I tried improving this article but not much here to merit notability. Coverage from Imphal Times (2015), Sangai Express, Imphal Free Press, and E-Pao cover only the university's opening and inaugural session, not the institution itself in any depth. These are routine announcements, not significant coverage. WP:GNG requires sources that provide "significant coverage" beyond "routine news coverage." Plus India Code is a government gazette reprint, a primary legal document, not independent secondary coverage. No source in the article provides the sustained, independent, secondary coverage that WP:GNG demands. I will say that this university may warrant a brief mention at Manipur University or Education in Manipur but by itelf does not merit a standalone article under current sourcing. WP:BEFORE search returns only primary sources (state gazette notifications, UGC listing, routine press coverage of the bill's passage). No significant independent coverage of the institution itself. Fails WP:GNG and WP:NORG. Statutory recognition by a state government and inclusion on the UGC list do not establish notability on their own. Article content is essentially a restatement of the founding ordinance with no substantive coverage. Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 21:56, 25 April 2026 (UTC)

- Hi I have tried to improve the article. Can you take a look? SamBordoloi (talk) 10:39, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- Article can be improved. The university is notable in NE India. I have tried to improve the article by adding Ahmedabad Mirror article https://www.ahmedabadmirror.com/manipur-international-university-achieves-global-first-publishes-genetic-blueprint-of-fermented-fish-utong-ngari/81897256.html which is a popular and reliable source from India. Can you take a look @Flyingphoenixchips and @BhikhariInformation.? SamBordoloi (talk) 10:39, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- @SamBordoloi Thanks for the addition, but a single article on one research output doesn't satisfy WP:NORG. It's essentially science-PR coverage of a genome publication, which falls under ROUTINE. NORG/SIRS requires multiple independent sources with significant coverage of the institution itself.
- Also I went through the article and it looks like an advertorial or paid PR. will not be independent coverage. Indicators: PR dateline, an "About MIU" boilerplate paragraph, a Media Contact block listing the university's own email, and naming of the VC, Pro-VC, Registrar, AO, and research team in the standard internal-comms format. Per WP:ORGIND, content "substantially influenced by, or originated from" the subject is not independent regardless of the publishing outlet. Per WP:NEWSORGINDIA, Indian outlets routinely run undisclosed paid/sponsored placements, requiring heightened scrutiny Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 12:19, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Flyingphoenixchips , thank you for looking at the source. Ahmedabad Mirror is actually a popular outlet in India. The article looks like news. It is difficult to understand that it is an advertorial. SamBordoloi (talk) 08:33, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @SamBordoloi thanks for engaging on this. Even with a reputable outlet like Ahmedabad Mirror, what matters is whether the content is independent. A rule of thumb is to see how it is written and also look at indicators here (boilerplate, internal contacts, staff listings) which are very typical of PR-origin material.

Fails WP:GNG due to lack of significant independent coverage. No independent, secondary source provides significant coverage of this department as a distinct subject. Citations 1, 2, 3, 7 mention the department only in passing within broader works about universities or regional higher education. Citation 4 is the department's own university webpage, which is a primary/self-published source and explicitly excluded from establishing notability under WP:GNG. Citations 5 and 6 discuss Manipuri as a language, not the department specifically. Coverage of the subject itself is required, per WP:GNG. Citations 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 are pages from affiliated college departments or archived institutional pages, which are primary and self-published sources. WP:GNG requires sources to be "reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject." Per WP:GNG, notability is not inherited from the parent institution (WP:NOTINH). The article should be merged into the Assam University article or deleted. Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 21:36, 25 April 2026 (UTC)

- Merge to Assam University as an ATD-M. Agree with the source analysis provided by the nominator, there is barely any WP:SIGCOV containing sources about the department itself. Some of the sources talk only about the language, instead of the department. others are primary sources from university newsletters and self published platforms like e-pao. - Keep : The article's sections, "Achievements", "Courses", "Annual events" provide enough information about the department with relevant direct-to-verify citations from the third party references. Therefore, the article passes WP:GNG. Nothing questionable! Thank you! :) Haoreima (talk) 23:16, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, I know there is enough information. There is enough information for almost everything. This however is not the same as meeting WP:GNG. WP:SIGCOV requires sources that address the department itself directly and in depth, not sources that merely mention it in passing while reporting on something else. Going through the cited references, the bulk fall into three buckets: (1) routine local news about faculty members receiving awards, attending seminars, or being appointed elsewhere, where the department is named only as an affiliation, (2) event notices for Mother Language Day, book releases, and similar functions hosted at the venue, which are routine announcements , and (3) primary or quasi-primary outlets like thesangaiexpress.com, Imphal Free Press, and e-pao headlines that recycle press releases. None of these constitute independent, secondary coverage of the department as a subject. The "Achievements" section is essentially a list of things faculty did, not coverage of the department, and notability is not inherited from individual professors, the parent institution or the Manipuri language. You are conflating verifiability with notability. Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 01:21, 26 April 2026 (UTC)

- Keep I think we have enough significant coverage here. This 1946 article from The Paxton Record documents that calls for an airport in the town were made early on. This article from The Pantagraph chronicles the early construction and funding the airport received, with this one documenting applying for a landing permit. Here we find some opposition to the proposal. A 1976 article discusses potential annexation, and this article confirms the annexation by the city— there are plenty more across the 70s, 80s, and 90s that I can add. We even have an accident that occurred here. I think the Flying source currently in the article counts for some significant coverage, even if its not the focus, but this article from the Iroquois County Times-Republic also mentioning the sale definitely counts. Jordano53 16:38, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- Keep. The Flying Magazine and News-Gazette articles combined with the articles discovered by Jordano53 get it across the bare minimum for inclusion. Could probably use some expansion, though. nf utvol (talk) 18:59, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

Nominating for deletion as it clearly fails WP:NBOOK and WP:GNG. The book is self-published via "Rajmangal Publishers".
The provided sources aren't independent, in-depth reviews; they are simply local news blurbs, minor web portals, and PR-style announcements about the book launch. This appears to be a cross-wiki promotional effort by a single-purpose account. it should be deleted. AMAN KUMAR (talk) 20:59, 25 April 2026 (UTC)

- Keep: I think this nomination may stem from a misunderstanding of the notability and sourcing requirements. Looking at the article, the subject meets WP:NBOOKS, as it aligns with at least one of the criteria. It also meets WP:GNG, since there is coverage across several reliable, published sources. The point about the book being self-published doesn’t seem to have strong evidence. Having a ‘Manuscript Submission’ page (see ) on a publisher’s website is common and, by itself, doesn’t prove self-publishing. Without a reliable source clearly stating this, it feels more like an assumption than a fact. Regarding the sources, I don’t think it’s fair to claim they are not independent or lack depth. The article includes coverage from notable and established outlets (newspaper and websites both) like Dainik Bhaskar, Rajasthan Patrika, Prabhat Khabar, News 24 (Indian TV channel), Punjab Kesari, TwoCircles, Countercurrents.org, Muslim Mirror and Millat Times. At least some of these provide more than just brief mentions, which aids in establishing notability. The concern about my account being single-purpose doesn’t really address the main question of whether the subject itself is notable. In any case, I have worked on other articles as well, including creating Maniguh and Nishant Kumar (politician), among other contributions. Overall, it seems the nomination relies on assumptions that are not clearly supported by evidence. Based on the sources available and the relevant guidelines, the article meets Wikipedia’s standards for inclusion. Wanderer (talk) 03:52, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- Keep and recommend reading these sources:. They can be used for improving the article. Koshuri (あ!) 05:08, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- Comment I understand why the sources in the article inspired skepticism: several are publication announcement or "book launch" coverage that do not contribute to NBOOK; many sources are from advocacy / special interest publications, which may have a biased reason to promote the book; and the problems at WP:NEWSORGINDIA can make it hard to be confident that coverage is not promotional. In this specific case, I am not convinced either way.
- The only article in Patrika News is a mere announcement without even a publication date; the three in Dainik Bhaskar are similarly event-based and not relevant to NBOOK.
- The three articles linked by Koshuri are at least book reviews (ie, sigcov), but I am not sure if they really meet our standards as RS. I find two discussion at RSN casting doubt on OneIndia: . Muslim Mirror and Millat Times I am less certain about; I don't have to context to know if these are just natural review venues (the way we'd simply expect The Advocate (magazine) to review major works of queer literature) or whether there is reason to see them as non-independent. All the reviews are so intensely glowing it's hard not to be suspicious.
- But the submission guidelines at Heritage Times (review here) do say that they have a thorough editorial review process, and Millat Times states that they explicitly identify sponsored content when they run it. Those look like the best option for an NBOOK pass; I wasn't able to find any better sourcing elsewhere. I would appreciate hearing from someone who knows the area better, how reliable these sources are. ~ le 🌸 valyn (talk) 22:31, 26 April 2026 (UTC)

The author of this book Syed Amjad Hussain is a glocked sockpuppet and a serial spammer blocked multiple times on wikipedia for socing and upe. Please sse Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Syed amjad08. As far as I can see all the sources are paid promo by this long term spammer to popularise himself per WP:NEWSORGINDIA. Since I can read Hindi, this book appears to be a very lazy effort and probably chatgpt generated, not at all useful, this is not THE first time, please see deletion log at Draft:Syed Amjad Hussain, another effort to popularize himself. I suspect all the keep votes are either from the same sock master or from his meat puppets, requesting checkuser here to vanish this long term nonsense. I will ping @bonadae who had earlier sent this to draft space, but from blackmail from the newbie new page patroller and this spa account to take this matter to ANI, Bonadea reluctantly send this to mainspace. Requesting administrator attention here. If this banned sockpuppet is so popular then why none of the professor from western world is citing him or reviewing his book unlike the paid jargons? Thanks.~2026-25560-23 (talk) 01:19, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- I am not sure how an IP editor can make detailed claims with this level of certainty. It appears likely that this is a registered user commenting anonymously especially since similar points have been raised elsewhere including the articles talk page, where I responded but the IP editor has not replied for over twenty five days.
- That said, speculation about who's the author is not something that can be resolved here and is not directly relevant to the notability of the book. The book is what matters. If the author of the book has been blocked, that in itself does not affect the notability of the book. Wikipedia assesses subjects based on reliable sources not on the editing history or status of individuals associated with the book.
- Regarding comments on the content or quality of the book this is not a review forum. Personal opinions about whether the book's good or useful are not relevant here. The book has already been. Reviewed by multiple writers and sources. For instance as cited in Dainik Bhaskar, the foreword of the book is written by Dr. Muhammad Sajjad Alam Rizvi, Head of the History Department at Presidency University, Kolkata. Another report in Dainik Bhaskar mentions that the book received a review from Deputy Municipal Commissioner in the Government of Bihar IAS Dr. Shahid Raza Khan (IAS 2019 BATCH).
- Dainik Bhaskar is among the widely read newspapers in Bihar and it regularly covers regional literary and cultural developments so its coverage of the book is relevant in context. The book is what we are talking about.
- The argument that recognition must come from professors in the world is not aligned with Wikipedias guidelines. The book is in Hindi and coverage from Indian publications is entirely valid for establishing notability of the book. Additionally recent coverage shows that the author has been invited to the Madina Books Fair by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission under the Ministry of Culture Saudi Arabia. While this alone does not establish the notability of the book it is context in response to the claims being made about the book.
- Overall these points are being raised to clarify the inaccuracies in the comment about the book. The discussion should remain focused on sources and notability of the book than assumptions or personal remarks, about the book. Wanderer (talk) 05:37, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- @IAmTheOnlyUnknownWandererInIndia, Come-on we all know, how easy it is to purchase all such fake reviews in India. I think English Wikipedia administrators and other moderators are intelligent enough to diffrentiate between the paid spam and the legit reviews. Based on the decade long spamming history by this banned serial spammer we can not trust him for anything legit. To strengthen my case I would like to post his linkedin profile, here, https://in.linkedin.com/in/syed-amjad-hussain-41b800228 where he explicitly stated that he is a contributor to Wikipedia since 2016. - I don't know who you are, but posting comments from an IP address and making the same claims over and over again without clear proof is making the conversation more difficult to follow. That being said, we can't settle any speculation about the past editors here. The article itself should still be the main focus. Currently, several editors have commented "keep," and it has also been pointed out that WP:NBOOKS allows for the consideration of more than one source when determining notability. That assessment doesn't change if you keep saying things that aren't true. General assertions that all such coverage is “paid” are grave and necessitate unequivocal evidence, rather than mere assumptions. You can't just dismiss well-known publications like Countercurrents.org, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, Millat Times and others mentioned in the article without showing that they aren't independent or promotional. Mentioning supposed past behavior or external profiles of the author of the book does not make the subject important. AfD isn't about who wrote it; it's about whether the subject meets WP:GNG and WP:NBOOKS based on reliable, independent sources. Generalizations about "fake reviews in India" do not replace analysis based on sources. You should judge each source on its own. The conversation should stay on track with policy and evidence that can be checked. The subject meets Wikipedia's standards for inclusion based on the coverage that is available. - Comment by Nominator: Stepping back in to focus on the actual sources. I completely agree with User:LEvalyn—the Bhaskar and Patrika pieces are just routine book launch coverage, not reviews. The articles from smaller portals read exactly like glowing PR summaries. Given the well-known issues with paid coverage, these are massive red flags for a self-published book.
- Also, to address Wanderer's point: a foreword by a professor or a comment by an IAS officer is part of the book itself. They are primary sources, not independent coverage.
- Finally, the serious COI and sockpuppetry concerns raised by the IP only confirm the suspicion that this is a coordinated promotional effort. We still lack the truly independent, critical reviews required by WP:NBOOK. The nomination to delete stands. AMAN KUMAR (talk) 15:44, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

But the reviews included in the article do not contain many of the hallmarks of churnalism - they offer varying verbiage, for instance. - Keep because Nobody's been working on it is on the list of arguments to avoid in deletion discussions. Subjects are notable, and therefore qualify for a Wikipedia:Separate, stand-alone article when the real world has suitable sources. Proposed merge, from what I can gather after a few searches, the Valmiki caste article and the Chuhra article are referring to the same community, I am nominating this one because it is the smaller of the two, altough it could be merged vice-versa since "Valmiki" seems to be the current preferred term. nahle.ghini (talk) 19:51, 25 April 2026 (UTC)

- Comment: A cursory look at some of the sources seems to support the notion that it's a single community, though both names have different connotations—the older label is considered derogatory. Since the current common name is Valmiki, that should be the title and the other article merged into it. regards, TryKid [dubious – discuss] 20:09, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Noting that I refactored the AfD template with the new merging parameters and added the {{merge-from}} template to the proposed destination article to better reflect the nomination. @User:Nahleghini feel free to revert that if you prefer the old deletion version of the template. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 20:56, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Merge Chuhra into Valmiki caste. As TryKid mentioned, Chuhra is a pejorative term and the WP:COMMONNAME is Valmiki. Essentially, both are the same group of people. BhikhariInformer (talk) 03:38, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- Support merging Valmiki into Chuhra, not the reverse. Chuhra is the original term for the caste and used in sources. It may be used as a pejorative in India in some contexts but Wikipedia is not censored. MaplesyrupSushi (talk) 00:58, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- Support merging of Valmiki caste into Chuhra. The Chuhra caste already combines Valmiki and Balmiki and there is no need for additionaal page as the article of Balmiki is redirection to Chuhra. Himankshu (talk) 17:47, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Relies extensively on original research and possibly contains fancruft. Looking at the sources for the page i am 99% sure this article has no reliable sources attached to it. (the Youtube links could possibly be reliable? if we really want to stretch it out that far). Theres very few limited sources discussing Thomas characters, so if anything these issues have close to a 0% chance of being fixed (and there are certainly not enough reliable sources to cover all of the trivia in the article). Similar to what happened with the List of Thomas & Friends characters article earlier this month, either a full on deletion or a page merge with List of The Railway Series characters sound like the more probable options for this article. This is a biased geostub article where the only sources are from wikimapia... Which is user generated. Searching malarana shour on Google does give me a very detailed article from Onefivenine, but that is also user generated. Searching more does not give me anything of interest. Normally I'd give very extreme geostubs a pass because of how relaxed the notability guidelines of geographic places are, but this is way too extreme. None of these sources show a GNG/SNG pass:
- is a two line piece, slightly longer on the modern website, (though using a different first name), but glancing at the site's about me page reveals that it works much more as a distribution platform for Canadian artists than an independent source with a reliability for fact checking.
- Wikipedia mail list archive.
- Local interest story, very quote heavy, so there's not much independent content to pull from, but not bad.
- passing mention, gives middle initial, quotes him, and gives his age + one thing he did for Wikipedia. Hardly SIGCOV
- blog post from "Concurring Opinions, LLC, a Pennsylvania Limited Liability Company" Some stuff might be okay from a SME point of view on legal topics, but it's from the same author as the Emory journal and the vast majority of the blog post is just a quote from Roshuk
- NYFA profile appears to be an OK source (though dead), though from the tone of the bio I have a sneaking suspicion that it's not independent. Let's assume it is, though.
Other sources I found include a passing mention from the 80s listing him as one of 82 award winners, a passing mention of an award I think he won as a teenager (along with several hundred other students). But I can't really find anything else, and two sources (one fluffy human interest, one NYFA profile) isn't, imo, enough to prove notability. - Magoosh (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Disclosure: I have a tangential connection to this company in my professional life (higher ed admissions). But this nomination is based strictly on a policy-based review of the article's sourcing.
Magoosh fails to meet the heightened sourcing standards of WP:NCORP. While the company has received media mentions, they do not constitute "significant coverage" from independent, secondary sources:
-A significant portion of the "Recognition" section (Inc. 500, Bizjournals, Entrepreneur 360, SF Business Times) consists of tabular data and formulaic rankings. Per WP:NCORP, being listed in a ranked table is considered routine and does not establish notability.
-The Inc.com and Daily Californian sources focus on the tragic passing of co-founder Hansoo Lee. These human-interest stories provide biographical coverage of the individual, not the required depth of coverage regarding the company's own business operations or impact.
-Sources like Killerstartups and Xconomy are essentially interviews or brief product announcements. These lack intellectual independence required by NCORP, as they rely heavily on the company's own narrative.
The article has been tagged for "additional citations" and "excessive reliance on closely associated sources" since at least 2018 (and recently updated in 2025), indicating a long-term inability to find truly independent, high-quality secondary sources.
As it stands, the article functions more as a corporate directory than an encyclopedia entry. IdealNewst (talk) 16:52, 18 April 2026 (UTC)

- Yes, of course. The reasons are lack of notability and coverage, this was just an additional tidbit (it was what prompted me to look into his notability); I guess I should have semicoloned or parenthesized it. Gamapamani (talk) 16:35, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Looking at this article, it doesn't look there there ever has been sufficient sourcing, but also its spent most of its history being vandalized, I have no idea if this person would be considered notable, as I don't really know anything about them, and the lack of information doesn't help. When googling this person the first link is this page, which isn't helping matters either.
- Looking through the page's history, I don't think there's ever been a time where this page had any sense, for that reason I'd recommend Delete

- I'm not sure what you think the errors are or how you would fix them – again, you just copied and pasted content from one page to another, making a WP:REDUNDANT WP:DUPLICATE. Content forks like that should be avoided. There's a "Motives" section on that page, and putting it on another article does not improve anything. — Reywas92Talk 04:51, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

The result was procedural close as moot. A relatively new article on the American band called Hades (formed in 1978) was created by Lofi Gurl who then voluntarily redirected the namespace to the Norwegian band now called Hades Almighty, for whom there has been no argument about notability. An article on the American band might be resurrected in the future if Lofi Gurl or anyone else can find more robust sources. - Oh shit you're right. Um, I'm keeping the redirect because the American band is mentioned in the Norwegian band's article, and we don't have an article for the American band yet because I havent gathered enough sources for it yet. Disputed drafification; WP:DRAFTOBJECT applies. The draft has now been moved twice to mainsapce. In the intervening period a copy and paste move created a new article. This was all performed by the same determined editor. No version of this passes WP:NFILM. Sourcing is dubious. WP:TIMESOFINDIA merits examination. - Keep — TOI is certainly on the thin side and TeluguCinema is of marginal reliability. However, a cursory search reveals additional reviews from
123telugu Reviewand ABP Live Review. EmilyR34 (talk) 03:58, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- This is not a review. It is a bullet point overview of the film. Same as the other. Where do either actually review the film? --CNMall41 (talk) 19:54, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- Good catch. I've struck 123telugu per consensus on its reliability. I've updated the ABP Live link to the actual review. TOI is a short and likely misses the NFILM "full-length" mark. I'm still counting TeluguCinema toward notability; despite being unattributed, the critical tone and depth confirm independence. EmilyR34 (talk) 04:55, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

- Keep references 8 and 9 in the article are definitely reviews and as they are negative they show independence. The TOI is no consensus on reliability but film reviews are uncontroversial content particularly when they are negative. 123 Telegu is definitely a negative review if you read the whole article but 123 Telegu is an unreliable source as per WP:ICTF while I agee the ABP piece is not a review unless the translation is very wrong, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 00:05, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

- Keep All the references are reliable. While creating the article, I have noticed that there is a draft already existingso I have moved the article to the mainspace and then published it with reliable sources. The nominator here is pointing out about copy and paste, let's say if I want to create the same article the same content what else conetent is to be included. The cast, music and all the details will remain the same. I had previously created many new film articles directly on the mainspace with reliable sources, so what's the need to edit the draft article here. Check WP:ICTF. In the comments column it is clearly written "Uncontroversial content such as film reviews are usable". Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 12:44, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

Another potentially dubious article on an alleged radio station from the Philippines. I can't find anything online about DXSA and I am extremely concerned by this edit. Note that the edit removed a comment that said Prime FM Tacurong is NOT licensed by the NTC per recent listing. Therefore, it DOES NOT have an official callsign. DON'T MAKE ONE UP. OR ELSE it will be reverted immediately. Based on that, I am concerned that this callsign may be a hoax but I am happy to withdraw if independent WP:RS can be provided for this callsign. This article has a very confusing history. It was created with WP:A7 already in place and Talk:DXSB shows that the creator used what appears to be a sock account to contest their own speedy deletion request.
Furthermore, the article itself is called 'DXSB' but also talks about a different radio station called 'DXQC' at one point. My searches can't find evidence that either radio station exists. The article talks about 'Infinite Radio 93.3' as well, which is DXSJ, which already exists as a redirect.
I can't find evidence that the radio station 'DXSB' meets WP:GNG and I think that there is also a fair argument for WP:TNT based on all of the above. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 08:58, 25 April 2026 (UTC)

- To add, Giancarlo1928 has made disruptive edits on St. Jude Thaddeus Institute of Technology, which I reverted and warned the user several times. - Speedy close without prejudice to later renomination. There is a central discussion about the correct handling of "comparison of" articles at at the Village Pump here and a discussion of the nominator's behaviour at ANI here. Holding AfDs while these matters are still unresolved is disruptive and likely to lead to inconsistent and suboptimal outcomes. Let's get a decision that can help us decide which of these tabular comparison articles are legit and then implement that coherently, not as hundreds of individual AfDs. --DanielRigal (talk) 11:47, 26 April 2026 (UTC)

- Delete: The rationale is correct. I cannot find any source that compares these XML editors in the way that the article does (e.g. across payment models, whether they support XPath search, when their latest release was, and/or what licence the editors were released under). The choice to compare these editors across these specific features is a choice made by an individual editor, which is original research. Per WP: DELREASON, we have a broad mandate to delete any content that is unsuitable for an encyclopedia. An article that consists entirely of original research meets that bar, so this article should be deleted. HyperAccelerated (talk) 00:50, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

Delete The only time I ever hear of him is when he tries to introduce/speak about new features and policies at Twitter (only for the owner to undermine him and go 'lol no' because they always seem to be about reducing the crap and bluecheck garbage there and of course he doesn't like that), and we don't have a personnel article regarding the company. Otherwise getting your unnotable WP:SERIESA companies picked up by a bigger company (and sketchy ones targeted towards teens no less) is of niche interest, nor being an ego massager. Current sources in article are IMDb, a single Gannett article on the 1994 version of The Price Is Right, and YouTube uploads of episodes. A WP:BEFORE found only a couple passing name-drops of the Arsenio role, which confirm literally zero biographical information. The only post-Arsenio hit was the aforementioned Gannett article, which says nothing except for The Arsenio Hall Show's former announcer, Burton Richardson, is the guy yelling "come on down!"
. I found no coverage of his roles on WinTuition or Russian Roulette, and any other mentions after the fact are one-sentence name-drops of him briefly returning to Price (namely, television Q&A columns or "local contestant to appear on game show" articles that happened to fall on an episode where he was filling in). GBooks gave only routine directory listings in books on game shows, one-sentence mentions of him announcing Arsenio, books composed of Wikipedia articles, or false positives. JSTOR gave entirely false positives for other people with the same name.
I haven't found a single scrap of biographical information anywhere. I could not confirm the DOB or place of birth, nor so much as the fact that he even existed prior to Arsenio. Similar rationale to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lakeshore Corridor. I tried searching for secondary sources that mention and describe the term, but they are very limited, and what few that do exist are commercial journals, industry publications, and news stories about local businesses. None of them are what I'd call reliable sources, nor do they really describe the area, aside from a few mentioning at best that it's a (vaguely if defined at all) area around Interstate 90 in Northwest Chicago. Therefore, it fails WP:N. My interpretation is that it appears to be a WP:NEO created by local businessmen and investors as a marketing/branding term that hasn't really been promoted outside of those circles. I had doubts about the subject’s notability, though I would be glad if the credibility of the award she received, the Order of Laurels, could be established. This article's title is ambiguous with Nankai megathrust earthquakes, and that's because this article is merely about a subset of the other topic. Both of them are about Nankai megathrust earthquakes. I don't see a reason for this to exist as a separate article. — BarrelProof (talk) 21:00, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: Science and Japan. — BarrelProof (talk) 21:00, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- Delete: ATD Merge to Nankai megathrust earthquakes, anything sourced and unique. The lead states, "are great megathrust earthquakes." Improper split as too similar. The lead of this article states, "are major megathrust earthquakes". -- Otr500 (talk) 22:38, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- Keep or be consistent and merge all three applicable articles to Nankai megathrust earthquakes. There are three types of Nankai megathrust earthquakes, distinguished by the region of the Nankai Trough in which they occur. The three regions are Tōkai, Tōnankai, and Nankai, so we have different articles on Tōkai earthquakes, Tōnankai earthquakes, and Nankai earthquakes. While both Nankai earthquakes and Nankai megathrust earthquakes have "Nankai" in the title, Nankai earthquakes is no less notable and no less distinct a topic than the other two. Dekimasuよ! 19:25, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
- If we're going to keep it, the article should have a clear and distinct title. Right now it has a title that is completely confusing with the Nankai megathrust earthquakes topic. Both articles say they are about megathrust earthquakes of Nankai. Should the four articles be merged? How about Nankai megathrust earthquakes of the Nankai region or Nankai Trough earthquakes of the Nankai region? — BarrelProof (talk) 01:33, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- Redirect or merge. It looks like the redundancy issue would be settled by just having one article at least for the two main articles in question. My first thought is that Nankai earthquakes actually might be a good target overall (which would include content from the megathrust article). That way you could have the article split itself up by the subtopics discussed so far internally or have a sort of WP:NATDAB. Basically get people to the general topic through the search bar first and then figure out additional navigation like explaining the megathrust content, etc. I'm not an earthquake person though, so do you think that approach would work BarrelProof? If it's too generic of a title to house the two I could understand that, but at least in my first superficial glance through, this seems like it works. KoA (talk) 21:39, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

- Delete, obviously without prejudice against recreation if he wins the seat in November. As always, people do not get Wikipedia articles just for standing as candidates in future elections — the notability bar at WP:NPOL is holding a notable office, not just running for one, while an unelected candidate gets an article only if they were already notable for other reasons (e.g. preexisting notability as a writer or actor or athlete) besides being a candidate per se. As well, the existence of some campaign coverage (a thing which every candidate in every election everywhere can always show) is not sufficient in and of itself to claim that the candidate is exempted from NPOL on grounds of having passed GNG — we're writing history here, not news, so the test isn't "how many hits does his name get in the current news cycle?", it's "are those hits demonstrating that he's accomplished anything permanently significant enough that an article about him will still need to exist in 2050?" Winning election to a notable office passes that test, while being an as yet unelected candidate for office does not. Bearcat (talk) 12:26, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Delete, I agree, but this is also a bit of a questionable interpretation of WP:NPOL. The guidelines say nothing about candidates needing to be "already notable for other reasons," and precedent has made quite clear that candidates who receive a greater than WP:ROTM amount of WP:SIGCOV may indeed qualify as notable. See Amy McGrath, Graham Platner, Dan Osborn, India Walton, and of course the Theresa Greenfield debacle. DiscoursesonLivvy (talk · contribs) 05:36, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. Candidates for political office are not inherently notable and sourcing does not rise above routine election coverage. Esolo5002 (talk) 13:20, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- For the record, I am strongly opposed to a redirect. We do not redirect every candidate to every election. This person has only recieved routine coverage and there is no reason why they deserve a redirect over any other political candidate. If we redirected every candidate that went through AFD, that would end up being a great workaround for these candidates. Esolo5002 (talk) 16:13, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

A variant of Godzilla that appears in a trilogy of anime films. A brief search yields very little that isn't just plot summary, and the current article contains little bar a brief paragraph on its design. A viable AtD is to Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, which is the character's debut film appearance and where most of the info relating to it pertains to. The subject passes Wikipedia:Notability#Stand-alone lists, which says, "One accepted reason why a list topic is considered notable is if it has been discussed as a group or set by independent reliable sources, per the above guidelines; and other guidelines on appropriate stand-alone lists." I will show below that "tourist attractions in Taiwan" has been treated as "a group or set by independent reliable sources".

The article notes: "In the present study, the newly-elected top 100 popular tourist attractions in Taiwan (Taiwanese Popular Tourist Destinations, 2011) were used as the research target and a novel online recommendation system was proposed to overcome the problems of knowledge-based methods, providing personalized tourist information to users."

Yushan’s peak is the perfect spot from which to catch a shot of the “sea of clouds” sweeping over the mountains at dawn, Brown said. ... Must-see temples include the Longhsan and Guandu temples in Taipei, while Greater Tainan is also a must, he wrote. ... The most famous of these is the National Palace Museum in Taipei ..."

The article notes: "People are invited to vote for Taiwan’s top tourist attractions in an online poll and get a chance to win weekly prizes, the Tourism Administration said on Friday. ... In the south, recommended sites include the Alishan Forest Railway (阿里山森林鐵路) and Tefuye Historic Trail (特富野古道) in Chiayi County; Sicao Green Tunnel (四草綠隧) and Yanshui Old Street (鹽水橋南老街) in Tainan; Dragon and Tiger Pagoda (龍虎塔), and Shoushan Zoo (壽山動物園) in Kaohsiung; and Dapeng Bay (大鵬灣) and Wutai Township’s (霧臺) Kabalelradhane (神山部落) communities in Pingtung County."

The book notes: "With all these concerns in the background, the question of how to categorize Taiwan's tourist attractions was also fraught in the postcolonial period. When Taiwan first began to attract mainland tourists in 1946, introductory information was often copied from Japanese tourist materials, including the famous list of "Eight Views and Twelve Famous Sites" (bajing shiersheng) Based on the result of a popular contest run by the Taiwan Daily (Taiwan nichi nichi shinpõ) in 1927, this list of tourist attractions—which were selected through readers' votes and decisions made by a mostly Japanese committee-soon became the standard tourist attractions of Taiwan endorsed by the colonial government. Scattered along Taiwan's main railway line, this collection of sites had framed the way people viewed colonial Taiwan. In fact, the original result from 1927 included two more special (bekkaku) sites—Taiwan Shrine (Taiwan jinja in Japanese) and New High Mountain (Niitakayama in Japanese). The former was the highest ranking Shinto shrine in Taiwan, and the latter was the tallest mountain in Taiwan and indeed the entire Japanese empire. Given their symbolic status in Taiwan's colonial landscape, these two sites were left out of the China Traveler articles, while the rest of the list was replicated as representative scenic spots. After 1946, however, this list from the colonial period disappeared from China Traveler and the travel media, even as Chinese tourists followed similar itineraries from the colonial period."

Does not appear to pass the "significant coverage" test in WP:ORG. I checked the NYT references. The first one is a two sentence snippet from the owner about nannies being forced to sign confidentiality agreements. The second is about how hard it is to find nannies with small snippets of an interview of the president and vice president of Pavillion about such difficulties. The third is about how hard it is for some nannies to find a high paying job and follows a nanny interviewing at Pavillion. The final one is a one sentence snippet from an interview with the president about the power struggle between nannies and parents. The AOL, Bloomberg and CNN Money links are dead but they seem like they are in a similar vein.
