Per longstanding consensus, we do not categorize topics by characteristics of their name, such as grouping populated places by the matter of what other things they happen to have been named after. - Retain. Most Texas place names have been named in the last two centuries. Many of the settlers named their new locations for the places they came from, or for places that sounded classical or glamorous. This category brings all these examples together, making such a comparison simple. For example, there are a percentage of places names for German cities. - Delete This is 100% shared name. I could also point out lots of cases where this can be difficult to parse. For example if a city is named after another place in the US, which was in turn named after a city in England, or what is now Israel, or Greece, or anywhere else, does that city belong here. We do not categorize cities by what they are named after, or even what they are named.
