Non-notable band. Current sources in article are all primary. Searches on Google News and newspapers.com only turned up false positives. Previous AFD in 2015 closed as "no consensus" due to zero participation after three relists. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 23:55, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Not enough to meet WP:CONTENTFORK or WP:SPINOUT in my opinion. Largely redundant information found in each handheld's article or pages such as Sixth generation of video game consoles. Looks like this article existed before many of them. Information about cartridges I've copied to Game Pak and GBA

There is potential for a Game Boy article about industry impact. Unfortunately, this one is too generalized so it falls inline with what was discussed previously: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Game Boy Advance family, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nintendo DS family and Talk:Nintendo 3DS/Archive 7#Merger proposal. « Ryūkotsusei » 23:35, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Sources are either unreliable or do not mention the subject at all. A search only found unreliable blogs, listicles of "fun party games", seemingly self-published "games for adults" books, or tangential name-drops in works of fiction. Previous AFD from 2011 withdrawn due to passing name-drops in magazines, but these do not seem to be substantial coverage. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 22:29, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

  • Delete. I'm not even sure what notability criteria would apply to a topic like this, but I can't imagine that there are any that it meets. If not outright deleted, it could possibly be merged into Drinking game. BD2412 T 00:25, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

Dobruja Tatar language

Dobruja Tatar language (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

Although the page is sourced, the Dobruja Tatars are generally considered to be a subgroup of the Crimea Tatars, including their language as far as I know. I've also not found evidence that there's a Dobrujan dialect of the Crimean Tatar language (although I haven't searched in depth) so I am proposing to redirect this to Crimean Tatar language. Note that the cited sources don't talk about a separate Dobrujan Tatar language. Notably the seventh source is titled "Crimean Tatar-Romanian dictionary". Super Ψ Dro 21:39, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

@Super Dromaeosaurus: Excuse me if I came across as separatist. But I mean the dialect, I'm a Tatar from Dobruja myself and we have a different dialect. If necessary we can rename the page, for example "Dobruja dialect", "Dobruja dialect of Crimean Tatar" and other possibilities. And there are a lot of references that it is a dialect. Unfortunately, I can't speak English well, that may be the reason, I would have been happy if you could help me in creating of this page. TayfunEt. (talk)

Does that source explicitly say Dobrujan Tatar is a different language/dialect, or does it only use the term "Romanian Tatar" (which excludes the Tatars in Bulgarian Dobruja, even if they're few, so I wouldn't use it)? According to this source (page 320): "in Dobruja, even nowadays form three subgroups, depending on the spoken dialect. The majority speak Crimean Tatar (kîrîm Tili); the second largest group are the Tatars who speak the Noghai dialect (noghai Tili) and along the sea coast is the group that speaks the so-called coast dialect or the Dobruja Tatar dialect (yaliboyi Tili).", the Dobruja Tatars speak a total of three dialects of Crimean Tatar, which according to the Crimean Tatar article page , are precisely the three Crimean Tatar dialects that exist in the world (standard Crimean Tatar, Nogay Crimean Tatar and coastal Crimean Tatar). It thus seems Dobrujan Tatars don't have an unitary and distinct dialect.
Languages with a low number of speakers do not usually have separate articles for their dialects, primarily because there is little linguistic study of them. Therefore, I would advise to write an article on the Crimean Tatar dialects instead. Languages such as Aragonese with as few as 30,000 speakers (10 times less than Crimean Tatar) have such articles , although none of their specific dialects have a page. At Category:Dialects by language you can look at more examples. Super Ψ Dro 09:29, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

@Super Dromaeosaurus: I will try to change this page... TayfunEt. (talk) 13:11, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Question: aren't redirects supposed to be discussed at WP:RFD rather than WP:AFD? — Mhawk10 (talk) 15:49, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

There are many players with this name but this particular Bonsu appears to fail WP:NBASIC. The two references provided are trivial mentions of the subject and searches in DDG and ProQuest as well as other places are not yielding anything substantial at all. Not impressed at all by the sources. All of them are clearly paid-for press releases. With disclaimers such as The MarketWatch News Department was not involved in the creation of this content. and Sponsored: Advertising Content, the sources fail our standards for independent sourcing as per WP:IS. Aside from that, there is no evidence that this producer passes WP:GNG or WP:NMUSICIAN. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 21:15, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Santa Maria Times

ABC News

FOX News

Which cover WP:NMUSICIAN 1) "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself"

AND 12) "Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or television network" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zekrad (talk • contribs) 23:07, 2 April 2022 (UTC) WP:SOCKSTRIKE Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 16:13, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

  • In re the above sources offered: the first link is a news release distributed by a newswire; the second is the same news release; the third is sourced to IssueWire - I tried to link to one of their pages explaining how you can buy their distribution services and got dinged by the blacklist filter (!!), there; the fourth is... well, guess. The last two don't link to ABC or Fox. These are all purchased PR distributions that have been posted as page filler. Totally fails WP:NMUSIC. Delete Tony Fox (arf!) 06:22, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
I agree with this analysis. Anything marked as Music PR or relating to IssueWire is a press release and not acceptable. I stand by my opinion to delete this article. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 07:31, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
Note to closing admin: lots of SPAs surfacing here.
For those who are unaware of how news wires work, a client buys distribution of their press release, the news wire sends it to everyone and their dog, and many places pick it up and just slap it on their website to fill pages and collect hits. The sources here are two press releases, with zero news value, despite how many SPAs say otherwise. Tony Fox (arf!) 15:29, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Keep The fact that its the same articles redistributed by many major media means that it passes the WP:NMUSICIAN as for the last two links they are indeed FOX and ABC affiliated sites check the logo .. https://g.co/kgs/1ipuCU

https://m.imdb.com/name/nm13498668/bio?ref_=m_mn_ov_bio

  • Delete. Most, if not all, of the sources, seem to be just press releases that offer no substantial in-depth coverage. Despite citing many sources, none of the sources seems to be WP:IS and they seem to be just press releases pushed out by PR Newswire or similar companies. That said, this article failed WP:GNG. In addition, the user that created the article is blocked for sockpuppeting and there is no substantial change after the creation of the article. • Delete. As always, the notability test for actors is not just "a list of roles is present" — the article has to be supported by reliable sources that establish the significance of at least some of his performances, such as by verifying that he won or was nominated for major acting awards (Oscar, Emmy, Canadian Screen Award, etc.) or by analyzing the roles in enough depth to count toward WP:GNG (as opposed to just glancingly namechecking his existence in a cast list). His strongest potential notability claim is as the lead character in Zero Patience, but on checking ProQuest for that I don't find coverage about him, I just find coverage that mentions his name in the process of being about the film — and even if we accepted that anyway, NACTOR #1 still requires multiple significant roles, not just one. Socksage (talk) 00:18, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

  • For things these old, you ought to check the newspaper archives and similar (not sure if relevant since outside of US, but still....). If no sources can be found there, then Delete in its current state. Rlink2 (talk) 03:23, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
    • You should be telling us whether sources can be found. Otherwise that is not a meaningful contribution to an AFD discussion. The closing administrator knows what notability is. Xe needs you to find out how it applies. Uncle G (talk) 16:07, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
@Uncle G, Ok, I will keep that in mind. I too thought it was boerdline, hence why I said we should find more source..
I do not have access to JSTOR so I wouldn't have found that anyway. Thank you for the advice. Rlink2 (talk) 12:40, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
  • The Thorsen 2003 source already in the article is a non-trivial biography of the subject's life and work. The research not done by Rlink2 above turns up things like JSTOR 23506400 and recital dates and recordings in catalogues, so with one full biography and ancillary sources like that there is it seems just enough for an encyclopaedia article here, although I would prefer more. This is very much a borderline case. Some of the things from the main source should not have been used verbatim or in Wikipedia's voice, too. Uncle G (talk) 16:07, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

I should note, before I made this AfD discussion page, I had already checked for more information about this musician by doing a cursory search that included looking into digitized Norwegian newspaper archives, and had come up empty. That I (an Anglophone who knows little about Norwegian pianists) did not find anything doesn't mean there is nothing there. Agree that this is a borderline case -- clearly I lean towards Delete, seeing that I made the nomination in the first place. Socksage (talk) 19:42, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Her businesses have generally been very small, often failed; her charitable activities are similar and difficult to confirm, and she fails to meet notability as an author. But she is excellent at self-promotion, which I think hoodwinked the article's creator, and derailed the last AfD. She has got herself nominated for a lot of awards of the sort run by organisations who make their profit by selling seats at awards ceremonies; she has claimed awards in interviews that have names similar to existing awards, but cannot be traced, and last time we had to go to quite a lot of work to weed out stuff that didn't exist, or differentiate between nominations and awards. She produces a lot of google-hits but it's all interviews, articles in local newspapers that were probably commissioned by the subject, facebook pages, and youtube interviews.
  • In detail, the "Womanhood Global Magazine" existed, but we need independent evidence that enough people actually read it for it to contribute notability. It doesn't seem to exist any more. Momentors existed: "Momentors Leading women Ltd." was a company registered by Maureen Mbondiah in May 2020 with assets of £1, dissolved by compulsory strike-off in Oct 2021. Contributing to Ruth Strutten's book doesn't make her notable; 300 people contributed to that book! "Tales of Womanhood" is self-published via a print-on-demand self-publishing organisation. The "Against all odds" charity based in the UK of which she's patron is bothering me, because I can't find it, only a similarly-named "Against all odds still standing" which does not appear to be anything to do with Maureen Mbondiah. There is no charity registered in the UK as "Against all odds", only a facebook page. I think maybe the article has accidentally piggy-backed its notability off the wrong charity. I can find no independent evidence that the orphanage is functioning. Which leaves us with one small shopping centre, a minor talk-show with no secondary sources to indicate anyone listened, and 5 awards, two of which she didn't win, and all of which are borderline at best.
  • I'm sorry to have written a wall of text. The problem is that with Maureen Mbondiah, it is in the detail that her notability fails, so we have to check the details. Elemimele (talk) 10:43, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

Having removed a large mass of spamming in the article (which is currently unsourced), I attempted to find sources for this article, only to find that very few exist, and that none of the sources I could see constitute significant coverage. Delete: I can't believe this passed the first AfD. Did we lose some valuable references along the way? I checked the article as it stood just after the "keep" closed . Nope, worse than at present. And it still has no real references. Some have been removed since the Afd, but they weren't worth anything. Mostly primary source, or verification that X played Here. No secondary source to indicate the performance was notable in any way. signed, Willondon (talk) 19:16, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Things like this would be useful in verifying a couple of the basic facts asserted in the article, But it's a bare mention, and a primary source. Even a sportsbio might blush a little! (Too soon? Too soon.) Just doing lazy google-grade research here, but I'm really not seeing much in the way of proper secondary coverage at all. In fact, our article for the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing itself, impressive and all as it sounds, is primary sources too... Whiff of 'jobbing pro' rather than obvious actual notability here. 109.255.211.6 (talk) 20:08, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

List of aircraft accidents and incidents resulting in at least 50 fatalities

List of aircraft accidents and incidents resulting in at least 50 fatalities (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
List of aircraft accidents and incidents by number of ground fatalities (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

An arbitrary list criteria which fails WP:LISTN and WP:OR. There is no reliable source which makes a distinction about aircraft accidents involving more than 50 fatalities and those involving less. There's maybe a distinction between those involving any and those involving none (i.e. fatal accidents vs. other less tragic ones, including hull losses without loss of life), but not at an arbitrary number of fatal casualties. Given that no other source has made this compilation or anything ressembling it, then, this is by definition "original research which has not been published anywhere else". On top of the obviously OR and unsupported statements such as attributing a near exact number to each plane involved in the 2001 attacks.

On top of that, this is duplicative of other lists which separate these accidents into more plausible groups (by year of event, or aircraft type involved, or commercial aircraft accidents only [given most GA accidents are not notable, that's a valid distinction]), and the arbitrary criterion for inclusion (why 50? why not any other natural number) is not a good reason to have a separate list.

The only useful content, the "History" section, is obviously about aircraft accidents in general, except for a few select mentions of "firsts" (and whether these are truly firsts or not is hard to verify without an actual secondary source doing the OR instead of a Wikipedia editor).

The same concerns apply to List of aircraft accidents and incidents by number of ground fatalities, including the OR bit, as well as the arbitrary selection (is there really a significant difference between accidents involving fatalities on the ground and those which do not? most fatal accidents which result in ground fatalities also include on-board fatalities; the few that don't are odd-ball cases, which might be WP:ITSINTERESTING but for which no reliable source which shows actual notability (as opposed to subjective interest) exists. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 15:18, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

  • Comment I think it's reasonable to have a list article for notable fatal aviation accidents that contains a table ordered by the number of fatalities. Does such a table exist in another article? If not we certainly shouldn't delete this one.----Pontificalibus 16:53, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Note: This discussion has been included in the list of Lists-related deletion discussions. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 17:13, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Speedy keep and rename the nominator is essentially complaining about the title. Listing aircraft accidents by number of casualties makes perfect sense and the list was good enough to get featured quality (though maybe that should be reviewed per WP:OR concerns). Nomination feels very “baby and bath water” here. Dronebogus (talk) 21:08, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Keep and rename List of deadliest aircraft accidents and incidents. It's perfectly reasonable to list superlatives in a category with a cutoff even if it's arbitrary. List of largest cruise ships has a cutoff of 135,000 tons. List of largest cities has those above 5 million. List of tallest buildings in Chicago has a 600-foot cutoff while List of tallest buildings in Philadelphia has a 400-foot cutoff and List of tallest structures in Tokyo just lists the top 50. List of the oldest living people arbitrarily has 50 items. Deadly airplane accidents is a notable thing to list, but we can't have them all for 50 fatalities was chosen for selection criteria. Grouping by year or aircraft type does not provide this overall context. I do think it's also relevant to have a listing for ground fatalities. Reywas92Talk 21:14, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Keep Agree with Reywas92 about the rename. If a list is too long a discussion on the talk page can be had about a cut off point. Dream Focus 22:06, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
    • None of the addresses the OR concerns, which at this stage would remain even if the list were to be cut down: a look at the sources confirms that these are individual accident reports, they're all mostly from one source (Aviation Safety Network - which brings up issues of WP:NOTMIRROR), and of course the whole listing is dramatically too extended. It would definitively require a decent amount of WP:TNT. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 00:33, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

This is an 822-word article about Rose Liu. The article notes: "Liu, a native of San Francisco, California, is a graduate of New York University with degrees in economics and psychology. Following her graduation, Liu initially worked for her mother back home in Oakland, California, which gave her the opportunity to come to Taiwan and study Mandarin. Liu is no stranger to Taiwan, as it is not only the country where her mother came from, but also the one in which her maternal grandparents still reside, in the Sihhu Township of Yunlin County. During summer holidays in the United States of America, Liu would return to Taiwan to stay in Sihhu and spend her summers."

The article notes: "Practicality led Liu to New York University and degrees in economics and psychology. She began working in real estate and then accounting. But during a 2009 trip to Taiwan to study Mandarin in preparation of taking over her mother’s business, her cousin convinced her to sign up for the 'Super Star Avenue' competition at the height of the show's popularity."

Born in the United States, she has always obeyed her parents' arrangements and plans. First, she was admitted to New York University with double majors in psychology and economics. After 3 years of not doing well, she set up a new music brand "Xiangxiang Studio" and became the principal and struck the bell. There is sufficient coverage in reliable sources to allow Rose Liu (simplified Chinese: 刘明湘; traditional Chinese: 劉明湘) to pass Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline, which requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".

However, per WP:NEXIST: Notability is based on the existence of suitable sources, not on the state of sourcing in an article. The bold is in the source. Descriptive terms are not within the scope of disambiguation pages. Dangerous mountains and Fastest flowing rivers don't exist for a reason. Also, "crisis" is vague and broad. A country has numerous crises, financial, religious, demographic, etc. For example, why isn't Koliivshchyna, a 1768 peasant revolt, included? How about the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine from the Soviet Union? Clarityfiend (talk) 11:15, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

  • Comment – The reason this page doesn't include a list of endless potential 'Ukrainian crises' is because that's not how DAB pages work. Only things actually called 'Ukrainian crisis' in RS can be included. While this is a 'descriptive term', it has also been extensively used as a specific name for the recent crises, and is a plausible search term. I think we must retain the ability to point readers, who will no doubt use this as a search term, in the direction of the articles they want to find. RGloucester — ☎ 13:32, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Rebuttal. Can you provide examples of these "specific names", not just mentions of "a Ukrainian crisis" or "crisis in Ukraine"? If not, then there's a WP:OR issue here. You are trying to read the minds of readers to figure out what they're thinking/looking for. Clarityfiend (talk) 08:43, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
Yes, see for example either of these articles. And there are many more available in Google Scholar. RGloucester — ☎ 15:46, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
Crisis is a nebulous, poorly defined term. As I noted in a related Afd discussion, Crisis links to International crisis, which states that it is "a widespread term without a single common definition." (bolding mine) Things like 2008–2009 Ukrainian financial crisis and Ukrainian political crisis (disambiguation) would also have to be included, along with who knows what else. IMO, the inclusion criteria is simply not sharp enough to be meaningful. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:50, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
This is not how DAB pages work. Only things named in reliable sources as 'Ukrainian crisis' specifically can appear on a DAB page. See WP:DAB. RGloucester — ☎ 18:35, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

The most ambitious ones are about a discrimation case where he was not allowed to speak (sign) at the table a casino, in between the rounds when others were allowed to (without signing). In others, he is quoted in passing as a representative of the Swedish Deaf Youth Association. He is metioned as a comedian, too, mainly in passing ("Swedish only deaf stand-up comedian, Florian Tirnovan"). There is a slighly longer mention in w:sv:Dövas Tidning where there is a couple of paragraphs about him in a shorter article on a popular Youtube video where he participated, and where he is called "known from his successful [succéartade] humour site Flow TV". The best source I've been able to find is this article, also from w:sv:Dövas Tidning, which talks a little bit more about one of his projects. //Julle (talk) 01:26, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

United Precious Metals Association

United Precious Metals Association (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

The page on the United Precious Metals Association (UPMA) have several problems, and should be deleted in light of those.

Firstly, the background section of the page does not focus much on the UPMA, if at all. Its first paragraph covers the history of American gold confiscation (1933-1974), and has a "Citation needed" tag to it. Its second paragraph ("Despite this revitalization… United Precious Metals Association") contains unsourced claims such as mentioning a "revitalization of traditional gold and silver money", and uses weasel words such as calling a lobbyist (Lawrence Hilton, Esq.) for the UPMA a "sound money advocate".

The articles then mentions the UPMA's business model - however, it went to excessive depths to explain the UPMA's business model, dedicating two paragraphs for the purpose. It also contains phrases unsuitable for Wikipedia (e.g. second- and first-person pronouns, like "you can keep it in a UPMA account", emphasis mine). The header's "Special dollar conversion" sub-section contains conjectures such as the existence of "no less than six different flavors' of the dollar" (precious metals and fiat money), again using weasel words (e.g. "sound money" to refer to precious metals) and biassed statements like mentioning the "steadily depreciating value of the paper dollar", or claiming that exchanging 1000 silver dollars for a car constitutes a "trade" instead of a "purchase".

The rest of the article reads like a paean to the UPMA, complete with a fare table for their services. The "Ongoing lobbying efforts" section lists the UPMA's lobbying success, although it has little bearing to the UPMA's business.

Overall, this page should be deleted because it is either not focussing on the UMPA, or focusses on its trivial aspects.

Unfortunately the absence of significant coverage of UPMA in reliable sources that are independent of the subject mean that we wouldn't have an article about the UPMA. Springnuts (talk) 12:08, 2 April 2022 (UTC).
  • Delete. The problem here is that the association isn't notable. The article attempts to solve that problem by adding tangentially related information about precious metals and the law, but that doesn't resolve the lack of notability (and it also creates a WP:COATRACK problem). To establish notability, we need significant coverage of the organization itself, but I couldn't find much more than a few blog posts and passing mentions in the press. The UPMA thus fails WP:NORG, and given the poor sourcing and apparent original research I don't think a merger or any other alternative to deletion would be appropriate. This is a 306-word review of the book. The book review notes: " Appropriately titled "Daddy, Am I A Hindu?" the compact 182-page book, written by Ed Viswanathan, sets out to answer basic questions on Hinduism as well as clear up old misconceptions.  ...  Written in an easy-to-read, conversational tone, "Daddy, Am I A Hindu?" uses a question-and-answer format between a middle-aged parent and a teenaged offspring to great effect.  The book, published by the renowned Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan institution, covers every aspect of Hinduism from the Vedas to Tantra in a lucid manner without becoming too simplistic.  ...  Modestly priced at Rs. 45 in India, the book has been favorably received by even The Hindu which has called it 'the need of the hour...not only for those overseas but even here in India.'"

This is an 89-word review of the book. The review notes: "This is liberal, Smarta-sect Hinduism digested to an intelligent 14-year-old level as stylized in a question/answer series between a father and his teenage son. ... There are some things to disagree with: namely the author's constant referencing of Christian scripture and his promise to turn over the book's profits to Mother Theresa's shelter. "

The book review notes: "This primer, serving some of the vast sweep of Hindu belief and practice, takes the form of dialog between a Hindu father and his American-born son. ... The book is s useful not only to American Hindus but to those who want a nontechnical introduction to Hinduism as lived today."

    6. Quinn, Mary Ellen (1997-12-01). "Historical Dictionary of Hinduism". Booklist. ISSN 0006-7385. ProQuest 235402567.

This is primarily a book review about Historical Dictionary of Hinduism by Bruce M. Sullivan. The article provides one sentence about Am I a Hindu?. The article notes: "An informal, useful introduction that public libraries might consider is Am I a Hindu? The Hinduism Primer by Ed Viswanathan (Halo, 1992), which is organized topically with a question-and-answer format."

There is sufficient coverage in reliable sources to allow Am I a Hindu? (previously published as Daddy, Am I a Hindu?) to pass Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline, which requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".

  • Delete. I could not find any indication that she meets WP:NARTIST either, and my search for sourcing that would satisfy the GNG was also unsuccessful: although she's been mentioned a few times in passing by various Iranian news outlets, there does not seem to be any coverage that describes her directly and in depth.
