On what grounds is this image not a US work? A work made by an American author and seemingly only ever exhibited in the US does not seem to have any way to be considered a foreign work. For completeness, I can confirm that this painting was reproduced in a 1963 newspaper, presumably with permission of the museum, given the number of works reproduced. Even if the original exhibition was not considered publication, reproduction in a newspaper would constitute publication and would therefore require renewal for continued copyright protection, which I was unable to find, so PD in the US. - Keep, if that what this discussion is about (I can't tell from the above why this image is being discussed). At a minimum the image anchors its own article and should be kept per fair use. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:19, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- I'm trying to figure out a) why this image is tagged as a non-US work and b) why it's being hosted here instead of at Commons through this discussion. Based5290 :3 (talk) 01:11, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- Work is clearly PD, painting is from 1926 and was published in a brochure in 1927 https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/489813 Transferring to commons Surajr7 (talk) 02:08, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

- Delete, Couldn't transfer to commons because of the discussion template, I have uploaded a higher quality image to commons File:Georgia O'Keeffe - Black Iris 1926 MET.jpg so this image is redundant Surajr7 (talk) 02:20, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
