Wikipedia:Meetup/Minnesota/Wiknic July 2025

We will be picnicking on the morning/afternoon of Saturday, July 19, 2025 on the lawn of the Minnesota State Capitol. This is your chance to connect with other Wikipedia editors and Wikimedia enthusiasts and maybe have a little potato salad. We will be picnicking in the shade near the Minnesota Woman Suffrage Memorial southeast of the Capitol, so bring a picnic blanket, lawn chairs and a hot dish for the picnic if you like! We'll also be providing sandwiches for everyone but we encourage you to bring your own favorite dishes to share (no alcohol).

At 11:00 am Joe Hoover (aka: Myotus) will lead a Gossipy History Tour of the Minnesota State Capitol building. Just how catty could the State Capitol architect Cass Gilbert be? And what was the family tree behind the Board of State Capitol Commissioners' organizational chart?
Public parking on the MN State Capitol complex is enforced Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Metered parking costs $2.00 per hour. There is also an all-day rate of $8.00 available. Payment can be made via credit/debit cards, cash ($1 and $5 bills), or coins at parking pay stations.
In case of rain or mass civil uprising and protest, the Wiknic will be rescheduled to Saturday August 2, 2025.
