FYI
Just a note, I added the little bit of CSS you wrote to widen the search box in vector as a Gadget. Mr.Z-man 01:02, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- That's great. Now when will this become the default? PleaseStand (talk) 01:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC) Just a note: The original code set the width to 15em (compare to the default 10em and the gadget 20em). The margin-top of 0.6em (vs. 0.5em) is to line up the search box better with the rest of the tab text.
User info
May I suggest for the user info scrip a change from "A user" to "A standard user" or something like that? kcylsnavS {screech} 01:27, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- A registered user — are you fine with that? PleaseStand (talk) 01:32, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- P.S.: but not show the word "registered" if the user is blocked? I don't like "a blocked registered user". PleaseStand (talk) 01:36, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- I have made the change as described for clarity. WP:BYPASS and you should see it. PleaseStand (talk) 01:59, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- P.S. Please make sure User:Rd232 shows up as a "blocked administrator". I found a bug while making the change you suggested. PleaseStand (talk) 02:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
AfC
Hi, just thought you might want to check out User:Tim Song/afchelper4.js. It's a handy script for AfC reviewing, and notifies the page creator as well. Cheers, —fetch·comms 20:27, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. It makes accepting articles much easier. PleaseStand (talk) 21:18, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
FFU
Regarding this, it does fall under fair use as the subject is now deceased. —fetch·comms 22:27, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- The comment seemed to suggest that the requester holds the copyright. Is it acceptable for an uploader to upload his own image to Wikipedia, allowing others to use it only under "fair use"? PleaseStand (talk) 22:32, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- So should I go ahead and upload the file then, even though I have already closed the request? PleaseStand (talk) 22:42, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Submission re Veterans' Memorial Hall, Duluth, MN
Dear PleaseStand, you reviewed and denied this submission--would it be better if I followed up with you with my questions, or should I use live chat? (My comment/question: I did rewrite this myself, and added information from a few other sources. Was it just too close to what is on the website?) Thanks for your time. - Comparing your submission with About the Museum, it is obvious that the structure of your article matches theirs, just with parts deleted, which is evidence of plagiarism (link to Wikipedia policy). In many places, paraphrasing is too close to the original as well. ("At the turn of the 20th century, St. Louis County’s population was booming, and county leaders decided to build a courthouse that would be unrivalled in Minnesota." and "As the years progressed, the number of GAR members diminished." are two examples). All this with no quotation marks anywhere.
- If you want to ask someone else about your submission, you should be able to find someone on live chat. I am not on there, but you can always leave a message for me on this page, and I will respond as soon as I can. PleaseStand (talk) 20:28, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the clarification! That is exceedingly helpful.MtRainier7 03:59, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
