Getting there

Vacation Isle, San Diego is located within the center of Mission Bay, northwest of SeaWorld San Diego and south of Pacific Beach, San Diego. Carpooling is recommended. Public transit is possible, however not advised, as the nearest bus stop is 0.4 miles (0.64 km) away, and the route serving the stop has its final run around 9:00PM/2100.

Night time activities

Beginning at sunset, we will have a bonfire (this year the bronies will not be joining us). For those planning to stay for the bonfire, we kindly request that you please bring some combustible materials for the evening bonfire. Locally purchased (for example, grocery store chain) firewood is acceptable.

In addition, SeaWorld San Diego will be launching fireworks a drone show on the evening of August 1, which will be visible from the site of the event.

The following day

If you're staying in the area overnight, please join us for a edit-a-thon/salon at the Chula Vista Public Library Civic Center Branch.

• Vid2vid - Peter here and I'm excited and likely going esp after 530ish so ie might be a little late. Quick Qs.
  (1) I can bring cornhole, bocce, SkipBo, disc golf, and (or)? .. maybe croquet! Cool?

  (3)Also btw SeaWorld likely will be doing a drone show and not fireworks; do you plan to research SeaWorld website for final word on that?
  (4)@RightCowLeftCoast: .. Any plans to broadcast future edit a Thons live like on YouTube or Zoom or Twitch or Facebook Live?

  • @Vid2vid:Yes, you may bring lawn games.
    I was unaware that SeaWorld switched to a drone show
    I don't have a great camera microphone sent up to live stream events.
    I have seen other event organizers using an event system within meta, that includes an ics file, however I have not familiarized myself on how to do that. If you know of a tutorial to teach me, that would be helpful.--RightCowLeftCoast (Moo) 15:38, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

Just moved to SD and excited to meet fellow Wikis at a fun event. I am a multi-instrumentalist musician have played in rock and roll bands and solo for over 50 yrs and would be delighted to play a short set or sing along on guitar if helpful for this of a future event.
