Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Bakla, have removed content without a good reason to do so. Content on Wikipedia should not be removed just because you disagree with it or because you think it's wrong, unless the claim is not verifiable. Instead, you should consider expanding the article with noteworthy and verifiable information of your own, citing reliable sources when you do so. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). I don't have the password for that account because I randomly generated it and didn't save it, making it impossible for me to continue editing with it. I also have no plans to keep editing after copyediting the article. The "Bakla" article is misleading and untrustworthy because it relies on a Western lens, which disrupts its accuracy. This approach ignores how locals actually use the language and understand kasarian in our culture. I'll leave a message on the article's talk page explaining these issues. Magintapat (talk) 05:28, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
And also, please stop gatekeeping the "Bakla" article, especially through a Western-centric lens. You're not even Filipino. You don't speak our language. You understand nothing. If our definition is rooted in our culture, why impose a Western-centric lens on it? I recommend that experienced Filipino Wikipedians review my version. I would like to continue discussing it with people who understand the topic based on local knowledge.

I'm guessing that Michael Tan of UP Diliman would be surprised to hear that he has a Western-centric lens.

Gay language has promoted a sense of belongingness for the so-called third gender, said anthropologist and University of the Philippines-Diliman chancellor Michael Tan.

"Unlike before that being called 'bakla' (gay in Filipino) is an insult, today being called 'bakla' gives someone that sense of pride,” Tan said.
