Saying, in effect, "my country is better than all your countries" is inappropriate and off-topic for a userbox for a collaborative encyclopedia. See also: WP:POLEMIC Cremastra (uc) 23:26, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

  • Keep Users are given wide latitude in what they put on their own pages. You may not agree with my opinion, but policing user space is a pretty lame and unproductive way to spend wikitime. Usually this kind of nomination targets editors who are retired and can't fight back. Since User:Rogerd is an active user, and an admin to boot, I'm quite interested in their input. • Keep Wow. I never thought I would see the day when they would try to police harmless userboxes in user space. I have every right to express my opinion in my user space. --rogerd (talk) 23:56, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
Increasingly, there are things folks don't want us to say in our own userspace. There have been a large number of such challengers over the last couple of years. One of the worst got banned from MfD for making a habit of it. I'm so glad I volunteer for the world's greatest online encyclopedia (whose editors are completely faceless and opinion-less without exception). BusterD (talk) 00:10, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
  • Keep - If the nominator says that American exceptionalism means that the United States is better than other countries, I respectfully disagree, because the phrase has various meanings, one of which is that the United States is better than other countries. It means that the United States is different from other countries. How it differs from them depends on the person using the expression. That is one of the reasons why the userbox is well within the latitude given to users. If you think that the United States is the same as other countries, you are welcome to ignore the userbox.
