None of the third party sources in the article give WP:SIGCOV to Hengaw. Instead, they simply cite Hengaw's reports. The only source that gives SIGCOV to Hengaw is Hengaw's own website, which is obviously not an WP:INDEPENDENT source. VR (Please ping on reply) 15:21, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Oppose: Clearly notable (WP:NOTE). Cited by The Guardian , AP news , Reuters , BBC France 24 , UK government website . --HistoryofIran (talk) 18:45, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

I went through all of the links that are not behind a paywall. Not a single one of them gives WP:SIGCOV to Hengaw. If you disagree, kindly inform us which of the source gives SIGCOV and how many words are dedicated to Hengaw itself (not third parties that Hengaw talks about).VR (Please ping on reply) 04:42, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Oppose. Hengaw is frequently cited in news outlets as a source of information, including by Amnesty. If we keep this article, we can link it, as in: "According to human rights organisation Hengaw...." and then readers or editors who like to investigate, can easily find what organisation this is. Now I don't know whether there is a specific Wikipedia policy or guideline for this argument, as I am not very familiar with these types of articles, but I think my point is still important. Lova Falk (talk) 10:51, 21 March 2026 (UTC).

This is a great example of trivial coverage. The Amnesty source mentions Hengaw only once and merely says "reports from independent media outlets and human rights organizations based outside Iran with access to informed contacts inside the country, including prisoners and the families of executed victims. These human rights organization include Baloch Activists Campaign;1 Haalvsh, a Baluchi human rights organization;2 Hengaw Organization for Human Rights;3 Human Rights Activists News Agency;4 Iran Human Rights;5 Kurdistan Human Rights Network;6 and Kurdpa Human Rights Organization." This is not SIGCOV.VR (Please ping on reply) 18:10, 23 March 2026 (UTC)

Oppose. Too frequently cited, especially in the recent events in Iran by reliable news outlets and other human rights organisations to claim it is not notable enough. Rahammz (talk) 19:21, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep per above. There are two metrics here: one is WP:GNG, which is covered by WP:SIGCOV in various sources above (citing a big chunk of a story to their work qualifies here, in my book). The other is the repeated criterion across notability standards that a person/institution etc should be considered notable within their field by others within it, or considered at the "top" of whatever field they're in. Being widely cited and relied upon by high-profile organisations, such as the UK government, major charities and major news organisations, fits this. UndercoverClassicist T·C 09:39, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
Can you provide any sources that give WP:SIGCOV to Hengaw itself and not to third parties that Hengaw talks about? And can you tell me from which policy you derive the second criterion from? VR (Please ping on reply) 18:08, 23 March 2026 (UTC)

The article has a lot of sources, indicating careful construction. However, they are all at a local Tulsa and Oklahoma sources and/or do not provide WP:SIGCOV. I can't see this passing WP:GNG Boynamedsue (talk) 22:16, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: Authors, Women, Law, and Oklahoma. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 23:17, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Comment For disclosure, McCarty and I are members of the same bar association and have probably met. I'll withhold voting do to that, but will note she's a prominent local attorney in the second largest city in Oklahoma. However, not every prominent attorney in top 50 U.S. city will meet WP:GNG (in fact, few probably would). TulsaPoliticsFan (talk) 01:22, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

Keep: Sources are not all local sources. New York Times, ProPublica, Mother Jones, Bolts, Slate, and Huffpost are all national coverage. All mention her by name more than once and are about her work to meet WP:SIGCOV per "Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material." Pluribussin' (talk) 03:36, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

Could you point to a couple of sources on the page that are A: not local, and B: dedicate a couple of paragraphs to Colleen McCarty, rather than interviewing her about something else. That is what I am struggling to see here.--Boynamedsue (talk) 19:34, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Like I said before, New York Times, ProPublica, Mother Jones, Bolts, Slate, and Huffpost all have paragraphs (more than one in each) about her. Then, I added 2 PBS articles after you nominated for deletion. One PBS article is about her filing a historic application. Her name comes up in the following articles several times. Please look at the reference list more closely:
Mother Jones,[1][2]Bolts,[3] Slate,[4] New York Times,[5]and Propublica[6] Pluribussin' (talk) 20:17, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
So, Mother Jones provides trivial coverage. Both articles ask McCarty for opinions but do not discuss her in any detail. Bolts, not sure if it's reliable or not, but it again does not provide sigcov, as it is effectively an interview. Nothing quoting McCarty counts towards WP:SIGCOV. Slate and NYT are paywalled, I can't read them. If there is sigcov, post it on here and the problem is resolved, NYT again looks to be an interview though.--Boynamedsue (talk) 22:19, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Just now seeing this comment. I did that below. NYTs is not an "interview." Glad problem is resolved will you retract this nomination? Pluribussin' (talk) 23:20, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
From the mother jones article (which does not seem like trivial secondary coverage to me, so I disagree with your definition of trivial here):
"Yet recently, Wilkens has started to harbor some small amount of hope that she might get out another way. In June, two attorneys in the state, Colleen McCarty and Leslie Briggs, launched the podcast Panic Button to spread the word about Wilkens’ case. Now they’re lobbying Oklahoma lawmakers to draft and pass a bill that would let courts resentence certain survivors of abuse—specifically, ones whose crimes were related to the domestic violence they experienced.
...
Passing a law like this in Oklahoma could have a big impact. McCarty, the attorney, estimates that 500 women who are now incarcerated in the state were convicted of crimes stemming from domestic violence."
McCarty is quoted from/mentioned 3 other times in this same article . So, even without the other paragraphs that may have quotes and that she's mentioned in, this is ultimately an article that talks about her and does discuss her and her work in detail. •Just added 2 Guardian links. Unlike all I have referenced above (which talk about her extensively), those mention her in passing. Pluribussin' (talk) 14:02, 21 March 2026 (UT.:C)
Again, according to WP:SIGCOV those are all (PBS and Guardian) trivial mentions where she gives her opinion about something else and she gives a brief quote on that topic. Asking someone for a quote does not confer reliability on them. There needs to be significant coverage of the woman herself. Boynamedsue (talk) 19:34, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
  • See my above comment but I already acknowledged that about the Guardian links, but they are still national coverage, along with the NYTs, ProPublica, etc. coverage that does talk about her enough to meet WP:SIGCOV per "Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material." This PBS article in particular is about how she is filing a historic first application. Her name comes up 8 times in it alone and her image is used:

This isn't WP:SIGCOV interviews do not provide notability, in terms of coverage, it only provides a trivial mention of her job.--Boynamedsue (talk) 22:11, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
PBS article isn't an "interview," she's just quoted. Also from it:
'McCarty's organization, Oklahoma Appleseed Center for Law and Justice, estimates that between 100 to 150 women in Oklahoma prisons right now could be considered for a new sentence under this law.... McCarty said the Oklahoma Survivors' Act is the first law that's ever passed in the state that will give people who have a history with a statutory violent crime the chance at sentencing relief.
"It's a cresting wave of people recognizing that incarceration is not the answer and that people are worthy of change and can live a better life," she added.' Pluribussin' (talk) 23:19, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
If you ask her a question and quote her answer, it's an interview. The article provides notability for the topic of the article, but not the people whose opinions are sought.--Boynamedsue (talk) 00:16, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Even if I disagree with your definition that these articles are overall interview articles, I don't think it disqualifies them from meeting WP:SIGCOV as they all contain secondary information as well (about McCarty and her work), and, once again, the wikipedia article subject "does not need to be the main topic of the source material" for it to meet that. Even this section of WP:IV talks about how there can be secondary information Wikipedia:Interviews#Primary or secondary? But that is not wikipedia policy. Pluribussin' (talk) 02:17, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep: Now sufficiently notably.--Ipigott (talk) 14:09, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
I would look at the sources, they are not about Colleen McCarty and they all amount to trivial mentions per WP:SIGCOV.Boynamedsue (talk) 19:38, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Here's 2 paragraphs from the ProPublica article I previously referenced, where McCarty is mentioned 23 other times in the article:
"The case had particular resonance for McCarty. One of her earliest memories was of her teenage sister sitting at the kitchen table one morning with a bruised eye and split lip, having been thrown down a flight of stairs by a boyfriend. McCarty’s mother had escaped an abusive relationship only to be victimized again by a different partner before McCarty graduated from high school.
The lawyers wanted to pass legislation modeled on New York’s law, the Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act. They thought that calling attention to Wilkens’ case, in which the abuse was both extensive and thoroughly documented, might be the way to do it. But first McCarty needed a sense of how many women were imprisoned at Mabel Bassett for crimes tied to their own abuse — a phenomenon that sentencing-reform advocates call criminalized survivorship." Pluribussin' (talk) 20:45, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Ok that is probably sigcov, and I've checked that we regard ProPublica as a reliable source. I'm not entirely convinced it proves her notability rather than the that of the case, but in any case WP:GNG requires multiple sources. If there are more showing this level of coverage, especially with regards to a different case, then we might be ok.Boynamedsue (talk) 20:57, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
There are. Pluribussin' (talk) 21:11, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Ok, so traditionally speaking, this would be the place where you say what they are and give the example.Boynamedsue (talk) 22:08, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Traditionally, I think you check the sources before nominating for deletion, especially those that aren't behind a paywall. I copied and pasted references above from the article that existed before your nom. Also, I question doing so due to copyright law. But these might be hard for folks to access and see:
From the New York Times link above (also talking about another case, but these are not the only paragraphs where McCarty appears):
"The question before the court that morning in Seminole was not one of guilt or innocence; it was whether Moss’s punishment failed to account for the role that years of physical and sexual abuse played in her crime. McCarty called Margaret Black, a licensed counselor specializing in domestic violence, to the stand. Black, who had evaluated Moss, explained that each time Moss tried to leave her husband, the violence escalated. Black described a lethality assessment she had conducted to measure the risk Moss faced of being killed or seriously injured. “Eighteen and above is what’s called extreme danger,” Black said. In Moss’s case, her review of the evidence led her to assign a score of 24. “This was a very, very dangerous situation for Lisa and her children.
..
Oklahoma consistently ranks among the states with the highest rates of domestic violence; it also has one of the highest rates of female imprisonment. McCarty believed the two were connected, and the surveys seemed to bear that out. Some respondents claimed to have participated in robberies or other crimes under the threat of violence from their abusers. More had been convicted under Oklahoma’s “failure to protect” law, punished for not doing enough to shield their children from the brutality of their partners, often while enduring that violence themselves. But the women serving the longest sentences were typically those who had struck back at their abusers. McCarty began talking to lawmakers about these findings, and in 2023, an early version of a domestic violence survivors’ bill was introduced....To McCarty, the texts reflected just how determined the system’s gatekeepers were to preserve the status quo, despite the new law. On Jan. 29, she announced that she would be running for district attorney, challenging Kunzweiler in the Republican primary.”
From Slate linked above (not the only paragraph that mentions McCarty):
"Briggs and McCarty began making a podcast about April’s case, and they collaborated with a coalition of nonprofits across the country to pass a law in Oklahoma to help survivors, including April. Finally, there was momentum." Pluribussin' (talk) 22:54, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Slate, I spoke about above, it's an interview that doesn't provide sigcov. In the NYT source, I understand the difficulties of copyright make it hard to demonstrate. The first paragraph looks like a trivial mention, but the context of the second could suggest that the article as a whole might be sigcov... or then again might not. It would require two or three paragraphs at least of the article to be principally about McCarty.Boynamedsue (talk) 00:12, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
We will have to see if anyone agrees with your high standards about triviality, which no one has yet and which seems to misunderstand the spirit of WP:SIGCOV. Again, the source doesn't have to be about the wikipedia article subject (re: "it does not need to be the main topic of the source material.") I think your concerns about access to the NYTs article shows your issue was more appropriate for the article's talk page, not a deletion nom. Imagine if every wikipedia article was up for deletion simply because one person did not have access to a full article... Pluribussin' (talk) 02:04, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
You are misunderstanding, the article doesn't have to be about the subject, but the text that covers the subject does need to discuss it in detail rather than simply confirm its existence. The reason I am dubious about the NYT is that the only person who says they have read it so far is a comparatively new user whose comments in this thread show they haven't had time to come to grips with WP:GNG in detail until now. Boynamedsue (talk) 05:32, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
All of the sources you have previously mentioned as trivial actually have secondary source level coverage of McCarty. You had access to the free ProPublica article, which was part of the article before your deletion nom, yet you act as if you hadn't read it as well saying "Ok that is probably sigcov" when I sent you quotes from it. You clearly are doubling down trying to make the others seem like only primary source "interviews" when they are not because you didn't take the time to actually look at the sources before trying to get this article deleted. Pluribussin' (talk) 12:06, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
That's really not true, and you could probably do to take a bit of heat out of this discussion. I did miss the ProPublica article, and I did change my view when you showed me the quote. However, the other articles are situations where McCarty has been asked a question and she gives an answer which is quoted. That's not significant coverage of her by our rules.
I'll take the Mother Jones article you mentioned above. You quoted this section: "Yet recently, Wilkens has started to harbor some small amount of hope that she might get out another way.
Passing a law like this in Oklahoma could have a big impact. McCarty, the attorney, estimates that 500 women who are now incarcerated in the state were convicted of crimes stemming from domestic violence."
The part in italics would count towards WP:SIGCOV, but the rest doesn't, as it is either not about the subject (roman) or both not about the subject and a quote used by the journalist (in this case an indirect quote, in bold).Boynamedsue (talk) 14:07, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
I'm glad you admit that the part in italics counts, meaning the Mother Jones source is valid to use in this situation. Pluribussin' (talk) 14:31, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
I said "would count towards sigcov" which, at its most generous interpretation, requires a couple of paragraphs dedicated to the subject. That's not a couple of paragraphs, it's two sentences.Boynamedsue (talk) 15:02, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
I don't see that it is required to have a couple of paragraphs. That's only your standard. Accumulatively, the article is about McCarty's work. Also, here's part of another paragraph from the NYTs that I hope will put a stop to you claiming there is only trivial coverage of her:
"McCarty was cleareyed when we first spoke last spring about the challenges ahead. Many of the resentencing cases she was working on...were in Tulsa, where Kunzweiler was the top prosecutor, and they had very different visions of what justice looked like. McCarty, animated and intense, with large brown eyes that widened as she talked, spoke passionately about the possibility of second chances for those the system had failed.... Ok yeah, that looks like WP:SIGCOV from the NYT article. I still think wikipedia is probably better off without articles about small town American lawyers, but it does probably scrape through WP:GNG. In terms of WP:SIGCOV, I think you will find very few users who consider less than two paragraphs enough, except in cases like WP:ANYBIO or geographical cases. I will change my vote to keep.Boynamedsue (talk) 17:56, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

Ultimately, it fails WP:NTOUR and WP:GNG. The page is serving as nothing more than a compilation of concert tours that are barely notable on its own. The bulk of the article is simply concert dates. But there are no records of tickets sold, concert financial gross, or even set lists (excluding the Simply Deeper Tour) for the performances mentioned. Sackkid (talk) 21:56, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep You're asking to add fluff that's nice to have, but isn't required at all to an article that already has plenty of sources and is properly formatted and written (and often is superflous because for these older articles, just having the date/venue is perfectly fine); this is something you can add on your own (if properly sourced) and is absolutely not a hardline requirement for a concert tour history article. We're not going to merge this to Kelly Rowland, and certainly not to Destiny's Child because it's too long, so this is a nomination to nowhere where you're somehow asking for deletion on a 80-source article (and even discounting YouTube and other discourged sourcing, easily will pass GNG), or to merge it to other already lengthy articles, and the rationale is just you wanting it to meet some undecodable standard unknown to anyone else. I also see a talk page last edited in 2017 that you should have been using before coming here. Nathannah • 📮 01:44, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete. This is absolute nonsense. It makes no sense for Wikipedia to house this information. Sell it to GeoCities. Trumpetrep (talk) 03:35, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
@Nathannah: You do realize that the sources are mainly promotional announcements which is common for any concert tour. All other sources outside of that are YouTube links, or links to websites where said-performance can be watched. When you subtract that from this page, there is no reason for it to be here. It holds no merit. "Just having the date/venue is perfectly fine", uhm no, not by Wikipedia standards. Furthermore, I'm not suggesting a merge. I think a full-on delete is better. A discussion on a talk page is unnecessary for something that doesn't meet criteria. Sackkid (talk) 05:24, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Also, there is no need to mention record sales, accolades, and singles on this page. "Throughout a career spanning 18 years, Rowland has sold over 66 million records as a solo artist with four studio albums, two compilation albums, one box set, two extended plays and forty-three singles, including nineteen as a featured artist and five promotional singles, and further 60 million records with Destiny's Child. Her work has earned her several awards and nominations, including four Grammy Awards, a Billboard Music Award and a Soul Train Music Award. Rowland has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with Destiny's Child, and as a solo artist she has been honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and Essence for her contributions to music. In 2014, Fuseranked Rowland in their "100 Most Award-Winning Artists" list at number 20." That’s irrelevant to this article. Sackkid (talk) 10:28, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

Both of those predate the sources by Lobo cited in the article, suggesting that these are just the occasional independent coinages one sees of a term that is not so hard to coin. Stepwise Continuous Dysfunction (talk) 23:43, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
If these are three independent coinages then they illustrate another point, that people who know nothing about Latin sometimes invent "Latin" terms that make no sense. My own studies of Latin ended in 1958, nearly 70 years ago, so I'm no expert, but I remember enough to know that if imaginatus is a Latin word at all (apparently it is) it cannot possibly mean imaginative, but must be a past participle used adjectivally that means imagined or imaginary. As Dr Lobo works in Colombia he must surely know that the Spanish cognate imaginado does indeed mean imagined. Do he and his followers want us to believe that humans are imaginary? Non-notable/infrequently-occurring sports fixture. Doesn't meet WP:NEVENT, WP:NRIVALRY or WP:SIGCOV. Similar to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Down–Dublin Gaelic football rivalry and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cork–Kildare Gaelic football rivalry, there is nothing to indicate that the titular subject (a "rivalry" between these two sides) exists. And, if a rivalry does exist between these two sides (arising from just 5 games in over 100 years of competition), there is no indication that the "rivalry" has been the subject of significant independent coverage to establish sufficient independent notability to justify a standalone title. The only source in the article (a blog post) doesn't use the term "rivalry" (simply stating that the 1998 meeting of these sides was the "biggest game in Galway football since [19]83". But not because of any rivalry - or even because Kildare, specifically, were the opponents....). And, in my own WP:BEFORE, I can find no sources describing any meeting of these two sides as being part of a "rivalry". Long story short: There are no sources to establish that the titular subject is a "thing" - not to mind a notable "thing"... Guliolopez (talk) 17:30, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Much like the recent AfD on the 4th book in the series, these books are unfortunately low-notability and should be redirected to the series main page at The Runelords#Scions of the Earth series. As such, I will be bundling the remaining books in the 4-book subseries:

Worldbinder (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
The Wyrmling Horde (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Sons of the Oak seems to have one review in Library Journal (ProQuest 196813861). no reviews that I can find (I got confused while originally making the nom, this is just a mention of it in a review for its sequel).

Worldbinder has a review in Publishers Weekly, but that's all I can find.

The Wyrmling Horde may technically scrape by on WP:NBOOK due to reviews in Publishers Weekly and Library Journal (ProQuest 196813861), but I do not believe that it makes sense for it to be the lone book in the series with a standalone article, per WP:NOPAGE. ScalarFactor (talk) 17:19, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Redirect per nom. Tioaeu8943 (talk) 19:44, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Comment - I updated the nom re: Sons of the Oak and expanded the articles with what reviews were available. There's really nothing to merge from Sons and Worldbinder, but I did copy the current review text from Wyrmling horde as well (with attribution). Wyrmling horde may need a merged-from notice on the series talk page if this ends in redirect, but the other two shouldn't, I believe. ScalarFactor (talk) 20:15, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Redirect. I think you meant 8th, not 4th. The reviews, per ISFDb, stop at the 4th (The Lair of Bones) . I support redirecting them except the Wyrmiling Horde, which if separately notable is still notable (although these are closer to capsule reviews than full ones, sigh, so the case for notability is not very strong). Ping User:Cunard just in case. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 00:53, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
I was referring to the 4-book subseries that's under the 'Scions of the Earth' heading on the main series article. Re: the review size - yeah, that's why I'm advocating for a WP:PAGEDECIDE option. The Library Journal review for Wyrmling Horde is one paragraph, with about one sentence of content that isn't plot summary. PW isn't too much better in that regard either. ScalarFactor (talk) 01:27, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
Yes, which is why I agree. Such, let's face it, crappy reviews are not enough to develop this into something useful beyond identical fancrufty plot summary :( Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:36, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for the ping. I searched for sources for each book and did not find additional sources from what the nominator has found. Cunard (talk) 08:58, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Redirect to The Runelords#Scions of the Earth series (with the history preserved under the redirect) per Wikipedia:Deletion policy#Alternatives to deletion. • Comment It certainly predates TikTok (as a practice if not a name). Tom Robbins has a character suggest doing it in Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (1976). And The Joy of Sex advised it four years before that: "Some men respond violently to it without realizing the fact; it's also the ideal perfume fixative, and a touch behind the ears at a dance, in advance of, or instead of, bottle perfume can be deadly." (Quoted, if you were curious, in this 1977 article on Catullus 13, which suggests that vaginal secretions are the perfume that will compel you ask the gods to make you all nose.) Stepwise Continuous Dysfunction (talk) 23:46, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
I haven't reached a final conclusion here, but I wonder if the best solution might be to add a sentence to vaginal lubrication that says something like, "Vaginal fluids are sometimes used as an aphrodisiac perfume, but their effectiveness is unclear" (the available sources seem to support that much), and then redirecting this to that. Otherwise we'd have a permastub, it seems to me. Stepwise Continuous Dysfunction (talk) 21:57, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

I've seen six sources that more or less focus on the subject. The first two are about his departure from McKinsey and the founding of Kedaara, both are related to the same event. Another source is an unbylined, quote-based article. The fourth source is an unbylined piece about his inclusion in a "super rich" list, which doesn't contain sigcov. The fifthfifth source is not independent. The sixth source is a listing of 25 young executives setting the corporate fast-track on fire. I don't think this is enough for GNG. Comment I believe the concerns raised here were already addressed in the last AfD for this article.

The first two are about his departure from McKinsey and the founding of Kedaara. both are related to the same event. so? Are you asserting these reputable sources are just press releases, or are you saying only one counts because they cover the same event? — Preceding unsigned comment added by HibaShaikh (talk • contribs) 03:46, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

1. The Economic Times Article: This piece discusses his departure from Temasek and his intent to launch a new fund.

2. The Business Standard Article: This notes the actualization of his partnership with Sunish Sharma and details his specific deal track record.

These sources are editorial features, not routine corporate announcements. They provide deep biographical coverage that goes well beyond the routine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HibaShaikh (talk • contribs) 03:51, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

I’ve addressed the source 3 previously. The Mint article isn’t actually unbylined. Regardless, a missing byline doesn’t automatically make a source unreliable—especially for a Tier-1 Indian financial daily like Mint which has strict editorial standards. It’s easy to see by reading the content that this is an editorial piece, not PR.

Keep in mind this piece is from 2008; the lack of a visible byline on current digital archives is likely just a technical formatting issue from a website migration, not a lack of authorship. Its actually a first-person feature where the author identifies themselves right in the text. As for the quotes—using them is standard journalism. They don’t disqualify the entire source; they only mean we shouldn’t rely on the quoted parts for independence. There is still plenty of non-quoted, independent editorial content here providing significant coverage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HibaShaikh (talk • contribs) 03:53, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

Since the Business Standard article is unbylined, I’m providing another bylined source that confirms Manish Kejriwal is the first-ever India-based private equity (PE) fund manager included in the 2023 Hurun India Rich List.

The source 4 and 5 articles are duplicates, both from Business Standard. I’ve already linked a bylined source above that verifies the Hurun India Rich List details. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HibaShaikh (talk • contribs) 03:56, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

Source 6 wasn’t provided as a standalone GNG-winner, but rather to demonstrate sustained coverage over two decades. The claim that all coverage is tied to Kedaara is simply factually incorrect.

There is a wealth of significant, independent coverage from well before Kedaara was even founded—another 2007 from The Economic Times offers significant coverage. Under WP:GNG, two articles with significant coverage are typically sufficient to meet the multiple sources requirement and establish notability.

The subject is frequently featured and sought out by top-tier outlets like the NYT, WSJ, Reuters, and Bloomberg as an expert and pioneer in the PE industry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HibaShaikh (talk • contribs) 04:01, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

Individuals who are not notable typically don't receive this level of sustained, national and international coverage. It shows that the subjects work has received sustained attention from independent aources. He is consistently characterized as a billion-dollar dealmaker and a private equity pioneer. Furthermore, the closing of his recent $1.74 billion fund wasn’t merely local news; it drew significant international coverage from Bloomberg and others which clearly shows notability.HibaShaikh (talk) 04:11, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

  • I fixed the link to the fifth source. Regarding the 2007 source you provided, it is too brief and contains only two paragraphs that are actually about him, roughly 150 words. Kelob2678 (talk) 08:23, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
Notability is about the depth of coverage, not word count. A focused article detailing career milestones is far more significant than a long, trivial mention. Even if we consider word count, this source clearly meets WP:100W.
The subject isn’t a passing mention. He is the main focus of the article and is highlighted in the headline for leading a massive $6.2 billion global transaction. This deal received wide coverage in international and financial media.
The source also includes biographical details beyond this high stakes deal, which shows clear and significant coverage of the subject. HibaShaikh (talk) 11:59, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete and salt. I concur with Kelob2678's source assessment. This article appears to be part of a broader set of articles—including Sunaina Kejriwal, Kamalnayan Bajaj Hall and Art Gallery (now a redirect), and other Bajaj family-related articles—that were created and/or continue to be maintained by the same SPAs and spammers. Incorrect on AllMusic being "generally unreliable". This article was created in 2014 and has existed more or less unchanged, as an unreferenced stub, for over a decade since. I haven't been able to find any significant coverage of this in reliable sources, with a Google Scholar search only bringing up false positives (both in English and in Spanish), mostly showing parties by the same name in other countries. The Spanish Wikipedia article only includes one potentially usable source, but it only mentions them as one of many parties that backed the candidacy of Tabare Vazquez in 2008. My browser also flags the website linked in the article as a potential security risk.

As I can't find evidence that this party meets our notability criteria for organisations, I'm nominating it for deletion. A potential alternative to deletion would be a redirect to the article on the Fourth International Posadist, which mentions the FOR as its "only functioning party". Page that has been marked as needing sources since 2008. Page was redirected to Biomedical engineering in Feb 2018, then this was reverted on March 8th 2026 without any improvement to page. If all the unsourced sections were removed (~80% I estimate) all that would be left is one paragraph on hyperthermia and a "Bioheat model" that is a very simple 1D heat diffusion equation. It is not evident that this is a notable topic, certainly no proof here and I do not see convincing evidence in a WP:Before. Options are 1) restore the redirect, 2) draftify if someone is going to rewrite or 3) TNT until someone writes a decent article. Ldm1954 (talk) 01:08, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete I would usually argue for a redirect such as TJ Lubinsky#TJ Lubinsky PBS television productions (which lists the numerous programs of the same vein they produced), but that article is also promotional itself on its face and argues 'this man single-handedly is trying to save oldies music'; most of the likely sources are either going to be television listings, or hardcopy newspaper sources which are just going to be in the same vein where the PBS station promotes it in a news article and outside a few pieces where the subjects are neutrally interviewed beyond their involvement, it is going to hit the same sourcing problems, plus the only way to verify the impact of each special on pledge break revenue is with the organizations themselves, which is absurd for the number of PBS member stations there are. I know we can probably find a few to meet 'sources three' but I'd rather they be proper rather than just 'title drop' promotional sources. Nathannah • 📮 16:21, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

    1. Carter, Richard (2007-12-27). "Black R&B preserved in greatest musical show in TV history". New York Amsterdam News. p. 10. ProQuest 390178413.

The article notes: "Yet, once in a while something comes along that's so good and so special, it deserves the "best" accolade. That's precisely how I describe "Doo-Wop 50"-the memorable music performance show which premiered nationally to rave reviews eight years ago this month on the Public Broadcasting System. The 1999 program marked the 50th year of original Black rhythm and blues, also known as "doo-wop." It was so special I'm going to ring in 2008 by again watching my tape of the sterling event while joyously toasting its great music and great vintage artists. The only negative-which is par for the course on public television-were long, annoying interruptions resulting in what some call "pledge drive fatigue." ... Lengthy pledge breaks aside, this 100-minute, once-in-a-lifetime PBS show was truly marvelous. In offering up such a delightful musical treat, the network tapped into a priceless vein of Americana. I'm sure everyone who saw the premiere, or the repeats since then, was transfixed as the greats came to life in all their creative glory in front of a large audience in Pittsburgh. The show was hosted by Jerry Butler, who introduced and warmly expounded on each act. ... The program concluded with the late Pookie Hudson and the original Spaniels doing their classic "Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight"-doo-wop's all-time anthem-during which they were joined by all the other artists on the tune in a moving sing-along. For millions of mature Americans who cut their musical teeth in the 1950s and '60s, this was the most, to say the least."

The article notes: "Stay tuned: Those collection-minded folks at Rhino Entertainment are at it again. This time around, it's a TV special commemorating 50 years of doo-wop. "Doo-Wop 50: Celebrating Five Decades Of Street-Corner Harmony" is being produced in association with PBS outlet WQED Pittsburgh; it will be broadcast nationwide on PBS affiliates throughout December. Hosted by veteran doo-wopper Jerry "the Ice Man" Butler ("Only The Strong Survive, "Let It Be Me," and other hits), the 90-minute special boasts performances by many of the original groups that made names for themselves in the '50s and '60s. We're talking the Platters ("Great Pre-tender"), the Marcels ("Blue Moon"), and Harvey & the Moonglows ("Ten Commandments Of Love"), among others. The special was produced by WQED's T.J. Lubin-sky, whose grandfather Herman Lubinsky founded pioneer R&B label Savoy Records. Rhino's popular 1995 release "Doo-Wop I & II" was the inspiration for the tribute."

The article notes: "Rhino's earlier doo-wop boxes received an enormous lift last year from a PBS special, "Doo Wop 50." The show-an all-star live doo-wop concert originally broadcast last summer by WQED Pittsburgh and first aired nationally during the December membership pledge season-increased sales for the company's original "Doo Wop Box," first released in 1993. Rhino senior VP of marketing Garson Foos says that collection is now Rhino's bestselling box to date, with 175,000 units shipped. Rhino will issue "Doo Wop 50" on videocassette and DVD in August. A live album drawn from the show will be issued as an exclusive PBS pledge premium in August and will go to retail in November. "More Doo Wop 50," a new special featuring unseen footage from the '99 concert, is scheduled for a PBS airing in August. ... Foos says that "Doo Wop 50" has become "the top pledge drive show now in the history of PBS . . . I was told that it's raised over $20 million for PBS.""

    4. Wyckoff, Geraldine (2000-11-28). "Various Artists: Doo Wop 50 Live!". Gambit. p. 73. ProQuest 205823719.

The article notes: " In December 1999, phones at Public Broadcasting stations around the country lit up as viewers responded to the airing of the fundraising special Doo Wop 50. The two-hour concert became the top pledge-drive show in the history of PBS. Taped live at Pittsburgh's Benedum Center for the Performing Arts, the all-star show reunited an array of surviving doo wop groups backed by a crackerjack band. Doo Wop 50 Live! compiles some of those memorable performances and captures the spirit that filled the room. Clapping, whistling, screaming and singing accompany Gene Chandler's powerful voice as the album kicks off with "Duke of Earl." For anyone who saw the special, a picture of the larger-thanlife Chandler making a regal entrance walking down the aisle immediately comes to mind. ... The producers, however, were meticulous in selecting groups that retain their core. Introducing Harvey & the Moonglows, who croon "Sincerely" and "Ten Commandments of Love,""

The article notes: " And they still are, adds Butler, who with help from a score of musical groups with familiar names like the Penguins, the Platters and the Del Vikings, brings the sound of 1950s harmony singing back to life this month on a PBS special, "Doo Wop 50." (It airs on many stations tonight at 8 p.m. Central.) As the show's title implies, it's been nearly half a century since harmony singing moved out of the barbershops and onto urban street corners all across post-World War II America. ... But when Gene Chandler proclaims he's now and forever the "Duke of Earl," when Platters founder Herb Reed reiterates that he's "The Great Pretender," when the original Del Vikings reunite for a few more "Dum De Doo Wahs," it's 1955 again. Or 1960. Or 1970. Or whenever it was that you first heard something like Butler, Curtis Mayfield and the rest of the Impressions singing "For Your Precious Love." ... But "Doo Wop 50," filmed during a concert at Pittsburgh's Benedum Center, offered a rare chance to bring back the genre's original singers, some of whom had drifted into obscurity, even if the names of their groups had not."

The article notes: "Doo-wop's biggest boost recently came from the TV special "Doo- Wop 50," produced by WQED television in Pittsburgh. In what may be the most influential TV special since "Motown 25," "Doo-Wop 50" became the most lucrative fund-raiser in public television history, drawing more than $20 million in pledges. Besides spawning a second special, "Doo-Wop 51," to be broadcast this fall, it's put a lot of groups on the road for the first time in years."

    7. Violanti, Anthony (2000-08-18). "Thanks to TV, Doo-Wop Music Bops Back Again". The Buffalo News. Factiva bfnw000020010803dw8i00mnq.

The article notes: "Last year a PBS special, "Doo-Wop 50," re-energized the street- corner harmony music that began a half century ago. The concept was simple: gather together a horde of singing groups from the early 1950s; put them on stage, backed by a band and strings, in an auditorium packed with adoring fans. The list of performers included the Chantels, the Spaniels, the Platters and the Duke of Earl himself, Gene Chandler. Jerry Butler, a smooth singing and talking singing star, formerly of the Impressions, acted as host and kept the show running smoothly. That special became one of the top pledge drive programs in PBS history by reportedly raising nearly $20 million across the country. It also made doo-wop hot once more. This month another PBS pledge special, "More Doo-Wop 50," kindled more interest in the old music. Rhino Records just released "The Doo- Wop Box III," it's third boxed set of the music."

    8. Less significant coverage:
      1. Masley, Ed (2002-08-11). "WQED's Lubinsky Moves From Doo-Wop to Rock". Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. p. G1. Factiva ppgz000020020811dy8b00075.

The article notes: "It all goes back to doo-wop with T.J. Lubinsky, the WQED producer whose "Doo Wop 50" special, filmed in Pittsburgh, is the biggest moneymaker in the history of PBS. ... It's Lubinsky's passion for his favorite vocal groups that drives him to produce. And the shows he produces now account for no fewer than four of the Top 10 earners in PBS history. "Doo Wop 50" tops the list with pledges of $26 million. ... Bennett laughs at the idea of a 20-something doo-wop fan, but that's how old Lubinsky was when he did "Doo Wop 50" -- 26, to be exact. He's 30 now, and as he's aged, his tastes have broadened."

There is sufficient coverage in reliable sources to allow Doo Wop 50 to pass Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline, which requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".

No indication that the 916th highest summit in Kentucky meets WP:NATFEAT. "Named natural features are often notable, provided information beyond statistics and coordinates is known to exist. [...] If a Wikipedia article cannot be developed using known sources, information on the feature can instead be included in a more general article on local geography. For example, a river island with no information available except name and location should probably be described in an article on the river". The source in question here is The Business Standard (TBS), a reliable Bangladeshi newspaper. The source assessment confuses it with Business Standard, an Indian newspaper that is covered by WP:NEWSORGINDIA. Nothing suggests that the TBS article is paid news or an undisclosed advertorial. It is, however, an interview, so is largely a primary source and not independent of the subject. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:58, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

I can understand, as per Zuck28, how she could be seen as a notable for her advocacy work but as per PacificDepth's assessment, there aren't strong reliable sources that justify her notability. Usually I'd opt for improving an article rather than deleting, but in this case I'm struggling to find reliable sources to replace the unreliable ones that PacificDepths has highlighted. For example, the claim that she won the Asia 21 award is mentioned by the Daily Star (in the article) and by this blogpost by the Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce which I also don't think would qualify as a reliable source to replace the Daily Star article. Article totally unsourced since creation in 2006, two decades ago! Topic is a convention that fails notability. The only independent sources turned up on wp:BEFORE were wp:passing mentions and a routine short news announcement of the convention being held in a particular place. Most of the information in the article is unverifiable even from the sources that I was able to find. There is just not enough here to satisfy notability or a standalone article. A previous deletion discussion from 15 years ago resulted in keep primarily because the nominator had mass nominated several conventions without making a good case in policy, and did not resolve the underlying notability problem of this article. Lenny Marks (talk) 15:15, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Isaac Asimov's science fiction magazine: Volume 14, Issues 4-6 by which they presumably mean 1 note in a SF Con Calendar in issue 5 only (I can't see any mention in the other two)
  • Screenwriter's & Playwright's Market, they don't specify which version (and I can't find easy access online) but from the previews I can find it doesn't look like its the sort of work that gives nice write up[s] on the things it includes. Its mainly a catalogue dealing with things like contact-information, addresses, etc. Perhaps the version they were looking at was different.
  • Amazing stories: Volumes 52-53, Again no idea which volume/issue they are referring to. The only issue from vol. 52-53 on IA doesn't include it. Based on the other sources they provided I'd be willing to bet that whatever it was wasn't WP:SIGCOV.
Despite lack of access, from what I can see, these seem to have been pasted in from a search with no regard for there contents and whether it met WP:SIGCOV. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 09:26, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Conversion of non-Hindu places of worship into temples

Conversion of non-Hindu places of worship into temples (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

I believe the article severely violates all P&Rs. Some of those are below: Synthesis of Published Material (WP:SYNTH) & Original Research (WP:OR): It mixes different contexts together and creates a completely new narrative which doesn't exist in reality. Some examples are: Incidents in the USA, Canada, and the UK where abandoned churches bought by Hindus and made into Hindu temples are shown as "conversion". It is a natural process. Plus, it includes incidents of some changes in religious structures during political upheavals in antiquity and the Middle Ages. This means showing completely different incidents under the same umbrella term. False Equivalence and violates Neutral Point of View (WP:NPOV): The listicle presents politically sensitive incidents like the Babri Mosque as equivalent to real estate acquisitions like buying unused churches. It confuses readers and violates NPOV. Then comes the Coatrack Article (WP:COATRACK): At the end of the article, in the See Also section, it has links to Anti-mosque campaigning in India and Saffronisation, which clearly indicates that the purpose of the article isn't encyclopedic, but rather spreading ideological and political bias. So, it can be considered a coatrack article for an agenda. Also, Indiscriminate Collection of Information (WP:INDISCRIMINATE): Conversion of non-Hindu places of worship into temples is unclear. The article has no specific focus. It covers everything from ancient Buddhist/Jain periods to general legal property transactions in the 21st century. So, per the rules of WP:SYNTH, WP:OR, WP:NPOV, WP:COATRACK, and WP:INDISCRIMINATE, it is completely deletable. Tendonlol (talk) 16:14, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Note: This discussion has been included in the deletion sorting lists for the following topics: Politics, Hinduism, India, United Kingdom, Canada, and United States of America. Tendonlol (talk) 16:14, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep per WP:NLIST. The page has a navigational value. The topic was also covered in literature, for example, in a chapter titled Old Mosques: Destroyed, Lost and Transformed in Twentieth- and Twenty-first-century India. Kelob2678 (talk) 18:05, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Your opinion clearly indicates you have not read the rules, or, maybe, what I have written. Per the rule of WP:NLIST, a list must have navigational value, and every item must fall under a coherent subject. Buying an unused 1920s church and putting medieval temple conversions on the same list does not create navigational value, but violates another rule because there is no specific logical boundary between the title and the content of the article.
Plus, "Old Mosques: Destroyed, Lost and Transformed in Twentieth- and Twenty-first-century India" talks about the 20th and 21st centuries Indian Mosques. This is not an universally praised or well-renowned book. The scope of the article is very broad, including medieval mosques as well as Christian churches, medieval Buddhist monasteries, and Jain temples, which are from completely different historical and geographical contexts. It is controversial and original research. Plus some claims aren't supported by cited sources, and some are synthesized. Having a source on a subject does not mean events from completely different things can be combined to create a Global List. This misrepresentation can be called a category error.
This article is nothing but a synthetic narrative. Thinking A + B must be C, where A and B are facts is foolish to make such arguments unless a reliable source directly discusses this C or the overall issue. This C is an artificial concept.
Converting a bought abandoned church in America or London into a temple is not a religious conflict or conversion, is a real estate acquisition. This is common sense. Yet, it is shown in the same list as the transformations resulting from historical wars. This is contrary to the rule of neutral point of view, and is likely a hoax as well. Tendonlol (talk) 19:46, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Please be more concise. The source I provided shows that we can have an article titled "list of mosques converted into temples". If we can have similar sources for other places of worship, I see no reason to have separate articles instead of a unified one. Regarding US churches, I also don't see why they are included and would support their removal, but this is not a reason to delete. Kelob2678 (talk) 20:56, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
You agreed that the examples of churches should be removed, which means the article has structural entropy. The main basis of the article is a synthetic premise; therefore, applying WP:TNT (Blow it up and start over) is the most reasonable course of action. Instead of patchwork, it is better to delete it and later create a new article under a separate and correct scope based on a specific source, for example, 'List of mosques converted into temples'.
Let me elaborate. As I have already mentioned twice, the sociological, geographical, and political reasons behind these events range from ancient Buddhist monasteries and mosques during medieval conflicts to modern-day legal 'Real Estate Acquisitions' in Western countries (which you also agree to exclude). Ultimately, there is no existing source which unifies the incidents of mosques, Buddhist sites, churches, and Jain temples. Combining different discrete variables into one analytical vessel is a violation of WP:SYNTH. Tendonlol (talk) 21:43, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
There is no need for TNT, that section can be easily removed. Lists on Wikipedia are usually somewhat synthetic, I don't think that this one stands out. Kelob2678 (talk) 23:06, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Removing that section won't change the title of the article (Conversion of non-Hindu places of worship into temples). There will then only have mosque-related incidents, whereas the title means the article can contain everything across all times, places, contexts.
Since the primary basis of the article is an artificial construct and have not a single academic source, removing that section will be a localized patch for a systemic error because it is an entirely original research and an original survey. I see no alternative to WP:TNT. I think TNT is the only policy-compliant logical path here. I do not understand how your argument will salvage the article. The article is not only entirely original research, but some information is not supported by the cited references. So, I think partial removal is a structurally failed way in this case, and the only viable path is TNT. Tendonlol (talk) 08:45, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep. @Tendonlol: you have written

The listicle presents politically sensitive incidents like the Babri Mosque as equivalent to real estate acquisitions like buying unused churches.

Why is it a problem to be including both cases? Why do you think this article argues for an equivalence between the two? Would you prefer that in the lede of this article it was mentioned that it lists both forced conversions and unused places of worship being bought and reused as Hindu temples? Yuyutsu Ho (talk) 18:48, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
I understand what you are saying. The problems with this article in its current scope are structural, which isn't fixable by introductory disclaimer. Why is this so? Showing historically sensitive socio-political incidents like Babri Mosque and legal processes like the buying unused abandoned church in America under the same structural umbrella of 'Conversion into Hindu Temples' forces an idea of equivalence on the reader.
Lumping all incidents together creates an artificial narrative like global Hindu expansionism or reconquest. Unless there is any reliable source that shows medieval forced conversion and modern Western real estate purchases to be part of the same socio-religious phenomenon, their conflation is an example of WP:COATRACK.
Regarding your point about disclaimer in the lead there are both 'forced conversions' and 'unused places being bought', I think putting a disclaimer in the lead does not make a polyphyletic and synthetic list valid. If a disclaimer is needed to explain why they are in the same article meaning the events are so unrelated, then that means keeping all in the same article isn't right. A disclaimer in the lead is like a cosmetic patch on a structurally flawed foundation. These disparate categories should not be kept under a synthetic umbrella. To say nothing of WP:OR, WP:NPOV, WP:COATRACK, and WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Tendonlol (talk) 21:30, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep as there would seem to be at least an WP:GNG pass. Iljhgtn (they/them · talk) 19:29, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete - Fails WP:NLIST and WP:LISTCRIT. Seems the "grouping" criteria used is "any non-Hindu place of worship that later became a Hindu temple" - it does not seem to be a grouping discussed in reliable sources which raises concerns for OR/SYNTH as noted in nom. The article combines distinct topics e.g. mosque/temple disputes in India, real estate purchases of church buildings by Hindu communities in Western countries, archaeological interpretations of earlier Buddhist sites, Jain sites becoming Hindu sites. Per WP:NLIST ("is based on the group ... has been discussed as a group or set by independent reliable sources") and WP:LISTCRIT ("criteria should be unambiguous, objective, and supported by reliable sources. Avoid original or arbitrary criteria that would synthesize a list that is not plainly verifiable in reliable sources"), this grouping is not supported for a standalone list. Asteramellus (talk) 23:55, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete as an incoherent mess and a consequent failure of NLIST. This list conflates some very different phenomena; the forcible conversion of some places of worship into temples, of which there's a bare handful of examples; the gradual conversion over centuries of some temples, which is not treated as a coherent topic by sources; and the purchase of new property for conversion into Hindu temples, which is trivia. Certainly these are not discussed together, and the list as it stands has no meaningful scope. Vanamonde93 (talk) 02:54, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

The ESTNN source cited covers the best Fortnite players, but their methodology is not based on earnings. The HotSpawn source does, but I've never heard of this publication. Esports Charts appears to be a raw database. No other cited sources cite the grouping. ~ A412 talk! 17:33, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Comment: "I've never heard of them" is a weird way to dismiss a source. They appear to cover eSports topics. SenshiSun (talk) 17:48, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Shorthand for having no evidence they're a reliable source. They lack a published editorial policy and process that would speak to accuracy. I see no use by others that would establish a reputation for being reliable. They haven't been assessed as reliable by WP:RSN or WP:VG/S. Failing any positive evidence, my prior is that they are not reliable. ~ A412 talk! 18:04, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Two other sources that list the highest-earning Fortnite players are esports.gg and Tracker Network. I thought it appropriate to mention them here. Rockfighterz M (talk) 14:37, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

I think this a failure of both WP:PROF and WP:BLP1E. Their citation record is pretty weak and there is no evidence of them passing any of the other PROF criteria, and essentially all news coverage of them is from mid 2025 onwards about them making controversial remarks and actions primarily about the Israel-Gaza conflict and then subsequently leaving their academic lecturing job as a result and then failing to get another job. Leaving a job as a result for making controversial remarks about the Israel-Gaza conflict seems pretty unremarkable and not something of long-term encyclopaedic significance, and there's not really any evidence in my view that Pettit is notable as an activist per se. While one might draw a comparison to David Miller (sociologist), Pettit has far less prominence for his academic work than Miller does. The article has been subject to a complaint apparently by the subject's mother on the BLPN noticeboard: Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#Harry_Pettit:_Attack_page, which has also questioned his notability, so I think this can reasonably be considered a WP:BLPREQUESTDELETE. Hemiauchenia (talk) 19:53, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete Per nom - absent the political controversy, notability would be dicey at best, and BLP1E argues for deletion. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 20:08, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete per nom. This subject appears to fail WP:PROF and the sources tend to indicate WP:BLP1E. The depth of biographical coverage regarding controversy is short of encyclopedic, and the subject is not particularly notable for the controversy. JFHJr (㊟) 20:23, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

@~2026-15754-93; Pettit has been effectively fired by both a Dutch university and a Belgian university within less than a year.Vlaemink (talk) 22:41, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
The sources are all either Dutch or Belgian, apart from one that does not relate to the subject (National Post) and the EJC which just confirms his contract with VUB was terminated because of complaints made by them. There is a Dutch/Flemish Wikipedia article on the subject which is not a direct translation of this one and feels more appropriate for the Dutch/Flemish speaking world. The first reference given on him was published just over a year ago (11.3.25), apart from confirmation of his publications which is no longer available to read anyway - the screen shot doesn't show it and Radbound no longer have it on their website of course. ~2026-16688-54 (talk) 18:04, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
@~2026-16688-54: The fact that these valid and trustworthy sources were published by Belgian or Dutch outlets; or the fact that they are in Dutch, doesn't diminish their accuracy or validity in any way, shape or form. All sources listed have been properly archived and are still accessible, so the fact that the Radboud (not Radbound) university doesn't have this information on its current website (again, this makes sense, this person was fired from this institution) is irrelevant.Vlaemink (talk) 10:24, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep. One of the most debated people in the Netherlands. Huge amounts of coverage. Easy pass of the GNG. Referencing here would come in long lists of articles per media channel, not in single articles as we see elsewhere. BLP1E does not apply to many events. Common mistake. gidonb (talk) 21:27, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
WP:NOTNEWS Wikipedia considers the enduring notability of persons and events. While news coverage can be useful source material for encyclopedic topics, most newsworthy events do not qualify for inclusion... What you have to consider is, if you were looking back on this article from 5 to 10 years from now, and the current coverage was all that exists, would this person demonstrate long-term significance? As is, it seems like a fail of WP:SUSTAINED beyond the current controversy over his remarks. He seems likely to fade into obscurity in the medium term, and I don't think BLPs of subjects who are only notable for relatively brief controversies is a good idea. I think the controversy would be better covered as a paragraph in the Radboud University Nijmegen and Academic_freedom#Netherlands articles rather than as a standalone BLP. Hemiauchenia (talk) 21:43, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Oh the coverage is absolutely WP:SUSTAINED. Over years already. WP:NOTNEWS doesn't apply by any standard or stretch of the imagination. The idea that former university teachers can only be notable if they also meet WP:PROF is extremely stiff. Former professors can be notable for anything: activists, politicians, criminals, authors, artists. Literally anything. Pettit is known for activism. He is not different from other activists on Wikipedia. Only better known. gidonb (talk) 22:00, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Lists of sources by channel: Algmeen Dagblad list, De Gelderlander list, Het Laatste Nieuws list, NOS list, De Telegraaf list, Trouw list De Volkskrant list. Easy to expand this with magazines, more international. I have no clue if this is a BEFORE failure, IDONTLIKEITT, or how this nomination came about. Will keep it at not well based in fact and policy. This part is classic crystal balling, in blatant contradiction to how the media follow his activism, separation from Radboud, and current job search: "He seems likely to fade into obscurity in the medium term". gidonb (talk) 23:43, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
It's reasonable to open up a deletion discussion if someone associated with the subject opens a thread at BLPN with concerns about the article and questions their notability. Hemiauchenia (talk) 00:50, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
I don't know if it is reasonable. People do it so it might be. It is for sure wasteful of community resources to ask to delete subjects who easily pass the GNG. We are short of attention to the article space. gidonb (talk) 06:04, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
It's reasonable if proper reason are brought up. All that the IP user on BLPNB had to offer was IDONTLIKEIT cleanup, and too many sources being in Dutch, neither of which are deletion reasons. Cortador (talk) 19:43, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

@Vlaemink: The Belgian press also paid Pettit a lot of attention. In this domain I have only added the HLN list above. Belgium has so many other channels. Also NL is not nearly exhausted. Such !votes next get tallied by closers. gidonb (talk) 19:20, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep. Subject pases the WP:GNG, there is no requirement that the article pass WP:NPROF too (as gidonb noted). WP:BLP1E is not applicable, as there have been multiple events in question that garnered significant coverage (WP:What BLP1E is not applies).

  • Keep per Gidionb. Vlaemink (talk) 11:20, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep. Easily passes GNG. Whether or not the article passes PROF isn't relevant because notability of academics isn't bound to PROF and PROF alone; they can be notable based on other policies as well. BLP1E doesn't apply either because Pettit has coverage due to a whole host of events, not just one. Major BEFORE failure. Cortador (talk) 19:30, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
I read the NlWiki article in its entirety before opening the AfD and saw the extensive sourcing the article, so I am well aware of the substantial coverage this issue has got in the Netherlands. I disagree that this person has long-term notability even if they have had a substantial burst of coverage over the last year WP:BLP says Being in the news does not in itself mean that someone should be the subject of a Wikipedia article. I think it is legitimate disagreement rather than a WP:BEFORE failure. Hemiauchenia (talk) 19:41, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
So sometimes people are in the news because they are the partner of someone. In such cases it makes sense not to allow articles under NOTNEWS. A better way to look at such cases is NOTINHERETED. That is entirely different from people who are famous activists, musicians, criminals, footballers or whatever. Claiming randomly that someone in the medium run (a very specific time span!) will suddenly become less of interest is (odd!) crystal balling. We can't know that. If they are famous now and the coverage is sustained then an article is justified. gidonb (talk) 07:54, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
I think the point is we should not expect anything. Whether coverage continues should be irrelevant to the AFD. If coverage drops to zero from today onwards, it should not matter because there is already enough to justify an article. That's why we require there is already sustained coverage before we create articles. We won't have anything new but that's fine since we don't need anything new. (This is actually always a problem in BLPs since even if it article makes clear we're only talking about one point in time, many especially subjects feel it's unfair when things have changed years from now and we don't reflect that. But that's a discussion for another time and place.) If you think there is sustained coverage you should be fine with us keeping the article in such a case. If you think we can only keep an article is coverage continues at current or at least some level then I'd suggest we're not yet at sustained coverage level, only when you feel an article is justified whatever happens. Nil Einne (talk) 02:23, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
Fair point. A person is not an event. Notability is not temporary. gidonb (talk) 15:05, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
Notability is not temporary, certainly, but do not confuse that with topicality. This person is notable, even though their topicality will fluctuate. Just like with every (formerly) living person.Vlaemink (talk) 10:27, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Confusing concepts is never wise. Thanks for pointing out that there are many concepts one may also consider. gidonb (talk) 04:12, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete per BLP1E and WP:ROTM. I'm concerned about this becoming a dangerous precedent, because this is a terrible case. Lots of people get into trouble at work and, since at least 2005, we have been avoiding any defamation against living people. Bearian (talk) 01:38, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
@Bearian: 'Run of the mill'-cases do not get sustained coverage by Dutch national news sources, all of them reputable and trustworthy. There's a difference between getting 'in trouble at work' due to a faux pas, mistake or coincidence and being a (controversial) public political organizer and activist alongside your academic career. Vlaemink (talk) 10:18, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
In my opinion there is no reliable evidence that he is an "organiser" - activist yes, but not organiser. Many people take part in activism. I also feel the article reads like a piece of defamation and was quite shocked by it. For example, the article fails to mention that there was a petition signed by 540 university staff supporting him - names and positions provided. If the article remains it would need a lot of editing. ~2026-16688-54 (talk) 17:35, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
With all due respect, but your opinion does not matter here, reliable and valid sources do. You might personally dispute or refuse to believe that Pettit was an organizer, but this is what reliable and credible sources do state. You are also misinformed on a petition signed by "540 university staff members", the petition you're most likely referring to was in fact signed by 491 people; of which around 200 were linked to the Radboud University, most of them students (the Radboud University has a staff of about 5500 and 25.000 students) . By comparison, a petition calling for Pettits dismissal garnered 12000 signatures within two days. You seem to think that the controversies involving Pettit were some local, minor events. The Netherlands has 18 million inhabitants, it takes a particular amount of effort and notability for people to be openly discussed by ministers, to have questions asked about you in parliament and to be featured on the 8 o'clock news. Vlaemink (talk) 21:49, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
The up-to-date version of the petition has 540 signatures. There is only one reference to him being a possible "organiser" - a reported allegation by single indivdual who may have had a grudge against him (ref. 6). There is also no reference to a published letter from jewish staff and students wrote supporting him, and the article still states at the beginning that he was dismissed from Radboud, which is also not correct (see ref 4). ~2026-16688-54 (talk) 18:19, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete. "Their citation record is pretty weak" grossly understates the matter: his citation record is almost non-existent. Any decision to keep needs to come from his political activity, for which he appears to be just another rabble rouser. Athel cb (talk) 13:58, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Ah, but is he a notable rabble-rouser? Has he received sustained coverage by multiple independent, reliable sources? Will he be covered in 5 years? Or has his 15 minutes of fame ended? ~2026-17182-02 (talk) 21:41, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
The sources listed in the article, are all either major Dutch and Belgian newspapers, Dutch parliamentary records and/or the Dutch state broadcaster; which have commented on his controversial actions continuously for about two years. So it's beyond any reasonable doubt that he's received sustained coverage by multiple independent, reliable sources. To speculate about where this person will be in 5 years is just that: speculation; but to describe the amount of attention this person has received as merely representing '15 minutes of fame' is grossly misrepresenting the level and quality of coverage.Vlaemink (talk) 12:45, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete. I think the BLPN noticeboard is correct to call this an attack page, and there is a lack of SIGCOV. Note that the Harry Pettit#Early life, education and career has no citations, the source in that graf on the Dutch page is an interview with the subject. The bulk of the article is a controversies section disguised with alternative labels, how can this possibly become balanced? Since there are comments here from IP user/s, I want to note that the content here should be covered by the Arab–Israeli conflict contentious topic remedies.—BrechtBro (talk) 21:00, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
The BLPN noticeboard did not call this an 'attack page', an IP claiming (,) to be the subjects mother did. Now if true (which is a big if) then I would understand a mother's worries about this article, as it touches upon a number of highly controversial issues in addition to the academic career. But the controversies listed, have received sustained reporting by reliable and national Dutch and Belgian media. His actions and comments have been discussed in Dutch parliament. His comments and actions let to his firing from two major universities and led to the involvement of the Dutch minister of education. The article is perfectly balanced, in that it describes Pettit's actions, comments and their consequences factually. It's unrealistic to expect an article equally (50/50) representing the views of Pettit's supporters and opponents. Vlaemink (talk) 12:38, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
The discussion itself may be internally balanced, but it UNDUE in the biography. Under headings titled for universities, there are one and a half sentences on his academic career and seven paragraphs discussing controversies. WP:BLP states, "When writing about a person noteworthy only for one or two events, including every detail can lead to problems—even when the material is well sourced." This is a WP:BLPBALANCE problem: the article is a coat rack to discuss the controversy rather than a biography of the subject. —BrechtBro (talk) 16:32, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
The sources and information present in the article are portrayed in a NPOV and come from valid and reliable sources. While I agree that the level of detail could (possibly) pose a problem, that's not a problem of notability and it doesn't make this an attack page (as you stated above); WP:BLPN clearly says that an attack page is "unsourced and negative in tone". This article simply doesn' t meet those criteria.Vlaemink (talk) 19:53, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
@ Vlaemink you make the same mistakes again - the earliest reference given about him is 11th March '25 - so just over one year, and he was not "fired" from Radboud (as also stated in para 1 of the article). The article is not factually accurate, facts that are in his favour have been downplayed or omitted and those that are accurate are reported in prejudiced way.
I don't know is it's relevant to mention here but Dr Pettit has also been included now in a Wikipedia article: "Antisemitism in Contemporary Belgium" where he never lived or worked. In addition he strongly denies being an anti-semite, which again is also not mentioned in the current article we are dealing with. I left a note in the "Talk" section of the article about Antisemitism in Belgium but no action has been taken and there has been no response. Many thanks. ~2026-19089-72 (talk) 13:37, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
Please try to stay on topic. What's being discussed here, is this persons notability. I'm not responsible for what's added to "Antisemitism in contemporary Belgium", an article I've never read let alone edited; and if you believe the article contains inaccuracies; or even prejudice ... you're free to address this, either in the article itself or on its talkpage. Furthermore, I'm aware that (you claim that) Pettit is your son, but I will explicitly state that the article doesn't call Pettit an antisemite; it mentions that certain commentators and organizations have characterized his statements as such. That's rather different.Vlaemink (talk) 19:53, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

  • delete Soldiers Delight is well-known for its odd flora but listing everything that grows there is not helpful or encyclopedic, so I don't see a merge from this material. Mangoe (talk) 20:27, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

The result was delete. Consensus is against retention and there's a solid argument made against a merger at this stage. 2020s American renouncement of allies

2020s American renouncement of allies (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

Fundamentally a WP:RFORK of Foreign policy of the second Trump administration, basically duplicating the scope and content. Also dabbles in some WP:SYNTH/CFORK-ness of Greenland crisis, 2025–2026 United States trade war with Canada and Mexico, 2026 Iran war, American expansionism under Donald Trump, and others. The Kip (contribs) 02:56, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Merge into Foreign policy of the second Trump administration, like many things he spouts off on about, the actual long-term ramifications of this is questionable at most. Also, most of the article doesn't even cover the "renouncement." Was about to nominate for AFD myself. — Knightoftheswords 03:00, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Neutral - Whilst it is a bit of a redundant fork, I also can see it as an overarching trend over the Trump admin that would be useful to have a page for. Also it does read as a bit sensationalist, especially with the title. Yorked (talk) 04:10, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Move to Support Deletion - Almost completely written by one person, does push me toward opposing as per WP:SYNTH, and has been largely reviewed Yorked (talk) 04:21, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • supporting deletion Yorked (talk) 04:22, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Support Deletion and Merge Not only is this an unnecessary fork off of the foreign policy article, but this article is also very evidently biased against Trump. I am not a Trump supporter and I am certainly not a fan of his foreign policy, but this article simply recounts Trump’s imperialist statements and the global outrage they created, not official changes in diplomatic relations. There is no purpose to this article except disparaging Trump’s policies and the information should simply be included in a condensed section on the foreign policy article. John Adams 362 (talk) 04:31, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete: There are so many failures here. WP:NPOV, WP:CFORK, WP:SYNTH, and WP:NTRUMP all come to mind when reading this. This topic should properly be covered at the foreign policy page. MidnightMayhem (talk) 04:53, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete - Oppose merge. Foreign policy of the second Trump administration is already over 18,000 words long. If the article is an RFORK, the correct procedure is to summarise this article in that one. (WP:SPLIT, WP:SUMMARY) Also: Neutrality is not a reason for deletion! (WP:ITSNOTNEUTRAL) Nor is WP:NTRUMP). Hawkeye7 (discuss) 05:02, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
@Hawkeye7 From my look-over of both articles, this one is basically SYNTHing bits and pieces of the foreign policy article into a new one that just removes the non-ally parts of said article and frames it all as a singular event - it already is summarized/contained in the original, hence why it's an RFORK. The Kip (contribs) 05:29, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Is it summarised in the original or contained? If the latter, then deletion is more appropriate. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 22:04, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Leaning delete, agree with the others above that this article WP:SYNTHs of a number of different statements relating to different formal allies to create a topic not covered by the sources. It also doesn't really reflect the sources it currently uses. Some relevant subtopics being weaved together are already WP:SPLIT into their own articles, others if overloading the foreign policy article should also be split into more discrete subtopics supported by sources. CMD (talk) 08:43, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete - I was invited to contribute to this article, but aside from asking about the choice of name on the talk page, I haven't done so. On reflection, I agree that it's a synthesis - it largely responds very literally to some grandiose things Trump said in the past week or so, and stitches together conceptually related things to try to make a coherent whole. It may be that in future such a thing is possible from reliable secondary sources, but I don't think that exists yet. (This contrasts strongly with Democratic backsliding in the United States, which does use the same terminology as the reliable secondary sources it draws on.) GenevieveDEon (talk) 08:47, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete per WP:SYNTH and WP:TNT. I have no doubt this is a good faith effort by the article creator, but this article as it stands is synthesis. There aren’t sufficient reliable sources which use this concept of a “2020s American renouncement” and link together these events, in order to justify this article. I also share the concerns about a merge - I think the subject articles we would merge this into cover it sufficiently already. FlipandFlopped ㋡ 15:42, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Delete per all above. Very clearly a synth and NPOV violations Ion.want.uu (talk) 16:06, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Speedy SNOW/quick delete per all above. I have no idea why this article exists even. TwistedAxe [contact] 19:40, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
@Twistedaxe: under which WP:CSD are you calling for a speedy deletion? None of the other participants claim this falls under our speedy deletion criteria, so I'm not sure what you mean by per all above. Owen× ☎ 20:29, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
My apologies, I misworded it. Speedy delete definitely was not the right word to use, but rather, a quick delete as everyone above was in favor of deleting. I think the correct term here would be a WP:SNOW delete. TwistedAxe [contact] 22:51, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Got it. In that case, it's probably a good idea for you to strike out "Speedy". Owen× ☎ 23:01, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep per WP:SIZESPLIT. Foreign policy of the second Trump administration has a prose size of ~18,300 words, 3,300 above the guideline for splitting at WP:SIZERULE. Article covers a specific facet of the administrations foreign policy with extensive coverage on his split with organisations such as NATO and the UN. Merging into the foreign policy article would certainly then require another split or massive cull of information. SYNTH has been invoked but SYNTH is not a policy, it merely states that SYNTH often constitutes original research.
Would this article constitute a single section in the foreign policy article (with subsections, obviously)? i.e. would you say that splitting the contents of this article into multiple separate sections would be excessive or unnecessary? Considering this article as a size split, yes would presumably also mean that this article does not qualify for SYNTH, if that were so then SYNTH would mean we should cover them separately in the foreign policy article.
WP:POVFORK is invoked and I admit the article lead is not particularly neutral but the article is not a POV fork in the sense of that guideline; it isn't a redundant fork made to promote a specific viewpoint. Per Hawkeye7, Neutrality is not a reason for deletion! (WP:ITSNOTNEUTRAL), the solution is fixing the article and presenting it neutrally, not deleting the article. Respectfully dissenting, Coleisforeditor (talk) 12:10, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
SYNTH is part of OR which is policy, a basic one at that. The essay you cite should have no bearing on this basic fact.
The article content is indeed largely OR (read SYNTH) in the way that is covered here. US Isolationism, expansionism, America First[ism] are ineed extant and covered at their specific pages but renunciation isn't, which is where these topics are being folded into. I see nothing here to be salvaged here. Gotitbro (talk) 16:02, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Allow me to rephrase; SYNTH itself is not policy but instead part of a wider policy and merely states that very often SYNTH content violates OR. It doesn't prohibit SYNTH in the same way a policy dedicated to it would. Respectfully dissenting, Coleisforeditor (talk) 18:49, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Also per WP:POTENTIAL (an essay but an essay that rephrases/explains part of WP:N); Europedian's argument for keep demonstrates well the article is salvagable as opposed to deletion.
I add that perhaps the article could be moved to present it more neutrally; "renouncement of allies" is strong language not used by any reliable sources. Respectfully dissenting, Coleisforeditor (talk) 18:55, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete/merge There's too much overlap here. Even if the main article is long enough to warrant certain splits, this is a somewhat haphazard way to do it and there's still a lot of redundancy in pretty much every section. Reywas92Talk 15:53, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete / Early Close aka informal speedy per WP:SNOW and... a lot else. It's possible that we need splits of Foreign policy of the second Trump administration but they should be by year, and not highlight random stupid thoughtless comments. There's too many and they're inconsistent, so playing up one as the "real" one is problematic. SnowFire (talk) 04:17, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Strongly Keep, saying this article should be merged into the Foreign policy of the second Trump Administration wouldn’t do the scope of this subject justice. Then you could say the 2026 United States intervention in Venezuela could be merged too, because the scope of that event is more limited in comparison.
But, the article needs to be updated a lot.
  • So, the pattern of behavior of this American administration has a lot of ripple effects outside of America. Of course, the article focusses a lot on big elements as Greenland, Canada, and Iran, but I’m missing a lot of information too.
  • Such as Denmark preparing for an US invasion of Greenland [01], thought experiment on Dutch public broadcasting consisting of the scenario that an US invasion of Greenland could also include Iceland [02], the US phasing-out NATO presence in Europe [03], discussions on the preparation of a NATO without the US [04] [05]. Dutch public and political resentment against an American acquisition of DigiD (an identity management platform used by Dutch governmental organisations) [06].
  • Or things like US sanction on the International Criminal Court. [07] Trump saying that Starmer (UK) was too late with help in the Iran War. [08] Experts who say that the Coalition of the Willing [09] could (temporarily) replace (military) decision making in NATO or the EU, because it doesn't include Hungary, Slovakia, and the US.
  • Or the reducing of US dependency. Such as banks wanting to be less dependent on American tech. [10] Discussions on reducing American tech in general. [11] The Belgian government moving away from apps like WhatsApp and Messenger, in favor of a Belgian developed app called Beam. [12] Movements as European Alternatives, [13] and various Reddits as r/BuyFromEU, [14] r/BuyUK, [15] and r/BuyCanadian. [16]
  • Foreign US interference into EU politics with multiple calls from Musk to abolish the EU. [17] [18] Interference from the people behind Project 2025 who say that “it’s in the interest of the US that the EU is getting dismantled” [19], and senior research fellow Jump Dempsey saying that Europe is a competitor for the Trump-administration. [20] The disagreement of regulating tech services with the US sanctioning Thierry Breton because of his involvement on the Digital Services act. [21]
  • Leaked pages of the 2025 National Security Strategy which show the US want to destabilize the EU by pulling out Italy, Austria, Poland, and Hungary. [22] Rubio only visiting Eurosceptic presidents Fico and Orbán, of Slovakia and Hungary respectively, right after the 2026 Munich Security Conference. [23] One of which has upcoming elections, which he can lose, but he gets support from the Trump-administration. [24] Trump lying about the NATO-Afghanistan mission. [25] American ambassadors looking for confrontations with the governments of Belgium, France, and Poland. [26]
  • Or the broader implications that come with the isolationist and disrespectful behavior of this US administration, in combination with the fact that the US democracy is sliding back. [27] The US is losing a lot of it's soft power and you could even argue that the US is basically stepping down as leader of the “western world” or the “free world”, creating a void which is only big enough to be filled by the EU, since that’s the only entity that is big enough.
  • An example of this can already be seen in the statistics of the Kiel Institut which show that US support for Ukraine dried up, and Europe is filling the spot that America left. [28] Or calls asking for a boycott of the World Cup in the US, such as a Dutch crowdfunding action with currently 170k signings, [29] [30] or calls from Mark Pieth, a Swizz defense lawyer, and Sepp Blatter, a Swiss football administrator that was president of FIFA. [31]
Infobox needs an update too
  • The Opposing parties need to be different. With NATO begin replaced by the EU. Also including Greenland on that side off course. With all their veto-usage in the EU you could maybe say that Hungary (Orbán) and Slovakia (Fico) fall under the United States side. Lead figures depend on dossiers. Von der Leyen (EU), Macron (France), and Merz (Germany), need to be there as they threatened to retaliate with the trade bazooka if Trump would take action on Greenland, and, including Starmer (UK), on their work on the Coalition of the Willing.
  • Don’t forget about Tusk (Poland). Or how about Mark Carney (Canada) with his speech on the 2026 Munich Security Conference. Alexander Stubb (Finland) and Giorgia Meloni (Italy) who were present at the August 2025 White House meeting. Or Jens-Frederik Nielsen (Greenland) on the Greenland dossier.
  • Adding a source to (almost) every country in Opposing parties and every person in Lead figures confirming their side.
  • Different image, maybe this one of Trump and Von der Leyen
  • Maybe adding the Strait of Hormuz crisis by status, and maybe an escalation date starting right after the 2026 United States intervention in Venezuela on January 3rd, 2026. Maybe you could even argue that the Age and health concerns about Donald Trump could be a cause.
And then there are lots and lots of other things
  • Such as: the US removing military from South-Korea because of the Iran War, EU-US trade war, trade war in general, EU deals with Mercosur and India, Canadian deal with China, Nobel Peace Prize letter of Trump, the CLOUD Act, Vance 2025 Munich Security Conference speech, Trump-Zelenskyy Oval Office meeting, the Signal group chat leaks, revoking Canada's Board of Peace invitation, most EU member states declining that invitation, Japan/South-Korea/Australia not even responding, Trump making jokes about Pearl Harbor to Takaichi (Japan), European alternative to Mastercard and Viso called Wero (based on the Dutch iDeal), expansion of the France nuclear umbrella, etc, etc, ect.
  • Article might be better if it’s segmented per country or entity. For heading u can use:
    • European Union (segmented per member state, including most of the 27 member states)
    • Europea (non-EU) (think about the UK, Ukraine, Norway, Iceland)
    • Northern America (of course Canada, and the autonomous territory of Greenland)
    • Asian Pacific (Japan, South-Korea, Australia, maybe even New-Zealand)
  • The accusations of Russian favorability from the US over Europe is something I’ve heard too. You could also add something like another analysis of US favorability over Europe from NATO.
Europedian (talk) 09:53, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Maybe this information would fit better on the Talk Page, but it shows the importance and potential which an article about a subject like this has.
The infobox is something I can upgrade a bit. The thing is, I don't disagree with any of your analysis here. But it's your analysis. Per WP:SYNTH, we can't just stitch the disparate (though clearly thematically related) references together to create an article which states a conclusion not found in any of them. If we are going to have an article on this topic, we should start from a core of reliable sources which do state the conclusion clearly in their own words. GenevieveDEon (talk) 10:46, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
GenevieveDEon is exactly right. This long analysis would probably make a great term paper for a university-level political science class. However, this is an encyclopedia, and for our purposes, your entire !vote is textbook WP:SYNTH. None of what you said relates to WP:N. You need to identify independent reputable sources which expressly link all of these events together and refer to a "2020s American Renouncement". FlipandFlopped ㋡ 03:43, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

I am from the region where this temple situates, the article is wonderful and eventhough all the stories related to temple has not been included, it is worth to be preserved. The temple is part of the Kerala History and is related other temples in the region. The author has taken great pain in referring to various events related to the temple. • Keep: #1 criterion of WP:NBUILD as well as WP:GNG. It has "historic, social, economic, or architectural importance".
  1. "Kolathukara Shiva Temple. The plan is to upgrade the temple as a national heritage tourism destination considering the status of‘Shivaprathishta’ by Sree Narayana Guru after the famed Aruvippuram Prathishta in 1888." It indicates it is historically and socially significant.
  2. This states "It was at this temple that Sree Narayana Guru, as part of his fight against social evils, installed his second idol of Lord Siva, after the famed Aruvippuram Prathista of 1888." That's a bit of info in an RS.
  3. - SIGCOV about temple in RS.
  4. - Very detailed SIGCOV in a Govt. source
  5. This confirms the fact that "Sri Narayana Guru composed the Kolatireshastavam in praise of Kolathukara Mahadeva." Although the source might not be an RS, but confirms it's significance in the local culture.
  6. This states - "Kulathoor Kolathukara Siva Temple - 1893 March 27 (M.E 1068 Meenam 13) In this temple the Guru installed the Sivalingam by replacing an old ido Bhadrakali." Some history of the temple before its association with Guru.
  7. - About the worship rituals of the temple prior to the Guru's association with it.
  8. - Temple inaugurated by Guru and some additional coverage
  9. - Has some coverage although probably not an RS.

... he described the launch as "a significant milestone in the preservation and promotion of the Sylheti language and culture."

The creation of the Sylheti Wikipedia has been described as an important development for the language's digital preservation. The Business Standard characterized it as "an effort to preserve the heritage of the 'Sylheti' language," noting that Sylheti speakers face concerns about their linguistic identity being erased.

The Wikipedia edition serves not only as an encyclopedia but also as a platform for documenting and revitalizing the script.

The launch has also drawn attention to the broader debate about Sylheti's status as a language rather than a dialect.

... the project provides a link to ancestral language and culture.

    — Sylheti Wikipedia

The article undeniably focuses on the status and preservation of the Sylheti language a lot. This is all pretty obviously written by an LLM, which in my opinion shows a lack of respect for the language and does it no favours, and also reflects badly on Wikipedia in and of itself. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 15:38, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Strongly oppose redirection if it was LLM-generated. Geschichte (talk) 20:25, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
Phrases such as ... has been described as an important development ..., ... noting that Sylheti speakers face concerns ..., ... serves not only as an ... but also as ..., ... drawn attention to the broader debate ... reads like WP:AILEGACY to me. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 11:52, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Even your quotes show that the Wikipedia page IS the main focus of the article but, independently, the article can be trimmed/pruned. ~2026-16195-13 (talk) 00:16, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Sure, I wasn't saying that the article does not focus on the Wikipedia. My point was that it also focues on the importance of preserving the Sylheti language, and using an AI to talk about the importance of preserving a language is an affront to that language. Apologies if I was not clear. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 11:47, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

G15 (LLM-generated pages without human review) does not apply, in my view@Geschichte. The text does not present signs of "Communication intended for the user" nor "Implausible, non-existent, or nonsensical references". I have scanned the sections Background and Significance and the AI detector found them totally "Human written".... ~2026-16195-13 (talk) 00:14, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

Nominated for so many obvious reasons. Obituary copy not encyclopedic content. Known for only writing one song. No RS. Fails Music and Musician notability. Maineartists (talk) 01:22, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

"Lengthy" is a bit of an over-statement. It only tells a short "dramatization" of how the song came to be written (2 pages). Once again, he's only known for writing this one song. Nothing more. Suggestion: create an article for the song and redirect subject. Maineartists (talk) 13:12, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep per the significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. The subject passes Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Basic criteria, which says:

People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject.

    • If the depth of coverage in any given source is not substantial, then multiple independent sources may be combined to demonstrate notability; trivial coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not usually sufficient to establish notability.

The book notes: "The year was 1925. A young American woman gave birth to a son. This birth was special in that this child was born to medical missionaries in Chungking, China, and before he reached the age of fifty, he was to touch the lives of millions for God. His name was Richard Blanchard. When Richard was less than five years of age, his parents were driven from China in the wake of a mighty Communist onslaught. The young couple and their child were brought to the United States and to the midwestern state of Indiana. As the child grew, he became tremendously interested in music, mainly the trombone. The late and great Homer Rodeheaver, because he was a friend of Richard's parents, paid fifty dollars for a down payment on such a horn, and the boy continued to make payments on it with revenues from a paper route. The years ahead brought a hitch in the Navy for Richard, degrees from Mercer and Emory universities, and then a pastorate in the United Methodist Church. In the years that fol-lowed, he pastored several of the largest Methodist churches in the state of Florida."

COMMENT Again, if it wasn't for this one song, nothing would ever be written about Blanchard. Nothing. Stories about hymns does not make their songwriter notable. There are dozens upon dozens of books that features "stories about hymns". (Then Sings My Soul, Amazing Grace: 366 Inspiring Hymn Stories, 101 Hymn Stories, 101 More Hymn Stories, The Stories of Hymns: The History Behind 100 of Christianity's Best-Known Hymns, The Complete Book of Hymns: Inspiring Stories about 600 Hymns and Praise Songs, etc) That doesn't warrant WP articles for every songwriter. It makes the song notable at best. These articles say the exact same thing and are associated with Ancestry.com (obituary). Ministers mentioned in a local paper about their service engagement or appearances also do not make them notable at WP. If that were the case, there would be millions of ministers eligible for inclusion. This particular songwriter is associated with one song (which does not have its own article at WP). The song should have an article; and the writer should be re-directed. There just is not enough on the writer himself that is actually notable. There is no coverage for any other independent song or composition; only mentions in obituaries as "also wrote." The above are not notable sources to merit inclusion. They just say the same thing over and over again for one song. "They have a son" is by no way notable. Ministers publish articles in magazines all the time. "Interested in writing as a hobby" is not notable. Find any article that SIG:COV another composition by this songwriter; not "Fill My Cup, Lord". "Noted hymn composer"? Hymn sites [Hymnal.net], [Hymnary.org] only list one hymn (Fill My Cup, Lord) for this "noted hymn composer". Maineartists (talk) 23:02, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
The sources provide significant biographical coverage of Richard E. Blanchard Sr., meaning he passes Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline, Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Basic criteria, and the first criterion of Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles.

Regarding Wikipedia:Notability#Whether to create standalone pages, the sources are focused on Blanchard's life and career rather than being focused on the song. There is enough content here to support a standalone article about Blanchard. Cunard (talk) 09:57, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep as there is enough reliable sources coverage identified in this discussion to enable a pass of WP:GNG so that deletion is unnecessary in my view. Also song-writers are notable for their songs not necessarily independently of them, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 23:36, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep based on the book I identified above and the obituary material surfaced by Cunard. With respect to the claim that he's only famous for one song, this seems to be exactly what WP:NCOMPOSER#1 is for. Oblivy (talk) 00:40, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
