Speedy deletion nomination of List of methematical art software

Hello Wikideas1,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged List of methematical art software for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.

If you don't want List of methematical art software to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hi Wikideas1. Thank you for your work on List of mathematical art software. Another editor, Noleander, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

This article may not comply with WP policy on accessibility (MOS:COLOR ) which makes WP suitable for visually impaired users. Specifically, color cannot be used as the only way of conveying certain information. The green in 3rd column can be kept, but there must be another mechanism also.

Ways to improve Autoship CAD/CAM

Hello, Wikideas1,

Thank you for creating Autoship CAD/CAM.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Wikipedia notability policies require a few INDEPENDENT sources that _discuss_ the subject of the article. Merely being referenced or named in a source is not sufficient. Press releases & the company's own website are not sufficient. Better sources are needed.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Noleander}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Proposed deletion of Chemistry notation

Notice

The article Chemistry notation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is no coherent topic here, a seeming generic title-phrase without defined meaning. It is a combination of all sorts of different ways of writing things in different contexts, with a seealso that is likewise a jumble of unrelated topics.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. DMacks (talk) 18:04, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

I have removed the proposed deletion tag. I was surprised it was added so soon after you started the article. To let you work on it in peace, I have moved it to Draft:Chemistry notation. It can stay there for up to 6 months before moving it back to article space.
I added tags to the categories; that keeps them from inclusion in any categories until you remove the nowiki tags. (We don't want draft articles in project space categories). I also tagged the Chemical notation redirect for speedy deletion; you can re-create it when you move your draft back to project space.
Chemical notation seems like a useful topic; I suggest you reach out to DMacks on what he suggests to improve the article. You might also ask for feedback at WikiProject Chemistry. I had left them a not earlier about this article at:

Hello, Wikideas1,

Thank you for creating Visi CAD/CAM.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Article may not meet WP:GNG notability requirements. That requires multiple IDPENDENT sources (news outlets, for example) to discuss the product/company. The sources listed are from product's own website, or are minor technical documents, or from collaborating companies.

Deletion discussion about Visi CAD/CAM

Hello Wikideas1, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Visi CAD/CAM, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Visi CAD/CAM.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Noleander}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Computational Chemistry, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. You have been adding Tex links, particularly those related to chemistry to a number of pages. In at least one case these have been reverted twice as not relevant. These additions also raise the question of whether you have an involvement in some of those Tex versions, in which case COI questions would arise. Ldm1954 (talk) 16:21, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for your contributions to Mhchem. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and in particular, the article needs at least two and preferably three reliable independent sources with significant coverage of the subject. Hello, Wikideas1,

Thank you for creating Bella Render (software).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

To meet WP notability requirements (WP:GNG) some independent sources must be provided. The article currently only has promotional press-release type sources; plus lots of internal company web sites. Independent 3rd part sources that discuss the product in-depth are required.

Proposed deletion of List of nuclear science journals

Hello, Wikideas1

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username JohnMizuki, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, List of nuclear science journals, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|JohnMizuki}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Your submission at Articles for creation: Coder (online – IDE) (August 1)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Pythoncoder was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of web content). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Regarding List of PHP software and tools

Hello @Wikideas1! I am a new page reviewer on Wikipedia. I have taken a look at your list article, List of PHP software and tools, and it appears to be entirely sourced by GitHub. GitHub, to my knowledge, is a self-published source which ordinarily means it should not be used on Wikipedia. I am unaware of whether GitHub is an acceptable source when it comes to software specific articles, so for this review I am relying on the information that is available in this discussion. Specifically the following:

'Github itself isn't a source, it's just a place for people to create accounts and upload code and other stuff. All content is entirely user generated. If it's GitHub documentation itself about Github as an entity or service, maybe, but otherwise no. The only reason I can think of is X provides the source code for Y on GitHub. Maybe A code does B, but I think that would be better to have a third party reliable source make the statement about what the code does rather than the, possibly, original research of reading the code and making the claim.'

With this knowledge, I am going to ask that you replace the GitHub sources with reliable secondary sources from reputable websites and publications. I have left the relevant template tags on the article so that other editors are aware of this. Thank you and happy editing! 11WB (talk) 10:20, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

Amtrak map

Hi, I appreciate your efforts to update the Amtrak system map. I don't want you to get discouraged, but your current map isn't quite ready for use in the article. It's a great start, though! A few notes:

  • Those datasets need cleaned up before use - they're usually a bit out of date. (I've run into the same issue myself.) Among the errors I spot are non-Amtrak stations listed as stations (Shore Line East and Atlantic City Line), the Hoosier State name still shown, the Mardi Gras Service not shown, and the Northeast Regional line still extended to the older Newport News station.
  • The very large amount of information on the map, with every single stop labeled, means that it has to be very zoomed in to read the text. (Compare the current map, where all text is readable at the typical 800px view of a file page.) There's also no hierarchy of information, so nothing allows the reader to differentiate between major terminals and minor stops. I recommend thinking about what information you want to communicate, and how. It may be best to have a simpler map for infobox use, and a more detailed map for closer examination.
  • There's a lot of overlapping text, especially in the densest areas of the map. If you want to label every single stop, you're going to have to do a lot of careful positioning of the names, and likely have insets for parts of California and the Northeast Corridor. The names also cause a lot of overlap - it might be worth leaving them off this map. It's always possible to create a diagramatic map (a la Cameron Booth's design) later to shown the routes.
  • Please take a look at MOS:CONTRAST. The dark scheme of your map is very hard to read, especially at infobox scale, and there's not nearly enough contrast. A dark lines/light background scheme like the current map is probably better, but at very least it needs better contrast.
  • Finally, please upload as a .svg file! That allows others to edit the map and keep it up to date.

Happy editing, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 05:45, 18 October 2025 (UTC)

Education maps

I removed the map (File:Michigan Colleges.webp) you added to Michigan#Education and List of colleges and universities in Michigan because it is illegible. The gray text on a dark gray background is very hard to read. It looks like you've uploaded similar maps for other states, and all of them have the same coloration issues. I would suggest that something be done to either fix the maps or remove them. Imzadi 1979  18:58, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Agreed, these maps are illegible and also not well curated, as they seem to be indiscriminate lists generated from IPEDS or a similar database, without even being filtered to match the lists that they are illustrating (e.g. our college lists don't include non-degree-granting institutions such as vocational schools). Toohool (talk) 19:31, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
Ditto and ditto. Please remove them so that others won't have to. —RCraig09 (talk) 19:59, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
It is a list of colleges and universities, those are community ‘colleges’. Wikideas1 (talk) 10:12, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Since you have refused to remove the maps, others have had to do it. If you add any more illegible maps we will be discussing it at WP:ANI. Sundayclose (talk) 23:01, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

We will have to keep an eye on this.....we also have maps for post offices, bus routes, mines etc. Moxy🍁 23:16, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
3 months later they decide its no good, if your manager was that late at work for quality control, they'd probably get fired. I think this is in retaliation to the Venezuela map, and putting up the colleges maps is somewhat political. I think wikipedia has officially become anti-information with this one. Wikideas1 (talk) 08:17, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
How long it took for everyone to notice the problem is irrelevant. The maps are bad whether they were done today or 10 years ago. And this has nothing to do with "retaliation" or "political". It has everything to do with legibility and quality. You do not own the maps or any of the articles in which you put them. You're welcome to make constructive contributions, or even create maps that are legible. But if you think Wikipedia is "anti-information" then by all mean feel free to stop editing. Sundayclose (talk) 15:27, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

stop Wikideas1, please stop restoring these images (regardless of the inconsequential colour changes) - you clearly do not have consensus for their inclusion.-- Ponyobons mots 17:19, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

I think more people should weigh in on this. Wikideas1 (talk) 17:21, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
Fine, start an RfC somewhere. In the meantime, you have multiple editors here on this page asking you to stop adding the maps, representing a clear consensus against their use. The onus is on you to get consensus for inclusion before restoring the disputed content. This is basic editing protocol.-- Ponyobons mots 17:24, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
I am among those asking Wikideas to stop posting images of such poor quality (color, font size, contrast, legibility, etc.). Among those independent of the maps, the reasoned consensus seems unanimous. —RCraig09 (talk) 18:00, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

Please stop adding these maps back to articles. File:Michigan Colleges.webp is illegible. The colors are better, but except for the title text, none of the text can be read. This is true at full size, and triply true at thumbnail sizing. I have removed that from List of colleges and universities in Michigan, and I will continue as long as you are creating maps that are useless for us. Imzadi 1979  17:58, 18 January 2026 (UTC)

stop I concur with User:Imzadi1979. This family of graphics is grossly inappropriate for an encyclopedia. There is a Wikipedia guideline that text in graphics should be about as large as text in articles' surrounding narrative text. —RCraig09 (talk) 18:15, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
I looked through a sampling of the rest of the states, about half of them, and the maps all have the same problems. They've been removed from every state article. Please do not put maps back in these articles without addressing all of the concerns. Imzadi 1979  18:15, 18 January 2026 (UTC)

Wikideas1, thank you for working on sidebar templates. Could you please clarify where did you find the approach of wrapping every list item into template {{left}} with a tag <br>? I've had to overhaul it twice already: Special:Diff/1333975119 and Special:Diff/1333324858.

Also, please take a look at guidelines for categorization of templates. Wikitext for categories should be inside <noinclude>...</noinclude> tags (examples: Special:Diff/1333324418, Special:Diff/1333974846). —andrybak (talk) 20:59, 20 January 2026 (UTC)

I think it is easiest to read that way, since it is alphabeitcal, and it is always hidden untill you click on it. But apparrently you don't agree, and thats ok. Wikideas1 (talk) 02:44, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
If that's the intention then the parameter |listclass=hlist should be replaced with |listclass=plainlist + CSS |liststyle=text-align:left. Constructing a fake list layout with <br> tags and manually aligning every list item is a bad idea. —andrybak (talk) 02:56, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
Hey thanks, yeah that looks like a way better way to do it. Wikideas1 (talk) 03:15, 21 January 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of CodeSandbox

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on CodeSandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
