Fails WP:NLIST and WP:LISTPURP previously deleted: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Sikhism from Hinduism Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Catholicism from Islam Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Hinduism from Islam Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Islam from Hinduism Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Sikhism from Christianity Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of converts to Hinduism from Christianity Of course, I do not mean to engage in the WP:OTHERSTUFF argument, but Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, being mostly descriptive rather than prescriptive, follow community consensus. This consensus was based on WP:OVERCAT, which violates WP:NOTDIRECTORY and WP:NOTDATABASE. People listed here must be notable for converting to their current religion from their previous one. I think that these pages should be merged, since the people listed here are often missing from the main lists (e.g. List of converts to Islam or List of converts to Christianity). I am also nominating the following related pages

- I see your point, I went back in the page history of the lists and it seems like they were spun off for size concerns at the parent lists that you've nominated them for merging to (which is why I think most of them are missing from the more general lists). Are you not concerned that the resulting lists will be way to long? ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 13:12, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- They can be split by last initial ie. "List of converts to Islam (A-J)" but this list style is inappropriate because it doesn't meet NLIST Sahib-e-Qiran, EasternShah 13:55, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- That would work for me, I could also see changing it to a category that we can apply to otherwise notable biographies, but that might be more labor intensive for editors. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 15:11, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- I think categories for religious converts already exist. Those seem justified to exist, although I would not be sure because I am not really knowledgeable on categories, but I do know that the articles should not exist. Sahib-e-Qiran, EasternShah 16:31, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- I'd vote Merge for WP:MERGENOT per NLIST and rearrange the content at the target page but keep the content for navigation purposes. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 09:49, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

- I'm not sure about that. With the recent move of PAM to AfD its not entirely clear what the consensus is on merge nominations closing as delete. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 07:14, 18 April 2026 (UTC)

Relisting comment: This is a mass nomination by a now indefinitely blocked user. I'm nervous enacting such a change in these circumstances even though there is clear consensus. Maybe some more input will clarify whether we should procedurally close or enact the consensus.

Thanks, Spartaz Humbug! 07:32, 22 April 2026 (UTC) - @Spartaz can you clarify what you mean by "clear consensus" given the nom is nominating for merging (per their rationale and the version of the AfD template they placed on the articles) and I supported the merge nom and the three delete votes the !votes seem to be 2 for merge 3 for delete (and one of the delete voted not opposed to the merge). - Ahh, so you're excluding the nominator from consensus because they've been blocked? If there's little other input I would suggest a procedural close.
