Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Games
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Games: board, card, etc. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Games|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Games: board, card, etc. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

WP:TOOSOON to tell if this is a bigger event that needs a separate article. As it stands now, there's no reason why it shouldn't be covered as a blurb or paragraph at Minecraft instead. GSK (talk • edits) 16:48, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

- Redirect to Minecraft#Bedrock Edition and console editions. WP:NOTNEWS, clearly not notable as an event in its own right, only discussed in relation to what it shows about the game at the redirect target. ~ A412 talk! 17:05, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Redirect Clearly far too soon, fails NOTNEWS. Masem (t) 17:07, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Redirect per above. This honestly could've been WP:BLAR-ed. I doubt it could've been contested. Obviously not worth a separate article. I will mention that I'm currently planning an article centered around the development history of Minecraft's console editions (similarly to Development of Minecraft: Java Edition), which would obviously cover the leak, so maybe the redirect can re-target there when that's done. λ NegativeMP1 17:09, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hey λ NegativeMP1, can we add the surviving citations to the target redirect article? I don't think Dungeons source code has been mentioned yet. - No, we can't, because Sportskeeda is not a reliable source. λ NegativeMP1 18:19, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

- Delete This regards legacy editions of the game which are unsupported, and would be like someone leaking Windows 98 code now; irrelevant and pointless, plus the content and sources just aren't there at all. Nathannah • 📮 20:25, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

- I don't mean to discourage you, but I'm not really sure what you expect to accomplish seeing the way this discussion has been going, as I don't foresee the draft being accepted because of the reasons outlined above by other editors. However, this is still a good practice to get into; you should probably be making new articles as drafts to begin with instead of creating in mainspace unless the subject has significant reliable coverage. GSK (talk • edits) 21:36, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

From Google Translate: "An avid fan of quiz shows in the vein of *Génies en herbe*, Sherbrooke native Guillaume Breault-Duncan began competing yesterday on *Ultimatum*, a new game show hosted nightly throughout the week by Yvan Ponton on TVA. "It’s a general knowledge game that leaves plenty of room for strategy, but also for luck," explains Guillaume, who is currently entering his second year of a bachelor's degree in history at the Université de Sherbrooke. "Even though it bears a resemblance to American shows like *Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?* and *The Weakest Link*, *Ultimatum* is a 100 percent Quebec-made concept," notes Guillaume, who is delighted to see such a show make its debut in Quebec. Throughout the week, the Sherbrooke contestant will face off against the same four competitors. The group will go head-to-head, attempting to eliminate one another by posing questions drawn from fifteen different categories—including Cinema and Television, Science and Technology, Real-Life Stories, Amazing Facts, Animals, Sports and Leisure, Geography, and more."

From Google Translate: "How could one ever replace the "Mirror," the "Ricochet," and the "Trap"—the most effective trio imaginable for winning a general knowledge competition? It simply couldn't be done. And what of the sheer intensity Yvan Ponton brought to hosting this quiz show, which aired on TVA in the early 2000s? A wide array of questions divided into 12 categories, the ability to quickly target an opponent, and thousands of dollars in prize money at stake made *Ultimatum* a truly unique event—one where it was far better to seize control than to fall victim to an attack. The final round took on the air of a grand showdown, pitting multiple challengers against the reigning champion."

From Google Translate: "Yvan Ponton is also the host of *Ultimatum* (during the regular season), a quiz show that is now in its third season. In a television landscape where everything is consumed and digested at lightning speed, Yvan Ponton views the show's three-year run as a remarkable feat. "I have nothing against entertainment television, but I do find it a bit superficial at times. We, however, come along with a game that requires general knowledge, and we manage to attract an average of 750,000 viewers a day. And our celebrity specials reach around a million people. For the upcoming season, we’ve added some new elements. For instance, over the course of five weeks, viewers will see people in uniform step up to represent their professions. Twenty-five different trades and professions will be represented in this way. For example, you might see a firefighter competing against a nurse (participants will be required to wear their work uniforms while playing)." *Ultimatum* is also putting out a call to families interested in participating in the quiz. "For five weeks, we will witness a 'battle of the generations' featuring twenty-five different families.""

Fails WP:NCORP, could not find reliable secondary sources about the company, thus failing WP:ORGTRIV. Sources in the article are reprints of corporate expansion announcements and Guinness World Records entries which "should not be used to establish notability" (per WP:GWR). The one potential piece of coverage would be the Global Gaming Awards, but I am unable to find evidence this is a notable award receiving secondary coverage outside of the awarding body and those reprinting its announcements.
Aside: based on the edit history and talk page, I'm guessing this is not a coherent company with a 32-year history as the article describes, but an IP that's been passed between owners. ~ A412 talk! 19:35, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

- This comment got me to look deeper, and there's a decent amount of coverage over the years; I think this is actually fairly significant within the online gambling industry. What I'm struggling with is that mainstream publications don't really write about online gambling, so it's all very low-quality sourcing. ~ A412 talk! 18:48, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

In searching newspapers.com, JSTOR, and GBooks, I found a ton of name-drops and advertisements, but not a single scrap of WP:SIGCOV. The game clearly exists, to the point that I've heard of it before finding this article, but I am genuinely at a dead end on finding even the barest minimum of sourcing.
The article has been nothing but a how-to guide cited to unreliable fansites, and has been in CAT:NN since 2014. I should also note that the article was improperly titled until last week, showing a lack of interest in the topic. Given the game's purported long history, I'm sure there must be something out there that I'm missing, but so far it's not looking promising. - Comment: a ProQuest search for "Pokeno" limited to dates 1930-1950 yields about 2000 hits. Some of these include information about Pokeno clubs, raids on Pokeno and poker gambling, pokeno-bingo parties, and various others. Note that these are based on the titles of the articles, as I do not have access to them; someone will need to verify if they have value as reliable sources. Mindmatrix 15:09, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
