A neighboring empire owning their land doesn't make for a direct equivalent of European overseas colonialism, and it isn't really clear where the line can even be drawn (would the Achaemenid Empire mean that Georgia–Iran relations falls under that category?)   • Delete. I suspect the concept here was a faulty idea that women are inherently more progressive than men, and thus much more likely to be Democrats than Republicans, so a woman being a Republican is "unusual" enough to warrant special mention — but lots and lots of Republican women have existed through American history, most of whom aren't currently in this category. And I don't see anywhere near enough value in crosscatting political party affiliation with gender to justify actually trying to fully populate this, either. Bearcat (talk) 23:46, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

    I would think topics like reparations, or anything discussing the unique cultural and structural heritage the world has inherited from Europe. I am not sure which articles exactly to select, but I feel confident the category will be of use, and it may be helpful to categorize by continent like this even for the other countries.   • @Altenmann: "Works set in X" should be a subcategory of "X in fiction". But "X in fiction" may also contain other stuff, such as fictional people from X, or other fictional elements in X. If the latter sort of content does not exist then the "X in fiction" is redundant. There is no need to add e.g. Category:Novels set in Minsk to Category:Minsk in fiction because it is already in Category:Works set in Minsk. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:04, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

Now back to my original question: it appears that all subcategories of Category:Prague in fiction, with the exception of "Films shot in Prague" are in its subcategory Category:Works set in Prague. It allows for proper classification of topics specifically related to the town, such as its history, culture, landmarks, and institutions, which may not be relevant to the broader district category.
