I wonder if this is not Andrew, but rather a lesser known sock known as Dusty8686 (WP:LTA/D86). It matches with Dusty's pattern of making sandbox edits to game autoconfirmed, as well as his penchant for numbers/math and obscure Wikipedia lore. I do not know much about puppetmasters outside of A5 and kinda Lokicat. I do know, however, that some other abusers do idolize A5 (which is insanity to me). That would also partially explain why CheckUser was not picking up on the accounts but I kinda chalked that down to him physically moving to mask the links. ✶Quxyz✶ (talk) 18:01, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Just chiming in, since I've dealt with the LTA before. Is it worth a Village Pump discussion to discuss the feasibility to only count mainspace edits toward getting autoconfirmed? I was also thinking of making so that the edits had to happen on four separate days instead of just having the account active for four days. I doubt that would really prevent any legitimate newcomers from the permissions but it would be a pain when mass creating accounts for nefarious purposes. ✶Quxyz✶ (talk) 18:14, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Potentially; Dusty is just the type of person who sneaks under the radar but also tends to disappear for long periods of time, which is probably why this issue hasn't been brought up sooner. wizzito | say hello! 18:15, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
