NRSVue copyright inquiry
Hey, I'm not actually sure where else would be better to ask this, so apologies if it puts you on the spot.
I want to start contributing new material to our articles on books of the Bible, and of course I frown to myself if I have to use anything but NRSV(ue) or Robert Alter. Do you know precisely whether the NCC/Friendship Press's copyright policy, as regards "500 verses with attribution" etc., is compatible with direct inline quotation on Wikipedia? I'm not sure even though it seems like it should be straightforward. Remsense 🌈 论 11:08, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- Oh, I guess Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Bible et al. are obvious. The more the merrier hopefully. Remsense 🌈 论 12:03, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Remsense: I don't know how to help with it. tgeorgescu (talk) 14:03, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
A suggestion
It's a good idea to not divulge any tells unless you have to and to just ask the editor directly. Their response can be enlightening, or damning, either way it gives you more to work with. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 16:59, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four: I agree with WP:BEANS, but this is so far removed from what people who try to pass WP:LLM for their own thinking do, that spilling the beans about it is no great damage. tgeorgescu (talk) 17:04, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
- I agree that in this instance there's no harm, just a note for the future. Apologies if you were already clued in. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 17:09, 15 June 2025 (UTC)
