Visitors to The Bahamas must obtain an e-Visa unless they are citizens from one of the visa-exempt countries.

However, citizens from certain countries must obtain a visa from one of the Bahamian diplomatic missions.

Ordinary passports
Citizens of the following countries and territories may enter the Bahamas without a visa for up to 3 months (unless otherwise noted):[1][2][3]
1 – 8 months for citizens of Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, 3 months for other citizens.
2 - 8 months.
3 – 8 months, 3 months for U.S. citizens or nationals residing in Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
Substitute visa
Citizens of India with a valid visa issued by any Schengen Area member state, Canada, the United Kingdom or the United States, or a permanent residence permit issued by any Schengen Area member state or the United Kingdom may enter the Bahamas without a visa for a maximum stay of 90 days.[5]
Holders of a permanent residence permit issued by Canada or the United States may enter the Bahamas without a visa for up to 30 days.[5]
Non-ordinary passports
In addition to countries whose citizens are visa-exempt, holders of diplomatic or official passports of Haiti, India and holders of diplomatic or official / service passports of Cuba may enter the Bahamas without a visa.

The Bahamas has signed visa exemption agreements with the following countries, but they have not yet been ratified:
Electronic visa (e-Visa)
Transit without a visa
Citizens who normally require a visa can transit without a visa for a maximum of 3 days if they have a return/onward ticket. However, citizens of Cuba, Dominican Republic, Nigeria and Pakistan are only allowed to transit without a visa or evisa if they depart on the same calendar day. Citizens of Haiti are subject to a physical visa at all times, including for transit purposes.
