    Eh, I guess. Not really the point I was making. Because that would imply that a film's narrative setting automatically tells us where it was shot. Unfortunately it is very often not as neat as that. They are not inherently overlapping topics, nor in practice as categories. But when they do overlap, how do we choose between categorizing an article with a "shot" category or a setting category? Choosing one over the other would be rather arbitrary. And we often don't even have both "shot" and setting categories for the same location, ie Films shot in Santa Clarita, California but no Films set in Santa Clarita, California. So an article such as the one you described would have Category:Films set in Los Angeles County, California. So what then? We don't categorize the article as Films shot in Santa Clarita, California? Or do we? Also, narrative settings are often fictional. Does that qualify for the "shot" categories? I'm just not convinced that a film is defined by its shooting location only when that location differs from the setting. If we were to even set the categories up as such the category names would have to be renamed to somehow account for that narrower grouping. Because "Films shot in [Location]" does not account for it, and editors obviously won't either. Meaning the categories will always be populated incorrectly. I see no use in going down this road.
