    • Deleted, as a redirect seemed to serve no purpose and history was entirely corrupt. User restored text in spite of template and advisories at talk page. Now blocked for 72 hours. Will block for a longer term if he persists. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:44, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

  • 4/3 Infantry Battalion (history · last edit) from http://kirn.hypermart.net/3rd_US/contact.htm; http://www.aiipowmia.com/histories/histtomb.html; http://www.history.army.mil/books/R&H/R&H-FM.htm. This is a weird one. Large portions of the text are copied+pasted from army.mil subpages. However, other large sections are copied from the above sites. The first was unclear about its copyright status; the second asserts copyright; the third, while a .mil site, is a book written by an outside source and asserts an 1896 copyright. There are also a few sections (notably the one about Mexico) that I couldn't find a source for but believe are also copied from somewhere. There's only a few lines that are probably original work. • Green tickY That is a weird one. While much of the text is public domain (a book published in 1896 is old enough to be free for use by anyone), I wasn't sure about . However, it turns out that was copied from a US military site, and works of the US government (and employees in commission of their duties) are also PD. I've suggested at the talk that the contributors may want to use proper attribution templates to help avoid this confusion in the future. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:06, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
