      I'm not sure it is a problem. Yugoslavia belongs in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so for some categories Yugoslav topics can be parented to a Bosnian parent, as well as other successor states. Place Clichy (talk) 00:10, 13 January 2026 (UTC)

    The article does not belong in the current target. Relations of a country are not relations of countries formed by breaking that country up. What next are we going to treat the international relations of Indonesia as the international relations of East Timor?     This goes beyond the present discussion, but bilateral relations between two countries also include historical topics in many contexts. E.g. article Austria–Bosnia and Herzegovina relations of course covers content about the Austrian rule of Bosnia and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo. Nominator's rationale: A.D. Municipal Liberia redirects to Municipal Liberia. Global Sports Archive says Municipal Liberia was the team's name in 1980. Asociación Deportivo Municipal Liberia became the current name in 2011. Note that Municipal Liberia footballers is currently an empty soft redirected category back to A.D. Nominator's rationale: The article Jazz band predominantly uses "band" rather than ensemble, as does Swing music, and even Musical ensemble in the case of jazz. If this selective nomination is agreed, then other subcats using "ensembles" can be speedily renamed to "bands". – Fayenatic London 17:20, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
  • Oppose - This is basically an overlapcat situation, so having categorisation of jazz groups merged into a single tree makes sense. The problem here (which the overview article jazz band sort of waves at but doesn't much explain) is that jazz is very broad in definition, encompassing many styles and genres of music, with many varied presentation and performance types, encompassing varied types of performers and instruments as well. And so to this specific set of terms, ensemble is the broader term, than band. To give an example, a jazz quartet (which redirects to quartet), is more clearly a musical ensemble, not necessarily a musical band - which, interestingly does not redirect to musical ensemble, but to Band (rock and pop). I think the "jazz band" names should become category redirects instead, with the categories remaining at their current names. - jc37 20:11, 18 January 2026 (UTC)

  • Containerize Category:Macedonian Bulgarians
  • Nominators rationale This category mixes multiple things. As a name it is not clear what is meant by it, which is a big problem with double demonyms. There is going to be a need to split and Rename. We currently have Category:Bulgarians from Aegean Macedonia, which is the part of Macedonia now in Greece. This evidently combines people there in both the Ottoman and Greek periods. I am not convinced a trans-national geographical Category by ethnicity like this is wise. I just created Category:Bulgarian people in Ottoman Macedonia. That category will include Ottoman nationals and permanent residents in all parts of Nacedonia, not just Aegean Macedonia but North Macedonia and but also people from Blagoevgrad Province which is evidently part of Macedonia but currently in Bulgaria. We have Category:Greek people of Bulgarian descent here although not all those live in Bulgaria. I suspect we may want to create Category:Bulgarian people in North Macedonia; and Category:Bulgarian people in Yugoslavia to also cover this. Keep in mind that who is and who is not Bulgarian is a major point of dispute. The view of some was that all Slavic people in Macedonia were basically Bulgarian, others argued many were Serbs, and eventually an idea of a Macedonian Slavic people was created. If people in meaningful ways identified as Bulgarian we can categorize them as such, but if their ethnic identity is highly disputed we should use only non-disputed categories. I am not sure if we want to make this in the end a container of a disambiguation Category but I do not think we want any direct articles here.John Pack Lambert (talk) 15:21, 17 January 2026 (UTC)

There is going to be a need to split and Rename. this is to say this user is attempting to start a change for them to then leave it for other users to figure out what to make out of it.   • Oppose. It refers to ethnic Bulgarians from the region of Macedonia. This category concerns an ethnographic group. In reliable sources, it primarily refers to ethnic Bulgarians. As far as I know, the term is not even used for ethnic Macedonians and they definitely do not use it for self-identification, so there is no room for confusion. On the other hand, ethnic Bulgarians have definitely self-identified as such, even during the Ottoman period. The problem with those categories is that they are too broad and can also include ethnic Bulgarians who were not from the region of Macedonia but still lived in Ottoman Macedonia for example. I think it is important to have this category to distinguish. There are always controversies when it comes to ethnicity, but we cannot revise what people self-identified as.     I think something like Category:Myths about history could be misconstrued to be about things like the Trojan War or a mythological founder of a city. Perhaps it should just be upmerged to Category:Pseudohistory, as really this subcategory is just a collection of pseudohistory ideas that have the word "myth" in them.     I don't think that makes sense in this context. Not everything is history. Hypothetically, a myth about apples being made of cheese has nothing to do with history, as opposed to a myth about the American Civil War never happened. Mclay1 (talk) 07:13, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

  • Propose merging Category:Cottage Industry in Bangladesh to Category:Industry in Bangladesh
Nominator's rationale: merge, "cottage industry" does not fit anywhere in the category tree and it is not a huge category. If not merged it should at least be renamed to "industry" without capital. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:41, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
