I reverted an edit of yours
I reverted a recent edit of yours to Atlantic Ocean. You may want to edit it again to create the improvements you intended. I will attempt to explain:
- You removed a hidden unref tag without adding references
- You replaced "pain and Portugal quickly conquered and colonized large territories in the New World and forced the Amerindian population into slavery in order to exploit the vast quantities of silver and gold they found. Spain and Portugal monopolized this trade in order to keep other European nations out" with "Spain and Portugal quickly conquered and colonized large territories in the New World
. SpainandPortugalmonopolizedsilver and gold trade in order to keep other European nations out", which I believe may not be an improvement because it seems to remove information regarding the enslavement of Amerindian people in relation to precious metals (please let me know if that information is not true and should be removed—or make the change yourself). - You state that 'Also “Africans were exported” (as opposed to trafficked, kidnapped, or forciblibly relocated) describing human beings like a product.' I would say that two things can be true. Obviously, it is wrong to treat human beings like a product. But they were, in reality, treated as a product. So I don't think it's wrong to accurately describe that.
- You removed the phrase "a trade that became the norm and an integral part of the colonization",but I think it's a good phrase. You can restore the edits yourself if you want but I might try to make some additional edits myself but I wanted to let you know so that if you disagree with my reversion you have another chance to edit the article.

- Okay, I've finished making my more subtle changes in place of your changes to Atlantic Ocean which I recently reverted. If you think they don't go far enough feel free to make additional changes. 1101 (talk) 01:19, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
