Hi Blitziko. Per WP:DELTALK, user talk pages and user talk archives are generally not deleted. It also says "Exceptions to this can be and are made on occasion for good reason". If you have a good reason for deleting these archives, then I suggest that you put the {{db-u1}} on those pages again with an edit summary elaborating on that reason for deletion. The main reason stated by Wikipedia:DELTALK is that "they are usually needed for reference by other users". I have not been a prolific editor nor have gotten into major controversy. I've had a few warnings and such but nothing extraordinary for an editor. I think that Wikipedia:OWNTALK's "Although archiving is preferred, users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages. 2. Since you cannot edit your talk page at User talk:Alakmarsaify, you need to send an unblock request via Wikipedia:Unblock Ticket Request System.
3. If you are successful in that and your talk page access is granted, then you need to follow the steps laid out in Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks.

The tables in Hull City A.F.C.#Current squad aren't standard tables, they are just a bunch of template calls that in turn create the table rows. You should be able to remove the line for Harry Vaughan and add it to the on-loan table easily. I'll do it for you if necessary, but I prefer if you try first. It is generic-sounding, but it seems to be a technical term in US government contracting (and was new to me yesterday). I came to the wrong page through the disambiguation page for UEI and ended up having to dig through the history to find the info. The basic flow for the FAC stats is as follows:

1. Parse a month's worth of nominations and write the resulting data to the monthly pages here.
2. Edit those pages so they correctly reflect who contributed a review and what kind of review it was. This is the manual step that it sounds like you can skip.
3. Read the edited pages and insert the resulting data into SQL.
4. Use the data in SQL to generate the monthly stats report at WT:FAC. This is an example.

I’ve completed the Maharashtra Assembly election results for most constituencies. While working on this, I noticed that in the 1952 and 1957 elections, some constituencies appeared under slightly different names or combined area names.

If it is a simple name change then its ok to add the info to the new name. I'd suggest a few fixes:

• Make sure that you don't leave MOS:COLHEAD issues in the mla table.
• Add a mention of the old name to the lead
• Create a redirect from the alternative name to the existing article.

I've done all this for Yeotmal Assembly constituency, so you can check and do the same fixes for the rest.

For name changes like Sinnar -> Sinnar Niphad, you'd need to do a bit more research and check if the constituency boundaries are basically the same or not (in the delimitation reports). The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.

Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

Good morning! I wanted to ask your advice with article review regarding a couple issues:

1) A few editors have told me that it is never appropriate to move an article to drafts for lack of notability. The previous advice I received was that if I added a notability tag and there were no improvements after a week, moving it would be appropriate. I wanted to ask for your take on this.

2) Somebody was arguing with me that footnotes are never required. After reviewing the policy, I don't see that footnotes are required if the claim is unlikely to be challenged. But I find that an article of a paragraph citing 3 books without any more specific citations is not really helpful to the encyclopaedia. Can you please give me more guidance on how to handle lack of footnotes?

Hey, I was off-wiki for a while and am only now getting to pending conversations.

• Footnotes: For new articles having the issue that you mention, I usually add just the "no footnotes" tag from Twinkle and sometimes a "citation needed" tag if a particular sentence makes me look askance. Whoever is arguing that footnotes are never required should first try to get consensus at the appropriate forum and then get that maintenance tag removed from Twinkle.

The guideline on monotypic fauna does say that they that this should be at the genus under normal circumstances, but I missed this part of it: The exception is when a monotypic genus name needs to be disambiguated. The article should then be at the species, since this is a more natural form of disambiguation. Barcino is an ambiguous term, and the species is a natural disambiguation. Hi MPGuy - first of all, thanks for your work on MoveToDraft (and on deleting the speedy nom'd redirects). I was recently thinking about the text of {{db-r2}} and wasn't sure where I should potentially bring this up, so as both an admin and the maintainer of the script that causes the most redirects-to-draftspace, I figured you would have an opinion on if this is even worth considering.

I think the text of the R2 template is a bit confusing for new users who get their articles draftified, since they just see a bunch of Wikipedia policy terms above "this page may be deleted at any time". (The instruction to notify the nominator on their talk page when help=off is unset isn't particularly helpful either.) This results in them attempting to contest the draftification by copy-pasting over the nom template and redirect instead of waiting for it to be deleted and moving it back. This has happened to me here - the history is a bit funky because of a histmerge I requested to try to get the original author as the page creator, but you can see their attempt to contest the speedy on the talk page. (I believe it also happened here but I can't see the deleted page so I'm not sure.) A template like {{db-move}}/{{db-afc-move}} for G6 that wraps R2 ({{db-draftified}} maybe?) could be nice for explaining that their article still exists and that they can resubmit it through AfC to get it back into mainspace.

If this did get made I'm sure it'd be used almost exclusively through MoveToDraft, so I would appreciate your thoughts on this. ScalarFactor (talk) 02:07, 10 April 2026 (UTC)

At first glance this makes sense to me. I think if there is a well-crafted template called {{db-draftified}}, it would get community support to replace {{db-r2}} in draftifying scripts (there are others too). Please create one, in your userspace for now, and we can take it forward from there. It only needs a few sentences that would clarify that the actual page has been moved (with a prominent link to the new location) and that this is just a leftover redirect. Hi MPGuy2824. Would you mind taking another look at File:MyFoxFM.png? You just deleted some unused revisions per WP:F5, but I believe (if I remember correctly) that only the original version (10 January 2021 version) needed to be deleted because it was sufficiently complex enough to need to be treated as non-free content; the version uploaded on 16 April 2026 is too simple, really, to be eligible for copyright protection per c:COM:TOO US since it's basically just text. The "problem" (if you want to refer to it as such) was that the user who uploaded the latest version probably wasn't aware of stuff like the threshold of originality and just (mistakenly) assumed all logos automatically need to be treated as non-free; so, they overwrote the existing logo when they actually should've uploaded the new version to Commons as a separate file. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:07, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

My apologies if my post was a bit confusing. The originally uploaded version probably needs to be treated as non-free content just because of the fox-tail imagery in the "x" of "Fox", but the other two versions are just text. The originally uploaded version would be subject to WP:F5, but the other two wouldn't. Normally, this would be a candidate for a split with the originaly version remaining as non-free and the new version licensed as {{PD-logo}} as a different file; however, the same user uploaded both versions and most likely just thought they needed to be treated the same way from a copyright standpoint. Since it's unlikely that a valid non-free use will be found for the old version per WP:NFC#cite_note-4, it will ultimately just end up being tagged for speedy deletion per {{Orfu}} even if the file is split. Hello, I just want to request a trial reduction for random geography stubs that were protected indefinitely as I am concerned. The admin gave me tips like making edit requests, and since hundreds was too tiring, I created a sandbox and later also posted on the noticeboard to reveal and finalize. Since some edit requests in major cities was declined, how do I look for other new topics to add or reliable sources? The second round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 April. Well, yeah. I would like to challenge your CS decline with an edit summary that you wrote. I just took the time to work on Draft:2026–27 UEFA Champions League league phase only to later notice that a redirect has taken article space. Listen, the draft is still at work and it may attract more experienced editors than myself, as soon as the draw takes place on August 27th. And looking thoroughly at the creation logs, this never seemed to happen last year! The 2025 draft was created by another user and moved to article space by another, when ready. I don't see how things should be different this year. Per instructions at G6 this page should be deleted as a wrong redirect, and as I noted in my rationale "Deletion of this will match with how the 2026–27 UEFA Europa League league phase and the 2026–27 UEFA Conference League league phase are meant to be for the time being". However, honestly, I don't understand what your edit summary means. What is your goal with this? I assume that the prose content that is now in the draft should live at 2026–27 UEFA Champions League league phase, right? If so, then if you copy the prose and replace the contents of the redirect with it, won't that goal be achieved? This is what I meant by my edit summary when I removed the G6 tag.

Rereading your G6 rationale and your posts above, I think I understand a bit better now. Since the draft isn't ready for mainspace, we should leave the redirect as is. When the draft is complete/ready, an editor (possibly you) can submit it via AfC OR ask for the move of the draft to mainspace. The latter gets done soon, and there is no need to delete a working redirect a couple of months in advance. You recently denied my protected edit request on Nic Vansteenberghe. You said it should go through the AfC process, but I was told be a different editor that he couldn’t move the article forward because the redirect is fully protected and only able to be edited by an administrator.

Given that there was a recent AfD, I felt that going through AfC was the better option. Now the draft has been accepted at AFC and moved to Nicolas Vansteenberghe.
