDB that has them spread to other sources. If they (you) were famous they would have more than 1 monthly listener on spotify , move than 19 followers on twitter . Oh and here they are a web developer but then that also looks like lies - born 2002 started work 2010. As for the last part - no it is not my duty - all editors are volunteers and have no duty to make any edits. If you have any further questions then please ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse instead. KylieTastic (talk) 16:28, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
@KylieTastic But he has 95,000 followers on Facebook and has more than 4,000 followers on Instagram And when you use his music on Instagram or Facebook, he will show you his profile linked to his albums when you click on the music picture, I know it's not your job but I'm asking you as my brother's request to help me create this saying because I'm one of his biggest fans Alkubisai (talk) 17:06, 29 May 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Madison 00 00 you miss-understand the purpose of Wikipedia - it is not a platform for people to publish what they say about themselves. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). For this type of subject also see WP:MUSICBIO. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 16:41, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
The info i got from them isn't just what they want to say about themselves though, I just asked them questions about themselves that any other article would include. Madison 00 00 (talk) 17:10, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
Hi Madison 00 00 it's still what they choose to say and more importantly it's unsourced. Assuming that you are being 100% truthful, that unfortunately is not true for all - Wikipedia requires actual sources not just a unknown editor claiming they did an interview and the subject was truthful. If you could see the level of vandalism and rampant self-promotion we get each day you would probably be shocked (I've been doing this for years and still don't comprehend some peoples actions here). In general interviews are not deemed independent reliable sources (see the essay (not policy) Wikipedia:Interviews). It may just be WP:TOOSOON and if they are successful, people will write about them and then someone will write an article, but if the sources do not yet exist then the article is not acceptable. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 17:20, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
So other than information directly from him and interviews what kind of sources are allowed Madison 00 00 (talk) 17:23, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
Madison 00 00 for the full answer see Wikipedia:Reliable sources but in general anything not user generated (IMDB, Wikis etc) and written by someone independent. For instance most newspapers, magazines, books (not self-published), non personal websites (there are a lot of music related websites). Also see WP:MUSICBIO for the extra criteria that help notability, although usually if an artist does those you'll also get written about a lot. KylieTastic (talk) 17:29, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
ok, thank you very much for your help and clarification. Madison 00 00 (talk) 17:38, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Assistance: St. Andrew's Draft

KylieTastic How can I proceed in this regard. I am in the Principal of the College (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:St._Andrew%27s_College_(Saskatoon,_CAN)) and trying to create a page using existing content to which I am authorised to use. Do you have wisdom how to proceed without deletion? Fionavar (talk) 17:53, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

  • Hey Fionavar I see your getting the hang of things, luckily I still had a watch on your page from when I placed the welcome so I had just answered there. Although I did fail to add that as at the moment it is pure copyright violation it will be deleted as Wikimedia is very hot on legal issues. You may wish to grab a copy of the infobox, which is the only non-direct copy, to save you time if your choose to recreate. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:13, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
KylieTastic I am okay losing the draft - but how do I avoid the copyright concern if I actually have right to use? Fionavar (talk) 18:21, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
Fionavar see my answer on your talk page - but basically see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for donating but you will also need other independent sources to show notability - all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). As you have a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest I would suggest keeping it as minimal and pure factual as possible. The reason we strongly discourage COI editing as people fail to be neutral and encyclopedic. Keep it simple and factual and any interested readers with follow links in the External links section to your own website. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:29, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
KylieTastic I will likely look for a service/editor to help in this regard. How do I get a copy of the infobox. thanks for your time! Fionavar (talk) 18:37, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
Fionavar you could approach the associated Wikiprojects to see it someone is interested in assisting (Wikipedia:WikiProject Education & Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity). As you the infobox you can just copy it from the existing article before it is deleted, but I'll grab a copy just in case and dump in your sandbox (User:Fionavar/sandbox also linked from the top menu). Hi KylieTastic,

I Yesterday made a biography page for Rashmi agdekar with all data available to me.

Mostly from youtube and Imdb.

She is a great Actress and good Instagram Influencer.

Yesterday you reviewed my work in Wikipedia.

I would correct my Citations and References about this topic.

Thank you for your Guidance.  Preceding unsigned comment added by CelebCrushIndian (talkcontribs) 04:07, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi CelebCrushIndian all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). IMDB is not a reliable source as it is user-generated (see WP:IMDB)... just this week I came across someone trying to promote themselves here and had managed to add themselves to over 60 productions on IMDB including ones filmed before they were born. You also cannot use people own social media as that is not independent. Wikis including Wikipedia are also user generated so cannot be used and any sources they have should be used directly. Nostalgia Film 2022

Hi, it has been a while since I contributed to wikipedia. But the film has nationwide distirbution in france and italy and is made by well known people. It also has massive news coverage. So I think it is definitely relevant. It also has articles in french, italian and german: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nostalgia_(2022) Could you take a second look? Thanks in advance! Newme (talk) 10:34, 4 June 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Newme is it actually released in France and Italy yet, it's unclear as recently shown at Cannes and the source says "The Italian release will be handled by Medusa while France’s Arp Seléction will distribute the film in France" which makes it sound like a future event. See Wikipedia:Notability (films) for how films are judged. I would guess the film is (or will be) notable but just needs a couple more sources, preferable one that shows it is actually in distribution (unfortunately we can't use IMDB as that has become so polluted with misinformation, opinions and rumours) and then one or two more reviews. See if you can find any additions sources and then add and resubmit. Note they do not need to be in English. I've just looked at the linked German version and this suggests its not released in France till November 23, 2022; My virus scanner blocks the medusa.it source; Indirectly I found this review. You can also check the sources fromm it:Nostalgia (film 2022) and fr:Nostalgia (film, 2022). Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:57, 4 June 2022 (UTC)

Curriculum vitaes would you suggest I publish there? Bmansheridan (talk) 15:30, 4 June 2022 (UTC)

    • If someone can find sources they should also rewrite it in comprehensible English. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:46, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
    • There are some editors who really should be working on the Wikipedia in their first language. The English Wikipedia already has more than enough crud. (Maybe it wouldn't be crud if it were properly written in another language.) Robert McClenon (talk) 16:46, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

What needs to be improved

Hello my page was declined, how can I make sure that the page is reviewed 2607:FEA8:101F:6500:1C0F:6833:3D59:4887 (talk) 20:16, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

  • What page? This is your first and only edit! KylieTastic (talk) 20:17, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
  • But in general all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). If those sources exist, add them and re-submit. KylieTastic (talk) 20:19, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

hi, need your kind help in creation of article on Ashfaque Nabi Dcmpedia (talk) 14:05, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Dcmpedia all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). However if elected to high positions that helps notability see WP:NPOV. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:07, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
hello, can you please review my article now. Dcmpedia (talk) 14:51, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
ok, I'll add more refrences ,thank you Dcmpedia (talk) 15:01, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
hi, can you please have a look at my draft, so that it can be moved to article page Dcmpedia (talk) 16:17, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
  • Dcmpedia to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. It's not submitted at the moment. However mid-day.com is BrandMedia so just self promotion and pure WP:PUFF; tribuneindia.com is also brand content created today again self promotional pure WP:PUFF; indiasentinel.co.in is not labelled as paid promotion but still reads like it. Also I see from the 'sources' he (I suspect maybe you) runs Digital Circle Media aka linked to your name. So you appear to have a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest that you have not disclosed. Wikipedia is not for promotion. KylieTastic (talk) 18:28, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
thank you, your valuable feedback appreciated Dcmpedia (talk) 18:32, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
does it need to be mentioned or to take permission to write about someone you know? Dcmpedia (talk) 18:44, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
if this article needs to be re-written , it needs to be mentioned initially that it is about a person you know? Dcmpedia (talk) 18:47, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

"Amman" Apartments

Hello,

I assume you want your pages to be accurate and I assume you know that for most users, myself included, your disclaimers about availability also apply. I was under the impression that Wikipedia was collaborative.

Here is the link to the Spokane City/County Historic Preservation Office webpage for the Ammann Apartments with the correct spelling: https://properties.historicspokane.org/property/?PropertyID=2146

Please let me know what it takes to correct the inaccuracy.

Kevin  Preceding unsigned comment added by CAL99201 (talkcontribs) 23:45, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi CAL99201/Kevin, the reason why the edits were reverted is Wikipedia requires sources not assertions and the linked NRHP record says Amman. Also note you broke the image changing the filename making it more like vandalism. Sometimes people do this sort of thing just because that's how they spell there own name, but your post here shows that's not your reason and the edits were in good faith. It appears that the "Spokane Historic Preservation Office" has changed its mind as the original record was one n see this. Also they link a pdf this that has old documents (page 19) that use one n, however also lots of others that use two. So what need doing is digging out the history expanding the article to explain the issue, fixing the sources, and then either move to a title of two n's or put that as a redirect. I'm at work now but I'll try to look tonight. So thanks for trying to fix just remember to use actual sources and don't 'fix' filenames and urls etc. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 08:27, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for your response, KylieTastic. You're right, the building and family name were misspelled throughout the National Register nomination which was before my time in Spokane and I hadn't seen it. Thank you for that.
It's a slog, but "History of the City of Spokane and Spokane County, Washington: From Its Earliest Settlement to the Present Time," by Nelson Wayne Durham, published in 1912, is searchable online with several mentions of the Ammanns, particularly pages 669-670 about Charles E. Ammann, the "Charles E. Amman" of the National Register nomination. If the link works, Charles is covered here: History of the City of Spokane and Spokane County, Washington: From Its ... - Nelson Wayne Durham - Google Books
I apologize for any vandalism which was a result of my ineptitude rather than malice and thank you for your patience. CAL99201 (talk) 15:17, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
Hey CAL99201, I'm so tired from a bad day I'm going to postpone looking at this tonight (real life issues), but I wont forget. More important it was not vandalism, just without context/source looked like possible vandalism - huge difference... People who deliberately vandalise can just move on, but those with good intent we hope will stay and improve things. Wikipedia is only what it is because those who wish to improve outnumber those that don't. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:04, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
Get some rest, KylieTastic. Thank you for your work. 2601:602:CD01:2B00:84EA:61BD:B67B:5EEB (talk) 04:33, 15 June 2022 (UTC)

AfC Draft: Van Snyder (DJ)

Hello. How can I make sure that the Draft: Van Snyder (DJ) https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Van_Snyder_(DJ) gets reviewed by anybody soon? Waiting for over 2 weeks for a decision. thanks --Base-X (talk) 12:57, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Base-X unfortunately there is not really any way speed things up. The process relies on volunteers and there are just not enough for the number of submissions. The most important thing is to make sure you have the sources to show that they pass WP:MUSICBIO or BIO. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 13:54, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

Ross Michaels (Draft) Declined Question

Hi KylieTastic,

Thanks for reviewing the page I made for Ross Michaels. You declined it, and I was wondering if you could point me to any guideline for creating a good wiki page for an artist manager (which Michaels is), or what kind of sources might help the article pass.

Best, Swillard23  Preceding unsigned comment added by Swillard23 (talkcontribs) 19:23, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Swillard23 all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). In this case Wikipedia:Notability (people) is the guidelines we use. At the moment your first source is primary (not independent); the second I have no access to so can't judge; the next is just a music video; the last two appear to be interviews so again not independent. Hope that helps you understand the decline and requirements. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:50, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter June 2022

New Page Review queue June 2022

Hello KylieTastic,

Backlog status

At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000[a] at the end of May.

Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.[b]

In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).

While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).

Backlog drive

A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here. Barnstars will be awarded.

TIP – New school articles

Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.

Misc

There is a new template available, {{NPP backlog}}, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:

Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 23096 articles, as of 22:00, 31 July 2026 (UTC), according to DatBot

There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Reminders
  • Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
  • If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}} on their talk page.
  • If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
  • To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
Notes
  1. not including another ~6,000 redirects
  2. The number of weekly reviews reported in the NPP feed includes redirects, which are not included in the backlog we primarily track.

Team saath

Dear sir,

Why deleted team saath page. Please solve this problem sir please help Realjeeshan (talk) 02:48, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

  • Realjeeshan Draft:Team Saath is not deleted. Note all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). KylieTastic (talk) 07:59, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

Google maps isn’t a valid response for that.

For Draft:El Cubano, Cuba google maps isn’t a good source. Especially for Cuba since if you look at OSM and then look at google maps you’ll see a lot of stuff messing. Also if that’s your reason Canoa, Cuba should also be a draft (which it was removed from proposed deletion) CubanoBoi (talk) 13:12, 16 July 2022 (UTC)

  • CubanoBoi yes google maps is not a good source in general but using it for the satellite image to show that there are just a couple of buildings and no sign of a "small town" means the claim appears dubious. openstreetmap is even worse source as it is user generated, and the other sources are not good. Per WP:GEOLAND you need a source to show a place is or was a "Populated, legally recognized place". Canoa, Cuba is also lacking the required sources and could be draftified - but at least the satellite images show a few more buildings so it's possible but calling it a "small town" is dubious, look more like a small village or hamlet. What you should look for are any official sources to show these are legally recognized places. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:01, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
Most of the road is also a part of El Cubano. At 22°32’00”N 79°48’56”W there’s houses a part of El Cubano, it does have people. CubanoBoi (talk) 14:14, 16 July 2022 (UTC)

Also if that’s the case can you review Draft:Rincón, Cuba CubanoBoi (talk) 15:41, 16 July 2022 (UTC)

  • CubanoBoi to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. KylieTastic (talk) 15:54, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
Alright, but can you put back El Cubano since I just showed you proof that it’s populated CubanoBoi (talk) 15:56, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
CubanoBoi you did not show that it's a "Populated, legally recognized place" - Wikipedia requires reliable sources. KylieTastic (talk) 15:58, 16 July 2022 (UTC)

I FOUND A GOVERNMENT SOURCE THAT TALKED ABOUT EL CUBANO! https://www.soycamajuani.gob.cu/es/nuestra-region/region-camajuani/un-poco-de-historia ITS THE GOVERNMENT WEBSITE OF CAMAJUANI CubanoBoi (talk) 16:12, 16 July 2022 (UTC)

  • CubanoBoi good, add any such sources you find to the article. If Cuba has a national census those are often good to showing subjects are legally recognized place, also does Spanish Wikipedia have a version with any sources? KylieTastic (talk) 16:33, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
No, it only has one in Haitian which is only one sentence which isn’t even true, also it has two pages since they think La Flora and El Cubano are two different places CubanoBoi (talk) 16:35, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
Should I resubmit? CubanoBoi (talk) 16:50, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
I see you have so the question is stale, but it's probably a borderline case with a source to show a place of that name existed but no real details. KylieTastic (talk) 08:50, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

  • The web page is self-written, so it's not an independent third-party source.
  • The references at the bottom may be suitable, but they don't have page numbers, ISBN numbers (where appropriate) proper formatting, and, most importantly, they are not in-line as required here

I am tryign to make a page for Angie Crabtree who seems to have plenty of press coverage...what else would we need here friend? Thanks! Tyler

2600:6C50:157F:E44D:79F0:6646:9A8D:D60 (talk) 17:17, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi 2600:6C50:157F:E44D:* Draft:Angie Crabtree has definitely been heading the the correct direction, although some more content would be better. Generally for general notability WP:GNG three+ good sources are what is looked for. jckonline look good, sfweekly is OK but has a lot of direct quotes so not so much independent and forbes is a difficulty one as they have largely sold out and take a lot of content direct from sources and in this case lacks significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) and frankly reads like a Valentine’s Day advert. As the last reviewer said they may be notable but difficult to tell from the submission. I did a quick search and did not find a lot, what you could do with is a good review piece about the artist and her work. Also don't add puff term like "hyper" without solid sources to back it - none of the sources use that word so it just looks like promo and not Encyclopedic. Hope that helps, Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:33, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

New to Wikipedia and struggling

Hi,

I just joined Wikipedia and I am struggling. I want to make a page for one of my favorite horror directors but I don't understand how to. When I google them, tons of information comes up and even their film is on Wikipedia but my draft was just declined due to not being able to prove that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article. I thought I understood what a good source was but I am really lost. Any advice? Eboo1994 (talk) 22:53, 24 July 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Eboo1994 all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Usually we are looking for 3+ such good sources. You currently on Draft:Jared Masters have just one source that is just a basic listing with nothing about him. Also if multiple of his works were notable that would also help. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 08:11, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

Hey Kylie review this article

Hi, since this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft%3AUgezu_J_Ugezu?wprov=sfla1 was declined by you, I have updated it and I'm requesting you take a look at it now. Thank you Okechukwu4u (talk) 02:21, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Okechukwu4u to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Also it is not one of my subject areas of interest. I declined originality as it just had a single source which is never enough to show notability. I would note that all main claims should be sourced and I spotted that there is no reference for the awards, so I would look at those and then please re-submit. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 08:20, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

WP:ERAS in Massawa article

Hallo, I noticed that you "reverted" the style of the Massawa article from AD to CE. May I ask you where is the version with CE that you reverted to? As far as I can see, the original article style was AD, starting at the version of 22 August 2010. Or am I overseeing some older version? If it is so, please revert my reversion. Thanks, Alex2006 (talk) 19:16, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Alessandro57, my understanding is the point of WP:ERAS is to stop the rather pointless back and forth editing we have had in the past asserting personal preference. I have generally taken "An article's established era style should not be changed without reasons specific to its content" means what has been the 'stable' version, not necessarily delving back to what was first written. Although now delving into the history I agree the changing the era originally appears to have been done without giving a valid justification in 2018. When swapping editors should always say why, in this case reverting to original changed without justification, to stop the back and forth. So to answer your question I just reverted as the change was without saying why and a quick 'recent' (first page) history showed CE usage, not because I checked all the previous history. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 20:09, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

Primus Canada

Primus Canada is not owned by Birch Communications (see the citations I added). Birch Communications is a defunct company that was taken over and absorbed by Fusion Connect in 2018. Primus Canada was sold by Fusion Connect as a distinct entity to Distributel in 2021. Please correct the error that you made.  Preceding unsigned comment added by The axel (talkcontribs) 21:33, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

  • The axel all articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). You reinstated Primus Canada without adding source to show that notability. No one is claiming "Primus Canada" is owned by Birch Communications, the redirect goes to the company the acquired it and the fact that they have be acquired subsequently does not invalidate it. Someone search for Primus Canada will find themselves Birch_Communications#Covista_acquisition_(2013) and will be able to read that the company is acquired and no longer active. If Fusion Connect had existed they could have been re-directed to that, however if they have now been acquired by Distributel it makes sense to change the redirect to that, which I have done. Hello KylieTastic, I'm a bit puzzled, and perhaps you know the answer. Today I got one of those standard watch-list e-mails, saying "Wikipedia page Andriy Melnyk (ambassador) has been changed by KylieTastic". (Andriy Melnyk (ambassador) was moved to Andriy Melnyk (diplomat) a little while ago.) So I went to the History for the page to see what's up, and it tells me the most recent edit was on 11 July. I imagine there may have been several edits since 11 July, because the page has attracted attention on the vexed question of Melnyk's imputed Nazi sympathies. But has the History itself been edited? Is there a gremlin? Can you shed any light? Thanks if you know, and thanks anyway for your work on WP. -- Frans Fowler (talk) 18:53, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

  • Hey Frans Fowler, yup it's sometimes not obvious what some notification are about, but luckily I remember doing that one..... It was just a New page patrol on the new redirect after the move as you can see in the logs marked as patrolled today. If you have a watch on an article that is moved you end up with watches on both and the link in the email will redirect to Andriy Melnyk (diplomat) when the change was for Andriy Melnyk (ambassador) adding to the confusion... and as its just a patrol not in the history so unclear to most. Hope that makes sense - Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:20, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
Super KylieTastic! Thank you. So, in effect nothing changed between 11 July and now, except that you patrolled the page move – which triggered a notification but cannot be seen in the ordinary history. Relieved! -- Frans Fowler (talk) 04:23, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Anusha Rai

After this new film Khadak, actor Has lead roles in two notable films and hence actor becomes notable as per WP:ACTOR. Request you to re review the draft Ntkn766 (talk) 15:05, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Ntkn766 actors and Kannada cinema are not really my area and I generally ovoid WP:BLPs. However, I do think there is enough to justify another review and a reject appears harsh (unless I'm missing something). Some things still need sources such as her date of birth. I suggest you add what sources you can for any unsourced claims and then if you wish to submit again for review add {{subst:submit|Ntkn766}}. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 16:20, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
    Hello KylieTastic,
Thanks for your response. Here is the link for her date of birth which is from book my show also u can see her filmography which she has acted in Lead and cameo roles have added almost all the sources. Ntkn766 (talk) 16:34, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

Yes, perhaps low power

Possibly the "Less than 10% remaining" red warning light was on when you wrote this. I'm pretty sure that I know what you meant to say when you wrote it, but of course it's not for me to tamper with it. Anyway, you may wish to revisit that talk page once you're back up to 60% or above. (And I'd certainly agree that the volume of shameless promotion in en:WP drains the power and the spirit.) -- Hoary (talk) 22:18, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

  • Hey Hoary, yes being both physically and mentally drained recently I have not had the energy for extra words and links especially when the likely-hood of an article reaching acceptance is low. However I assume the key issue was the missing not flipping the intended meaning, so I have fixed that and expanded. Thanks for the heads-up. I would not have minded if you had fixed or commented, but I understand why you would not want too with the reaction of some editors to such actions. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:59, 30 July 2022 (UTC)

Though I very often want to delete stuff, hazy (or clear) memories of this or that well-meant but annoying guideline usually stop me from doing so. Yet for me, this draft is so blatantly promotional that I'd be inclined to invoke G11 and rid WP of it. ¶ I hope things look up for you: I can only say that I find it very therapeutic to turn off the computer for a half or more of a waking day. -- Hoary (talk) 11:52, 30 July 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022

New Page Review queue August 2022

Hello KylieTastic,

Backlog status

After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.

Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.

Coordination
MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
Open letter to the WMF
The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
TIP - Reviewing by subject
Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.
New reviewers
The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.

Hi my page got declined Mohammed Usman. Can you suggest Me some edits to get approved? Thanks  Preceding unsigned comment added by Proboxingu (talkcontribs) 19:06, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Proboxingu all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Looking at WP:NMMA their is one condition that help notability based on MMA results. So if they don't meet that then you need to find probably 3+ sources that have significant coverage of them. For more information see Wikipedia:Notability (people). Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:58, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

2022 United States Senate election in Utah , Local Newspaper poll shows third party candidate leaping from 4% to 14%. I believe the thresh hold to be included in the top info box is 5%

july poll: https://www.deseret.com/utah/2022/7/20/23271505/utah-us-senate-race-mike-lee-evan-mcmullin-new-poll-latest-polling-how-close-who-will-win

  • Jh11850 neither of those mention Hansen just "others" and as the second one states "two third-party candidates are on the ballot" so he could be anywhere from 0-14%. Also don;t add sources written by the candidate - Wikipedia requires independent reliable sources. Lastly the question would be does the JH in your name stand for "James Hansen" is so stop editing and read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and note the WP:DISCLOSE section that is mandatory. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:04, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
I disclosed it, thought it had already saved, but i just updated it. I'm sure the other third party candidate that wants to roll us back to the stone age in terms of social liberty is gaining steam... but so be it. I don't have the luxury of millions of dollars fueling my campaign and news cycle but I'll keep working on independent publishing. Jh11850 (talk) 19:18, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
Hi Jh11850 thanks for the disclose and just remember this is an Encyclopedia not a political battle ground. That goes both ways so if you see any other candidate (or more likely there staff) pushing an agenda it should also go. Note I'm in the UK and have no real political leanings other than on a issue-by-issue base so I'm just applying guidelines and have no bias. Thus I also have no idea of the other 3rd party candidate so no comment. If they are one of those that stands often but gets no real support I would hope the polls separate you out, but too much media only focuses on the key 'race' and keeps things a two party system much as happens here in the UK and many other places as well. Lastly I agree the issue of who has the most money is something I hate so I really do sympathise, it should be about policy and historical actions. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:32, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
Jh11850 note as I saw you uploaded an image I have added to the section next to the Libertarian convention section of 2022 United States Senate election in Utah. KylieTastic (talk) 19:35, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

Rejection of Lake Lohja (disambiguation)

Hi Kylie - you rejected my proposed disambiguation page Lake Lohja (disambiguation) with the comment "Only one exists". I just want to clarify what you meant by this. Two distinct articles (plus one redirect page) do already exist, not to mention two lakes in the real world.

Is it because I jumped the gun and put the new name in for the second page, before I'd renamed it?

Thanks  Preceding unsigned comment added by Joepearson (talkcontribs) 11:03, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Joepearson, yes when I reviewed Lake Lohja (Estonia) did not exists. Taking long time get to approve re submitted article

@KylieTastic you recently declined my article. Now i corrected something and resubmitted it. My problem is when i submit my article first time reviewed it fastly (nearly in 4 hours after submitting). But why after a article Declined taking too long to review the same article? Abdullah Rifath (talk) 03:12, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Abdullah Rifath unfortunately there is a very large backlog, currently 2357. All reviewers are volunteers and as such come and go. New articles are often checked fairly quickly for issues like copyright, promotion, attack pages etc but after that they just become part of the backlog. Some reviewers work from the oldest, some at random and some on topic of interest and expertise, so it's just a waiting game. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 08:19, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
@KylieTastic Thank you for getting back. Please can you check my article and tell me what should I want to improve Abdullah Rifath (talk) 14:13, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
Hi Abdullah Rifath, sorry but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Also its good to have different reviewers to stop it being a 1-v-1. There are help links on the decline notice "Where to get help" section, and also the Wikipedia:Teahouse where lots of experienced editors answer questions. First see WP:NSCHOOL and WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. Basically schools are not inherently notable and requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). What does, "pure fantasy" mean? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:41, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hey Deepfriedokra, claims from the sources "one of India’s most popular EDM artists", "earning millions of hits on his singles online", "collaborates frequently with international artistes" sounds massive! Reality spotify 2 monthly listeners, YouTube 622 subs 1,114 views, Twitter 135 Followers (1,207 Following), spinnin records 1 song, 0 followers, Soundcloud 4 followers (102 following), personal website no links to this hugely popular music. "chart-topping 'City Of The Lonely Hearts'" - Well it was chart-topping for Zaeden, but their are no google hits for any version by arunadh007 or Arun Adhikari. "premiered live in front of 50,000 people at Tomorrowland in Amsterdam, when he was just 19" - Tomorrowland is in Boom, Belgium - there was a spin off event in 2019 but at 19 would make 2015 - not listed in lineup (so not shocked). As per other fantasy bios they have created self promo fantasy IMDB and crunchbase profile also started 2 'companies'. Even after all these years doing this I still can't even being to fathom the mindset behind people like this :/ Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:56, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks. That's a fantastic job you did fact checking. Superficially, the sources looked OK. In case you did not notice, they took over an article and are now blocked for spamming. Wait, can I delete the draft as a hoax? Fake refs = hoax. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:25, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
Hey Deepfriedokra, I get stuck down the rabbit-hole thinking no one would surely be so keen on promoting how bad they are that they must have done something real.... and just find a longer list of ways they promote their nothingness. I agree deleting as a hoax was a fair call, but could also gone with G5 created by blocked user/block evasion from Arunadh007 and NNBDigitalMedia - Also I think they were Acvofficial and Arun Adhikari. Request on 11:57:39, 19 August 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by Gareth Beyers

Hi,I really need help getting this article published. What guidance would you recommend to get this article up to scratch?

Many thanks,

Gareth Beyers (talk) 11:57, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

I have restructured the article, and added references to some very credible sources. Forbes, Mail and Guardian, and a local News site. This is a first-of-its-kind project n Africa. I have a list of publications we are linked to. Would it help our cause to list all the publications as well as a whitepaper we have crafted?  Preceding unsigned comment added by Gareth Beyers (talkcontribs) 13:49, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Gareth Beyers I had tried to answer earlier but had a powercut at the office :/. It looks like an improvement - as at least now you have sources and they all actually mention the subject (but I haven't read them). However - No, listing whitepapers you have created is not very helpful - yes they can be used to source facts in an article, but in general non-primary sources are vastly more helpful. Apart from the general point of having all claims sourced, for notability (which is what you need to show) we look for 3+ sources with significant coverage in independent reliable sources. However as I noted above blockchain and NFTs are so heavily trying to use Wikipedia to promote these days that such topics are much more carefully vetted and usually need a bit more to show notability. It's late so I just quick scanned but it does not appear promotional or have any obvious red flags so moving in a good direction. If you can find any other serious news sources with significant coverage then please add, but I would not add any whitepapers etc created by the subject. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:26, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
    Thanks KylieTastic,
I appreciate the help in restructuring and formatting my article. I have resubmitted my draft do I just wait for the next update?
Should I add the list of publications we have? Or should I right the article purely around the articles we have published about us?
I look forward to hear back from you.
All the best, Gareth Beyers (talk) 07:32, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
  • Hi Gareth Beyers although adding extra primary sources should not distract for notability as judged by the independent sources it is probably best to avoid. Especially as you have a declared WP:COI. If their is a single link to the publications/white-papers the best place to add would be as a single link in an external links section after the references. However if these are all available for the root website leave at that (note I have added a link to africarare.io in the EL section). Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:36, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Rejected DuKane Conference

Hi I'm not getting why this simple athletic conference page keeps being rejected for references.

  • 1. Every other athletic conference has a similar page, with similar references.
  • 2. I modeled mine after the nearby Upstate Eight Conference, which is deemed important enough to have a page.
  • 3. The DuKane athletic conference is just a few years old.
  • 4. Do you need more links from local newspaper articles about one team beating another with player names and scores?
  • 5. What is the harm in having this be a page? It gives some information about a high school level athletic conference in the Chicago area.

Aaron Miller Aaronatwake (talk) 13:51, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Aaronatwake all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Most of your sources are basic mentions that are good to say show that each is part of the conference but not for notability. The Wikipedia:Other Stuff Exists argument does not help as there are still many sub standard article already in main-space - if others exist like this then it is more likely they would be deleted then it help add more possibly non-notable articles. Unfortunately Upstate Eight Conference does have referencing issues as well, and may not be notable. Also often when comparing people get mixed up with the number of sources vs having 3+ independent reliable sources with significant coverage. Wikipedia is an international Encyclopedia so issues are only of interest to locals usually fail to pass notability. Lastly in answer to 5: Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia not a place to promote local interest subjects, the harm is that Wikipedia would become filled up with so much similar content that it's effectiveness and reputation would be affected. If any other independent reliable sources with significant coverage exists please do add, if not it may just be WP:TOOSOON and for now social media is more appropriate. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:09, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

Reliable sources

I am shocked about YOU!
Analogy, so you can understand it:
Me: Writes an in depth article about the Intel 80386 CPU and giving the "Intel 80386 Hardware Reference Manual" as source. The best source on this world you can ever use for such an article about this topic.
You: Declines Submission with the words "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified."
Me: Wonders about YOU. You call yourself a programmer and can't even comprehend a technical manual from Texas Instrument as reliable source. I am astonished.
Conclusion: You know what, I don't care. If the people here are like you, then the article just won't go into Wikipedia, it would be a waste of effort. Fix your "reliable sources" mimimi yourself. IT-Compiler (talk) 18:31, 26 August 2022 (UTC)

And btw. you also deleted the new additions. You can't even use the Wikipedia tools accordingly like they are supposed to use. IT-Compiler (talk) 18:34, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
  • IT-Compiler the only article I see that this comes from is Draft:20-bit computing... if that is what you call an "in depth article about the Intel 80386 CPU" I'm confused as it's neither in-depth at under 100 words or even mentions the I386#M80386. You also appear to have missed the notability tag which is the main issue, but we have no control over the order they are put in. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). I would expect more sources to exist even though it's a uncommon structure. Also please note the notice does not say the source given is not a reliable source (it is) - it says "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources" i.e. not enough reliable sources to show notability. The article had already been sent to draft, if any reviewer accepted with just one source it would just be either sent back to draft or sent for deletion. 1. I am laughing out loudly because of you. Learn what an analogy is. The ability to think abstractly is one of the requirements of programming. Yes, that was a test.
    2. To this date, there is only one 20-bit computer that I know of and it has been mentioned and credited with a reliable source. This one source is supreme and therefore no other source is required for this 20 bit processor and article. This microprocessor does exist and can be bought in large numbers. If there were other 20-bit CPUs that I know of, I would have mentioned them. So what is there should be taken as a reliable source and is enough to validate this article. Live with it and accept it. Hi there! I was wondering why you removed the Instagram link on Draft:Uozu Aquarium, citing WP:NOSOCIAL, since there it says "Except for a link to an official page of the article's subject", and the instagram link is the official page. Still working out how things work. Thanks in advance. Purplemontart (talk) 17:29, 27 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Purplemontart yes an Instagram link can serve as the official page if that is all there is, however in this case Draft:Uozu Aquarium has official websites in both English and Japanese both that link to the Instagram and other socials. WP:NOSOCIAL is to keep from spamming loads of social links which are usually not very Encyclopedic, when there is an official website that is usually preferred and should be the place readers discover social links if they want them. Hope that makes sense - Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 17:35, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
@KylieTastic Hey, thanks for the quick response, and yep, I get it, I was misunderstanding the policy as usual hah. Thanks for the explanation too. Purplemontart (talk) 17:37, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
  • Hey Purplemontart no worries and many of the guidelines are up to interpretation especially if you don't know them all (and I've been doing this a long time and still get pointed to new ones). Per WP:ELMINOFFICIAL (on the same page) "Normally, only one official link is included" - however I interpret this as having both the English and Japanese versions valid in the intent of the rule (i.e. stop promotional link spamming). Help

Hi hope you are doing good ? Its request to check and Review Shivam Gupta and Draft:Yeshu (TV serial).

Thanks Pp01902 (talk) 19:09, 29 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Pp01902 hope your well. Sorry, but to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. KylieTastic (talk) 08:41, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

Corrected sources

Good evening, I have corrected the sources and everything seems to be OK. If you could just take a look I would be delighted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Warsaw_Philharmonic_Choir

  • Hi Marek Gudowski, thanks for updating and re-submitting. However to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Also I'm hitting a wall tonight - just a bit of burn out and need a break - I've done over 1000 reviews this month and need a break. Hopefully one of the other reviewers will get to it soon, but no promises there is a big backlog. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:46, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Morning Edition (BBC radio programme)

Hi,

I see that you have refused to move my article about this national BBC radio programme to the main website, and seemingly for the same reasons as before. I have added two independent references to the article which are directly about the programme. They are not passing references and they are both independent sources which are not related to the programme and not related to the BBC.

I am therefore puzzled as to what I have to do to get this article onto Wikipedia as I now do not know why this article keeps getting refused.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Rillington (talk) 12:47, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Rillington, all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Ref1: just shows(ish) when Danny Baker started assuming "Radio 5's new breakfast cereal" refers to him starting - not a clear source and does not help notability; Ref2: Similar, vague and does not help notability; Refs 3 & 4: Similar, minimal and needs interpretation; Ref5: which appears to be a copy of the first show, but from listening to the start in neither says the date or that it was the first show (but I'm not going to listen to al 34 minutes) - not independent, not significant coverage and probably a copyright violation; Ref6: Independent, no reason to not take as a WP:RS, has the first actual coverage but far from significant with 3 sentences. We normally look for 3+ independent reliable sources with significant coverage and so far I would class this as 0.5 out of 3 and also a lot of claims unsourced. Hope that explains the thinking behind the review. I would be surprised if more sources do not exist but as it's pre popular internet much may be in news and magazine archives. Also I did a quick look for a start source and was surprised that on a 1990 search it was not August as I found this listing the "Morning Edition" at 6:30 am on BBC Radio 5, Jan 3, 1990 which is confusing - I'm guessing maybe it was a non national pre-launch or something? Other sources like this and this suggest there was a "Morning Edition" show on Radio 5 starting on the 28th. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:10, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
    • Hi, thank you for a most helpful reply, as I can take this guidance to future articles.

Reference five is from the second edition of the show and the part of the programme that i am referring to is approximately four minutes into the recording. I'm sure that I have heard a full pre-launch trailer which will have described the show in more detail and should I find it I would add this. As you say, there are bound to me more references about what was a UK-wide show which ran for the entire duration of the show. It's just a case of finding them.

And regarding the references which are from listings, why do you think that they are not reliable sources? I appreciate that they come from back issues of the Radio Times, which at the time was owned by the BBC, but they do provide that reference to back up the information being stated in the article. Rillington (talk) 12:16, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Hi Rillington, the listing are reliable sources - however as there is no depth they just don't help to notability, but they are still valid sources. There are two requirements for sources: the first is Wikipedia:Verifiability (to keep us an Encyclopedia rather than a blog/social media post want you want site) and for that listing etc can be great; the second is for notability requiring depth. When reviewing we primarily focus on notability because after that we/others can either tag as needing more sources or remove unsourced material. There is an issue with these listings as they need some interpretation for instance saying "Radio 5's new breakfast cereal" rather than "Danny Baker takes over the reigns of the Morning Edition". However I doubt anyone would claim the Radio Times (or similar) was not a reliable source for listings, or similar basic facts. I did a search of the newspapers hoping to find one of Danny Baker taking over for an example but failed. Frankly finding the sources is often the hardest part.
  • Hi, and once again thank you for a most helpful reply. I've been editing for more than a decade but I know there's always more to learn and I welcome this help from fellow Wikipedians such as yourself who have far more experience at doing this than I have.

Thank you for confirming that the BBC listings are valid references but as you rightly say, we are reliant on what the description writers chose to use at the time and the more pithy or opaque descriptions aren't necessarily helpful nor clear. I hope you agree that this article is now not far off being suitable for mainspace and I am confident that there are more sources available for this and for my other Radio 5 article (about its drivetime show Five Aside) which is also in draftspace, and possibly this could enable me to create articles for the other major Radio 5 programmes. Any further guidance would be much appreciated and again thank you for your help. Rillington (talk) 13:38, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
