A few logistical notes from the hosts:

1) Enter through 55 Hawthorne St, around the corner.

2) I'll have someone stationed there to escort you upstairs, as we need a pass to make the elevators work. Someone will be around from 2:45pm to 3:15pm.

3) Outside that timeslot, phone me (Skud) on 415 992 2547 if you need to be let in.

Suggestions

PLEASE. If you have a suggestion for a possible location (even if it isn't in San Francisco city), please leave them here.

Metaweb, who run Freebase (which uses Wikipedia heavily), may be able to offer space. It's near BART/MUNI/Caltrain and is probably available on a Saturday. I'm looking into it with the folks at the office. There was some discussion about this on the Wikimedia-SF mailing list and people seemed positive overall. --Skud (talk) 17:58, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

• Finally! A meetup!! A good time was had by all (I hope). The Freebase crew was very nice and accommodating. They gave us a short presentation about What Freebase is and a longer presentation about some of the details. It went on for a good while because people kept asking questions. Personally I enjoyed it as we do Wiki(m|p)edia stuff every day, and it is nice to see what others in the community are up to. We've already got a date and a location for Meetup #8.
