Hi. USA is the 3rd largest country by population. China is a not a democracy. India is a democracy and it even states on their Wikipedia article that they are the world's largest democracy by population. Now isn't it just a simple deduction that the USA would be the world's 2nd largest democracy by population since China is not one? Not really sure if I need a source for this. @Alexysun Well, the verifiability policy states that material that is "likely to be challenged" should always be cited. Not every reader out there will know or care about the political status of China and India, nor even their population. Based on that, it should be cited.

Hi Toby, I hope this is the right place to reach out.

My name is Kane Carter and I'm directly involved in the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. I've personally released two official games for it in the past few years under the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative. I've seen that the Wikipedia article for the Five Nights at Freddy's series has had some internal discussion about whether the Fanverse should be recognised on the page. I would love to give some insight on the Initiative, as well as possibly provide useful information for the rest of the series page based on my time as a fan and a developer for the series.

If you or anyone else working on the Wiki is interested, please DM me on Twitter, "kanethecarter", or "POPGOESdev". I'm happy to answer questions and clarify things regarding the Fanverse, or my own series in it.

I am not going to personally edit things on the page, to avoid a conflict of interest issue, but I will say it's sad to see the Fanverse being so broadly dismissed as a simple footnote. I was hoping that it being a huge part of the anniversary event this year would give it some well deserved credit, but it appears to still be seen as a mere group of "fangames" which is not correct.

To address your concerns, unfortunately, your edit requests may not be able to be implemented in the actual article. First of all, I don't know for a fact that you're the real Kane Carter. I personally trust you, but I shouldn't jeopardize the integrity of the article in case you're not actually him (I also don't have Twitter).

Secondly, your help counts as a Wikipedia:PRIMARYSOURCE, which is discouraged here, as Wikipedia heavily relies on Wikipedia:RELIABLESOURCES that proves the information can be Wikipedia:VERIFIED. Maybe it's possible you can drop some info to a secondary publication (see a list of sources here), and they can write about it so that Wikipedia in turn can use it.

After doing some editing to address the problem, I removed the templates you placed on Bishop Herman College ({{Peacock}} and {{Advert}}). I won't object if you think there are still issues, and want to restore them. As for the awards and alumni sections, my go-to guide is Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article advice. You were right that the dispute was not ready for DRN. The filing unregistered editor had made a comment on the article talk page, but it did not result in discussion. The discussion phase of the October 2024 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

• October 22–24 - Discussion phase
• October 25–31 - SecurePoll voting phase
• November 1–? - Scrutineering phase

During October 22–24, we will be in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages will open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2024/Discussion phase.

On October 25, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote tallies cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's tally during the election. The suffrage requirements are different from those at RFA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for an indeterminate amount of time, perhaps a week or two. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose). As this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").

I don't know why you tagged this page for speedy deletion, CSD U1 is only for tagging your own User pages for deletion, not other editors'. You shouldn't have even been editing this page, please do not tag other editors' User pages for deletion unless CSD U5 applies or you want to tag them for an MFD discussion. @Liz Hello Liz. The author opened a Teahouse thread asking for their sandbox and that page to be deleted, but did not know how to do so. I tagged it for them with an explanation in the template explaining why.

Hello! I just joined Wikipedia to fix a reference that links to a malicious website. However, when I enter the editor, the References section completely changes, and the part I was going to edit is no longer there. @ValleyDragon888 Just an FYI, that link directs to the Simple English Wikipedia which is a separate wiki from the English Wikipedia (the one we're editing right now!) I don't edit that wiki, so you should ask editors over there rather than someone like me for questions like this.

I've checked, and the References section indeed changes when I start editing. Unfortunately, I'm not too experienced with the functions of those templates and am unsure of what causes this to happen in the source code. You can ask someone more experienced with templates for that. I can still remove the reference in the source editor though.

Hi, Tarlby. I have just edited an entry on Maconochie rations by adding an additional comment plus citation. The reference has automatically created a hyperlink for the author (Henry Buckle) to another Wikipedia article. Unfortunately the link is to a different person bearing the same name. I am trying to disable the hyperlink but keep the citation, but this does not seem to be working. How can I achieve this, please? Thanks for the question, @Bees'n'wasps. Assuming you're using the Visual Editor, this is how the link can be removed:

1. Select the reference and click "Edit". A popup should appear
2. On the left sidebar, you will see a list of parameters. Deselect "Author link" when you see it.
3. Click "Apply changes" to the top right and publish the edit

I've just removed the link for you. You can go back to this in the future if you need help with this again. Help:Template also has a ton of information for templates.

Regarding that user (i.e. the one who kicked me off to their talk page), thank you for your reply to help redirect them to be civil and constructive.

On a positive note (and sadly I would have posted this on their talk page), I find that they redirected their actions towards constructive editing, which is a good glimmer of hope when it seemed like all was lost. Nothing contentious or disruptive yet, but still worth keeping an eye on.

The attitude and disdain showed, makes me wonder if the 14 represents their age? But again, their redirected efforts and backing down from the being argumentative is a good sign. Cheers! I've been just a Wikipedia reader up until today. Earlier this year two friends in the hack community offered to create a wikipedia page for my previous life stating that if I do not seize control of the narrative someone else will which I politely declined. I would like to learn how to create a page and maintain it and wonder what are the requirements in order for me to create a page about literally myself using my handle in the hack world of the late 80s/90s on forward. (seems a tad vain lol). Short answer: You really shouldn't try it. If you want, you should learn to edit other areas of Wikipedia to understand the culture and expectations before trying to write an article.

Long answer: Please see WP:AUTO, WP:COI, WP:GNG, WP:BIO, WP:RS, WP:V, and other WP:GUIDELINES. Creating an article is really hard for most inexperienced editors and especially those who have never edited before. Before we get to the general article writing difficulties, creating an article about yourself isn't exactly the best thing to do (WP:AUTO]]. Unconscious biases will probably creep in violating WP:NPOV. The article would also need multiple reliable sources (WP:RS, WP:V) that prove the article is notable (WP:N). But if there really are multiple articles by Forbes, Vice, and such, then maybe it is actually possible.

If you really want to try making an article, make a WP:DRAFT and submit it to WP:AFC for review. Make sure it also complies with WP:MOS too! Tarlby ^{(t) (c)} 05:29, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello @Psnq0009! I think it'll be very beneficial if you read our guideline Wikipedia:Reliable Sources as it covers everything you should know about sourcing and reliability. To answer your specific questions, non-English sources are fine to use as long as they're reliable of course.

For more specific cases, you should see WP:RSP which lists commonly questioned sources from this community and the outcome of those discussions. Crowd-sourced wikis like Baidu Baike and (ironically) Wikipedia are considered unreliable to use. Britannica is considered to be somewhat questionable.

User-generated content is considered to be automatically unreliable as we don't know the qualifications or trust worthiness of the user. However, this rule doesn't apply to known experts who happen to contribute to something like YouTube.

Hello @Saimkhoja07, and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! Most people would create an official WP:DRAFT of an article, but putting your work in your user page also works.

To publish your article, you'd have to mark the draft as ready using an WP:AFC template, though it looks like removed the template. Add it back and mark the draft as submitted. An AFC reviewer may then look at the article and publish or decline it. The time an article gets reviewed depends on when someone actually wants to review it, but the current backlog would make it an estimate time of 2 or more months.

Unfortunately though, it's likely that your article will be declined. You should read the policies and guidelines; the draft is ripe with WP:PROMOTIONAL material, WP:UNSOURCED statements, and is overall incorrectly formatted (please the the manual of style. @Dimitrie569 WP:VANDALISM is defined as deliberately defying the purpose of Wikipedia, for example, writing absolute nonsense on an article. I find that replacing the subject's name in an article with this is, frankly, impossible to be in good faith. Therefore, it's vandalism. Keep in mind that we're obligated to leave warnings on the user's talk page where they have the perfect opportunity to explain what they were doing if it happened to not be vandalism.

Hi Tarlby! I noticed that you recently made an edit at KineMaster and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. I'm a pretty big fan of the game, and I've noticed you're currently working on the article and trying to bring it to FAC. Apologies if my removal of the note about the new DLC's reception was a bad move, but I do still think it would be best put as a footnote especially since the article already utilizes those for several other details. I had been wondering about the status of the article for a couple years now, since it has fallen pretty out of date. The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Candidates.

Here is the schedule:

• July 9–15 - Call for candidates
• July 18–22 - Discussion phase
• July 23–29 - SecurePoll voting phase

Please note the following:

• The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
• Prospective candidates are advised to become familiar with the community's expectations of administrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
• The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
• The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
• Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.

Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. A separate user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.

You must be extended confirmed to vote.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last approximately four days, or perhaps a little longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (you may want to watchlist this page) and transcluded to the main election page. Prove it to me otherwise. It's clear as tap water. 8 out of 9 Seperme Court Justices are christian. Not one has a degree in science. The President is talking about getting in to heaven. Most of all the appointments of this administration are christian. The theology of the entire nation and the documents that it was formed are seemingly being ignored. %24 of America voted for the FELON who stacked the Seperme Court with religious zealots who have declared war on progressive states. Hey there! I noticed the submnissiom about Gibson App was declined. The app is a free standing product partly connected to gibson but developed and owned by zoundio AB. Many of its competitors have independent wikipedia pages such as ultimate guitar, chordify and more. So it makes sense for also Gibson App to have its own wikipedia page. Does it need to be bigger and contain more content? Or any other suggestion?

My collaborator, Professor Boisvert will research through his educational affiliation for citation references for all of our published articles related to Mind Stimulation (MICST) model published since 1884. Just checking our earlies publication through Google Scholar I found that our earlies article on the model, Ahmed M & Goldman, J published in Community Mental Health shows 15 citations. Our 15 plus publications through 2020, all of which I may not have include will show many more that I plan to add as External References. I also plan to highlight that our seminal book Mind Stimulation Therapy: Cognitive Intervention for Persons with Schizophrenia, Routledge, 2013, is forwarded by Ronald Abramson, MD., and the two endorsement reviews on back cover are by two other psychiatrists, showing cross disciplinary support for the model. The sign on the building hosting the department, as well as all nomenclature within the building, has been changed to the Department of War, as it had been until the mid 20th century. This is a defacto / dejure issue, and should be treated as such. According to Wikipedias accepting rules on naming conventions, the common name, superceding the dejure name should be used, with the dejure name indicated afterwards.

Re. Talk:Easy Delivery Co./GA1: The "Development" section of the article is nearly empty due to the lack of coverage on the development of the game by reliable sources, not because I intentionally didn't write anything in that section. As one can expect, this dearth of information is common in indie games due to the lack of popularity, and is a particular problem for this game as development information only came out after the media cycle for it had already ended. The creator of the game released a development log on YouTube three weeks ago that I can write an entire two paragraphs around, but that source is (obviously) primary and would get close to the 5th misuse criteria for WP:ABOUTSELF, which is why I had chosen not to include it here. • All general sanctions imposed by the community may now be enforced at the Arbitration Enforcement noticeboard (WP:AE) as a result of a recent RfC.
• Due to the result of a recent RFC, the administrator recall process is amended to extend the deadline for a re-request for adminship to 30 days or the next administrator election, whichever is later.
• Changes to the Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy's disclosure rules include broadening the consecutive-blocks exception to cover all admin actions and removing the requirement to revision-delete permissible disclosures once they become unnecessary (instead requiring only their removal). See WP:TAIVDISCLOSE for more information.

@Tarlby, I'm not sure I understand why my sources for the client do not meet the aforementioned criteria. My sources come from local news agencies, newsletters, and finance information hubs. I take a look at the Ramp (company) wiki, and they have similar sources that are promotional pieces. My client is not as big as Ramp so yes they're not featured in CNBC or Forbes, but I don't understand what else I'd be able to provide on their behalf that ccan suffice. Any help would be be appreciated.

I haven't done a prose review yet but have some initial suggestions. Sorry if you don't want these comments. 1) The downloadable content subsection has a 1 line paragraph about the watcher. This is not ideal, could you make it two lines minimum? The sources mention more than what is in the article. 2) In the same paragraph, see WP:TITULAR. This is only an essay so doesn't have to be followed like the MoS, but the advice is still good. 3) In the FAC you wrote there is no reception on the watcher. Additional comments. 4) At the start of the last paragraph in #Development, the article quotes "believable" when the source says "believability". I've fixed other instances of misquoting but I don't want to mess up the prose here. 5) #Art design has a small MOS:SEAOFBLUE issue with the links "sci-fi" and "epic". I've made many small changes and fixes, and I'm sorry to bother about this small detail instead of fixing it, but I don't know which link is most relevant or what way it could be rephrased as to keep both links.

0) Don't know why ref 45 is deviated to be honest. If I were to take a wild guess, maybe its because the gif embeds no longer display on the page, but it's not like the archived version has them either so I'll remove the deviated mark.
1) Frustratingly, the sources seem bloated but happen to discuss nothing concerning the Watcher's actual gameplay; this one sentence is the most I could write on it. I've scoured the internet before for reliable sourcing on Watcher gameplay so I don't believe any exist, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong!
2) This advice seems reasonable. I've changed it now.
3) I've skipped over this source from my searches. I've never seen it used in an article before and it is not listed in WP:VGRS and WP:RSP. Sources gotta be high-quality, so I'd rather be cautious and not use it for now. If you can point to me where GameLuster has been used in other Featured Articles, I'd be happy to add it.
4) I've checked and it looks fine.
5) I've unlinked some stuff.

1) PCGamesN (ref 18) says nothing, but PC Gamer (ref 23) says stuff like the Watcher has to find "mysterious echoes of itself, which will require you to check out all kinds of new places on the map", and calls it "a sprawling expansion compared to the prior one in terms of sheer areas", which is more detailed than what's currently in the article, "adding regions".
