Some comments to get things started:

(1) There seem to be a great number of redlinks for the names of competing skaters. I've noticed that this also happened for previous years of these Championships. Are all there redlinks needed? I'm also aware that its difficult to predict which skaters will excel in the future in order to get their own pages eventually; are all the redlinks fully necessary?

• I don't think it's an unreasonable number of redlinks. The standard seems to be about five years, after which point if they haven't established themselves as noteworthy skaters by then, it's unlikely they ever will. Also, it's easier to remove a redlink than it is to go back and add a blue one.

(2) Fairly comprehensive prose throughout in the various sections, and well written prose.

(3) The closing section on the Crash seems to be both responsibly and respectfully written. The linked article is also comprehensive. It would still be nice to see the reflective comments made by both President Trump and by the Pope from the Vatican added in short form. Nothing more than a sentence or two added at the end would be useful.

• The Pope and Donald Trump have absolutely nothing to do with this competition and anything they might have said would be grossly out of place. That would more appropriately belong in the 2025 Potomac River mid-air collision article.

Hi Gog the Mild: Thanks for contacting me about this. My request was that Bgsu98 acknowledge condolences from President Trump and the Pope extended concerning this tragedy for one of the worst disasters in American sports for the last decade, which he has called "grossly" inappropriate. That seems to be on the cold side of things for me and not in the best service of the article, and without his acknowledging condolences in this article (only a 20-30 word edit) extended to the families suffering from these losses, then I should probably recuse myself from further review. The "cold side of things" might be blaming the accident on "diversity in hiring" with zero information about the cause of the crash, or when asked if he planned on visiting the accident site, saying something along the lines of, What am I supposed to do, go swimming? For the record, it was any mention of Donald Trump that would be grossly out of place (and inappropriate) on this article, considering the insensitive, tone deaf, and prejudicial statements he made following the accident. The bottom line is this article is about a figure skating event, albeit one with a sad coda, and any response to the accident beyond the scope of the skating community is out of place here and would be more appropriate at the 2025 Potomac River mid-air collision article. Figureskatingfan comments

Another stellar article from Bgsu98. I know that they've asked the coordinators to close this nom, but I give it my enthusiastic SUPPORT.

A few comments that won't affect anything:

• I agree that the prose is well-done and I agree that the section about the plane crash is respectful and also well-done.
• It's unfortunate that there are no pictures of Efimova and Mitrofanov, which also affects several other articles. SpiritedMichelle will be at Nationals in St. Louis next week as a photographer for WikiPortraits, and I'm sure they'll get some, so make sure that you add them once they're downloaded on Commons. • In the "Changes to preliminary assignments" section, I'd suggest adding a brief sentence to link the prose to the table — at the moment the fact that the preceding sentence refers to "the initial list of entrants" means that it took me a little while to work out that the table wasn't the initial list of entrants. I'm thinking of something roughly along the lines of "Five changes to the initial list of entrants were announced in the lead-up to the competition" Done
• "the theme of the rhythm dance this season" — suggest changing "this season" to "for the 2024–25 season" or similar Slight change to "for this season"
• "Only Nathan Chen has won a U.S. Championship title by a greater margin" - this statement risks becoming dated. You could consider tweaking the tense to specify that this was true at the time of the 2025 championship Done
• "rallied back with a spectacular free skate" - don't think we should refer to the performance as "spectacular" in wikivoice Added quotation marks since that word was used in the source
• "Only Kimmie Meissner won" - similar to my earlier comment, suggest changing to "had won" to specify that this was true at the time of the victory Done
• "delivered a stunning free skate to win the junior women's title" - again, don't think we should refer to the performance as "stunning" in wikivoice Done
• "Von Felten had made history the year before" - "made history" doesn't feel like a neutral phrasing I think I used it because it echoed what she had said about making history; nevertheless, I altered it to "set a similar record".
• "including Ilia Malinin, Amber Glenn, Madison Chock and Evan Bates, Alysa Liu, Nathan Chen, Scott Hamilton, and Johnny Weir" - optional, but grouping Chock and Bates together in this list interrupts the flow a little - suggest just listing them separately with a comma in between Done
