Plausibly public domain as the organization is over 100 years old. Does anyone know if the logo was first published after 1930? Qzekrom (she/her talk) 03:48, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Move to Commons Per trademark registration, this was first used in 1915. While not definitively "publication", trademarks are obviously publicly facing, so publication before 1931 can reasonably be inferred. Based5290 :3 (talk) 05:14, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Suggest moving to Commons as this logo may be below TOO. Qzekrom (she/her talk) 03:58, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

I'll defer to others on whether it is original enough to pass WP:TOO but it always struck me as looking more like a volleyball, rather than the intended globe. RevelationDirect (talk) 04:24, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Does messing with coloring of two letters really make this logo copyrightable? I think this logo should be moved to Commons. Based5290 :3 (talk) 10:02, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

  • Comment how does the service mark (sm) play into this? It looks like there is one at the top right of the N in Brain. TipsyElephant (talk) 16:30, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
    • Not at all. The letters "SM" aren't copyrightable either, and neither enwiki nor commons restrict the use of trademarked but public domain imagery. —Cryptic 16:50, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
Probably not, because Mere coloration or mere variations in coloring alone are not eligible for copyright protection. (Compendium § 906.3, "Colors, Coloring, and Coloration") Qzekrom (she/her talk) 03:34, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

Non-free image of a living individual. Previously nominated under CSD F7, but tag removed twice.   Chris Woodrich (talk) 14:52, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
