Nominator's rationale: Category and sub-categories are undefining and likely confusing to define. Everyone or almost everyone from Ohio is "educated" in some form, whether its college/university, grade school, homeschool, or via a local church/community.   • Keep This category is created to better organize alumni for each county representing Ohio. Just as the same as each school and college having a category for their respective schools. (which falls as a subsection for each category within each county). This creates better organization. The rationale you used is kind of irrelevant to why you nominated this for deletion. Everyone or almost everyone from Ohio is "educated" in some form, whether its college/university, grade school, homeschool, or via a local church/community. - correct however, this is organizing each of them. A category for each individual school is also listed in each county as well. It's better to organize them here rather than make them a subcategory of "High schools/colleges in Example County, Ohio." When the category is focused to the high school/college and not the alumni who attended it. Category and sub-categories are undefining and likely confusing to define. - not understanding what you mean by "undefining or likely confusing to define."   • Comment: Generally this deletion suggestion is because I've really only seen these sort of alumni of high school categories fall under something like "Education in [state]" or "Education in [county], [state]" for other states. --Engineerchange (talk) 20:30, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

  • Comment I think a more standard categorization would be to use a container category like Category:Alumni by high school in Florida and underneath that it does it as "Category:Alumni by high school in [county], Florida". And then, I'm sure you can follow a similar pattern at college level. E.g., (Level 1) Education in Ohio > (Level 2) Alumni by high school in Ohio > (Level 3) Alumni by high school in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. --Engineerchange (talk) 20:59, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete There is already a robust category structure for alumni by school / college / university. Creating a parallel structure tagging each individual article for each alumnus with the county in which they were educated is not defining at the individual level. I can't understand why every single entry in Category:Ohio State University alumni needs to also be in Category:People educated in Franklin County, Ohio at the level of the individual alumnus.   • Delete I do not think the county an educational institution is in is defining. At the college level there are institutions that are under one administration with locations in multiple counties. My Alma mater Wayne State University despite being vaguely named after Wayne County (technically since it was formed as part of Detroit Public Schools the only reason it is not named Detroit University is because there was already a University of Detroit) currently has a campus in Macomb County and used to it Oakland County. I am sure we could find cross county high school level institutions. I do not think this is a good way to categorize people.John Pack Lambert (talk) 23:04, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCLOCATION "avoid sub-categorizing subjects by location if that location does not have any relevant bearing on the subjects' other characteristics". While I'm unconvinced on the appropriateness of the entire Category:English YouTubers by county tree and the increasingly expanding sorting of people by English county despite previous CfD consensus and OCLOCATION, this nomination is for categories containing only one - three articles.
