You are invited to Wikipedia Day 2026, hosted by Wikimedia NYC at City Tech in Brooklyn. Help us celebrate the 25th birthday of Wikipedia! Together we will explore the past, present, and future of the free knowledge movement, and celebrate all the people, communities and ideas that make Wikipedia possible. Eventbrite registration is required for entry: Register here We'll also have a session of 3-5 minute lightning talks and we invite community members to sign up for one, though space is somewhat limited. I don't know the whole backstory so I can't fully sympathise, but as far as I understand from ARM this has all been a major fuckery, so I'm sorry for all the time it wasted. It's saddening to see an RfC derailed when without socks there was clear consensus, could of been closed a month ago if the waters hadn't been muddied. Probably one of the worst cases of discussion derailment I've seen (I guess I haven't seen many?), so happy to help clean up and grease the cogs of the WP machine once again. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes.
