Glossary of terms related to the user interface!
skin
The skin is the overall layout of a page. There are a few different skins (you can find them in Special:Preferences). The default skin is [Vector]. The previous default skin was [Monobook].
WikiEditor
This is the "new" (default) edit toolbar, called the 'enhanced editing toolbar' in the user preferences. mw:Extension:WikiEditor
old ("classic") toolbar
This was the default editing toolbar from 20XX to 20XX.

edittools
The name comes from the MediaWiki message name: MediaWiki:Edittools. It's blank by default, but wikis often customize it using the CharInsert extension.
