  • Keep All - These are among 22 subcats by nationality in Category:Physiotherapists. Our standard practice over the years has always been to exempt small subcats like these from automatic merging or deletion.
As a matter of fact, this practice was alluded to in the long-standing former guideline WP:SMALLCAT, which said "unless such categories are part of a large overall accepted sub-categorization scheme." And it's also referred to directly in the Essay at WP:MFN (which is a work-in-progress for a guideline to supersede WP:SMALLCAT), as follows:
6. The "large overall accepted sub-categorization scheme"
The "large established tree" clause exists so that categorizing editors can add articles to categories without checking beforehand whether that category exists or should exist. Because it is part of an established tree they may rely on the fact that it exists or should exist.
All of which supports what I said about it being our long-standing practice over the years to exempt such sub-cats from deletion or merging. Anomalous+0 (talk) 09:32, 1 August 2025 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was: implement Kaffet i halsen's alt rename. Further renaming can occur at WP:CFDS (if non-controversial and the speedy criteria are met) or at CFD (if not). Pinging @Kaffet i halsen and Fayenatic london in case they wish to make such nominations. If someone has a better name which satisfies Mclay1's concerns, feel free to make a speedy renomination. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 15:08, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
Nominator's rationale: Per consistency with the majority of the categories in People by region. I’ve chosen the "People by region in Foo" layout as opposed to "Fooian people by region", though I'm open to either one. - OpalYosutebitotalk』 『articles I want to eat』 17:38, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
  • There are at least 122 more. Do you want them included in this nomination, or as a speedy nomination afterwards (depending on this outcome)? If the former, do you have the possibility to tag them as I don't manage to Mass CFD–script for other dates than the current date. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 23:26, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
They are actually a lot more; I've found at least 489. I think it would be unwise to include them all here as there might be other aspects that are needed to be discussed. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 10:48, 20 August 2025 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was: merge to Category:Bandini Automobili. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 14:45, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
Nominator's rationale: Category appears to have been created by someone affiliated with Bandini and contained articles of cars contained by the company largely written by the same user. Most of those articles appear to have been deleted with only 3 links remaining in this category, two of which redirect to Bandini Automobili and the final one I have nominated for deletion as the article has a number of issues, including notability. I don't think it necessary to keep this category if there are only 0 or 1 items left. Giuliotf (talk) 16:57, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

  • Propose deleting Category:Chris Martin songs
Nominator's rationale: Content already covered at Category:Songs written by Chris Martin. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 16:37, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
  • Merge per nom. Marcocapelle (talk) 17:14, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
  • Merge per nom. Chris Martin was a writer of the one song filed here, but was not the performer of the song, so the "written by" category (which the same article is already in) fully covers off his relationship with it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not aware of any songs on which Chris Martin has ever been credited as a solo performer without Coldplay. Bearcat (talk) 20:30, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
There is "Homecoming" by Kanye West and "Heaven" by Avicii, but he co-wrote them as well. GustavoCza (talkcontribs) 22:17, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

Category:Prosecutors general by nationality

The result of the discussion was: rename as nominated (i.e. lowercase and with "... by country"). No consensus to unparent it as part of this CFD, but that can be sorted out via WP:BRD and talk page discussion. HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 02:34, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
Nominator's rationale: Per parent Category:Attorneys general by country. Their nationality is really not what matters here, but the country they serve. NLeeuw (talk) 00:48, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
PS: While I'm at it, should we use capital letters Prosecutors General of Fooland in the catnames or not?
Capitals
Prosecutors General of Armenia
Prosecutors General of Azerbaijan
Prosecutors General of the Republic (Brazil)
Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate
Public Prosecutors General of Germany
Prosecutors General of Japan
Prosecutors General of South Korea
Lowercase
Prosecutors general of Albania
Solicitors general for Scotland
Prosecutors general of Spain
Prosecutors general of Turkmenistan
Lord advocates
And shouldn't it always be prosecutors general rather than general prosecutors? Seems to me that the following are just poorly translated into English. All main articles say Prosecutor General of Fooland, so I'm just gonna speedy them per WP:C2D.
General Prosecutors
General Prosecutors of Bulgaria https://prb.bg/en/prosecutors-office/structure-and-organization the official English translations speak of Prosecutor(s) General.
General Prosecutors of Russia genproc.gov.ru website didn't respond but the main article is also Prosecutor-General of Russia
General Prosecutors of Ukraine. https://gp.gov.ua/ provides as the official English translation Prosecutor General's Office. NLeeuw (talk) 01:10, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
  • Rename to lowercase, this is about the country they serve. It is also similar to Category:Ambassadors of France etc.. Diplomats and military personnel may follow later. It should be lowercase, for consistency, many similar categories have been speedily renamed from uppercase to lowercase in the past year. Marcocapelle (talk) 04:11, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
Exactly, I was thinking the same. Lowercasing the child categories is something we could speedy as a follow-up then. NLeeuw (talk) 10:08, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
@Woko Sapien FYI you might be interested in this as you commented on my speedies well. NLeeuw (talk) 23:24, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
  • Support lowercase as these are all plurals and thus descriptions, not titles. While MOS:JOBTITLES doesn't explicitly apply to category names, there's also nothing that forbids it either. So my philosophy has long been that categories should conform to the manual of style as well. Woko Sapien (talk) 15:09, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
@Woko Sapien Thanks for you feedback! But the main question here is whether you agree it should be prosecutors by country rather than prosecutors by nationality? NLeeuw (talk) 15:14, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
Oops, my mistake! Yes, I support changing nationality to country as well, per your nomination. Nationality denotes the ethnicity of the officeholder, while country denotes the jurisdiction of the officeholder. Woko Sapien (talk) 15:26, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
  • Support renaming to "by country". Do not remove from parent Category:Prosecutors by nationality, but nominate that one likewise for renaming to Category:Prosecutors by country, because despite the subcat names "Fooian prosecutors" all of them are about the state served, not the origin of the individuals. Support lowercase per MOS:JOBTITLES. Support nominating subcats using word order "prosecutors general". Support not hyphenating where there is no justification for it; only the Chinese office seems to be consistently hyphenated in enwiki. – Fayenatic London 18:14, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
