Retarget to Lèse-majesté? Thepharoah17 (talk) 22:04, 31 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Retarget per nom as other countries with presidents can have such laws, as described in that article. Surprisingly, Insulting the king doesn't exist, but Insulting majesty does and does redirect to Lèse-majesté (as is infamous with Thailand having such laws, for example). Fork99 (talk) 00:07, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
Also surprisingly, Insulting royalty doesn't exist. Fork99 (talk) 01:39, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
  • Retarget per above. I almost want to say delete, but I suppose this is a viable search term for the topic. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 15:36, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
I suppose the redirect doesn't actually explicitly correlate with potential consequences of "insulting the president", especially in the context of jurisdictions without lèse-majesté. Although, I suppose that this would probably be an unlikely search term in the context of if someone insulted a head of state in a jurisdiction without lèse-majesté, it'd basically be the same as insulting anyone else. The general concept article Insult isn't really a suitable target compared to Lèse-majesté. Fork99 (talk) 12:54, 4 September 2026 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was delete. Rusalkii (talk) 08:01, 8 September 2026 (UTC)

german, from "takt" (time, as in musical time) and "messer" (counter, measurer, etc.). seems to be a niche synonym for the term in german (where the more common term is "metronom"), which doesn't paint it as very plausible in a different language wiki

Time location

Previous RfDs for this redirect and similar redirects:

like the previous rfd, but a fucked up evil version of it where i'll instead suggest deleting as vague per differing definitions of both words in the oddly specific context of this term (with results being primarily mid-sentence, referring to "real-time location sharing" or the time, location, and additional traits of assorted stuff) consarn (talk beige) (count ribs) 19:55, 31 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete per nom. Two distinct words not used together. I don't understand the argument from the previous RfD. As an ATD, I would prefer Time zone, also suggested at the previous RfD. Jay 09:08, 8 September 2026 (UTC)

Point in time

vague. can refer to an instant (that is, the smallest possible "point"), but also to any larger point that one could argue is still a point (so probably anything under all of time). i'm a little torn between suggesting deleting or retargeting to unit of time or wikt:point in time, but referring to only one definition ain't it consarn (talk beige) (count ribs) 19:45, 31 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete per nom as vague. Unit of time is not a good target, and would oppose wikt as all incoming links are from technical articles, and the wikt entry is for a non-technical usage. Jay 09:17, 8 September 2026 (UTC)

Sydney bus route 380

Not mentioned at target, State Transit Authority (original operator) or Transdev John Holland (current operator), but is briefly mentioned in a collapsed table at Sydney metropolitan bus service contracts#Region 9. This is the current timetable ().
Also note that Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sydney bus route 52 was deleted, despite a mention at Sydney metropolitan bus service contracts#Region 7. This article doesn't seem to keep historic route number information (seemingly only current routes) so if this route was ever renumbered, retired or similar in the future, the article might no longer mention it. Fork99 (talk) 00:52, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Sydney bus route 380 is also an {{R from merge}}, but the mention seems to have been removed sometime between 2009 and now. Fork99 (talk) 00:55, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Leonardo hotel

All Jurys Inn hotels were rebranded in the early 2020s to Leonardo Hotels, a pre-existing brand that does not have a Wikipedia article. I am RedoStone (talk) 17:35, 23 August 2026 (UTC)

So are you suggesting moving Jurys Inn --> Leonardo hotel and do the redirection the other way around? Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 18:39, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
No - I said Leonardo Hotels is a pre-existing brand I am RedoStone (talk) 19:02, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
So then Leonardo Hotel will be a dead page? Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 19:57, 24 August 2026 (UTC)
So seemingly Leonardo is now the parent company of what was Jurys Inn? The article also states Leonardo Hotels Group is a subsidiary of Fattal Hotels/Fattal Hotel Group, "which operates more than 160 hotels in 16 countries". Interesting that the parent topics don't have articles, are they not notable? If they are notable, then article(s) be written on those, and either Jurys Inn should be kept and/or merged, but that's a separate discussion entirely. Leonardo hotel should then be retargeted to whatever the name of the relevant article on that topic is. For the purposes of a possible WP:MOVE, this doesn't appear to be a WP:NAMECHANGE because it appears to be a company acquisition. Fork99 (talk) 00:00, 25 August 2026 (UTC)

hi. i was fascinated by this conversation, so I did a little investigation. From what I understand Fork99 is saying that Leonardo existed well before the Jury's Inn acquisition, with Jury's Inn later becoming part of the Leonardo/Fattal group and eventually rebranded as Leonardo. So I wonder if the current redirect from "Leonardo hotel" to "Jurys Inn" gives the relationship to a reader backwards. Also I noticed that both Leonardo and Fattal Hotels have articles on German Wikipedia, and the English Wikipedia does have articles on several individual Leonardo Hotels. It is also not uncommon to have an article on major hotel groups in English Wikipedia. Since there seems to be independent coverage of both Leonardo and Fattal Hotel groups, maybe we can look at whether one of the broader subjects (Fattal or Leonardo) meets the English Wikipedia's notability requirements and create its own article. if it does, maybe that would help solve this redirect question. Myhappyplaceatbjnb (talk) 15:33, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
In theory we could do the redirection the other way. Jurys Inn to Leonardo. Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 19:23, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
@Tyw7, I think something similar came up earlier in the discussion, and @I am RedoStone responded that Leonardo Hotels was already a pre-existing brand. So unless, I am misunderstanding (which is very possible) wouldn't redirecting it the other way bring us back to the same problem, which is that there is no English Wikipedia page on the broader Leonardo hotels group for Jurys Inn to be redirected to. Myhappyplaceatbjnb (talk) 00:00, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
I guess a solution could be a very stubby article explaining the scenarios? Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 19:00, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
@Tyw7 That seems the most logical solution to me. I think there is enough independent sources and history surrounding Leonoardo Hotels to support a standalone article even a small one. It would also give the redirect an obvious target. Myhappyplaceatbjnb (talk) 00:49, 2 September 2026 (UTC)
@Myhappyplaceatbjnb: Or just leave the Jury inn one so there's two interlinked articles. Tyw7 (🗣️ Talk) — If (reply) then (ping me) 09:06, 2 September 2026 (UTC)

Blue Chew

Blue Chew is a brand of sildenafil, and the term currently redirects there; but the phrase "blue chew" doesn't appear anywhere in the article. I tried adding it as a trade name in the infobox, but that change was reverted with no rationale. I don't think Blue Chew is notable enough to get its own article, but it should at least be mentioned somewhere on the target page. Minterpunct (talk) 13:55, 31 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete. BlueChew (not Blue Chew, though a reasonable misspelling) is not a brand of sildenafil, but a telehealth/direct to consumer company offering several different drugs, making Sildenafil a poor target and the rv correct. Could possibly be retargeted to Erectile dysfunction#Medications, as at least the three drugs are discussed there, but it's not great.BrechtBro (talk) 17:03, 31 August 2026 (UTC)

Will Dunn

There are multiple people with this name including a writer and a sportsman, but none with articles. The William Dunn disambig doesn't consider "Will", so that won't be a suitable alternate target. Delete to favour search results.

This was an article though, for 10 days in 2011, before being BLAR'ed. We don't have a page with bios of Harry Potter cast members, so I don't see where the pre-BLAR content can be reused. Jay 13:44, 31 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Weak retarget to dab: "Will" isn't explicitly listed at the William page, but it's such a standard nickname that I expect some subset of them are referred to that way sometimes, and the page has "Willie" and similar variants. I was able to find a couple William "Will" Dunns with a quick search, though none notable. No strong objections to deletion, though. Rusalkii (talk) 18:56, 8 September 2026 (UTC)

This exists as a remnant of a regular rename a while ago followed by a recent successful vanish resulting in a global lock. Retargeting to the current name seems plausible, so I won't G6 or G8 this, but my understanding is that the vanishing process is intended to afford a level of privacy to the user, so this should probably be deleted in that spirit. Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine

Two different concepts AINH (talk) 14:18, 22 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Question: Aside from the First Deputy Prime Minister, what's the other concept? I'll note that the list of deputy prime ministers at Deputy prime minister lists the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, but the text of that article also says "the structure of the Government of Russia and Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine provides for several deputy prime ministers or vice prime ministers." A potential option could be to retarget to Government of Ukraine, which is the current target for Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Notecardforfree (talk) 18:12, 22 August 2026 (UTC)

Delete: This is a classic "sum of parts"; there is no part of Tokyo actually referred to as "downtown Tokyo", so the "downtown" is an adjective meaning "central". So a redirect is misleading. Similarly, central Tokyo is a redirect to something else (the 23 ku), a page which only includes the word "central" to refer to Ikebukuro as being in "north central Tokyo"; another misleading redirect. These redirects are obviously well intentioned, but not actually helping. I can't be bothered to check if "modern-day Tokyo" or "Tokyo, Japan", or "Tokyo, capital of Japan" redirects to Tokyo, but perhaps you get the point. High School

This redirect is title case. Because of this, it could also technically target High School (disambiguation), which includes media with the title "High School" in title case. SHSR TC 03:38, 28 July 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep. The WP:RPRIMARY argument to keep the redirect targeting where it currently targets is definitely stronger than the WP:SMALLDETAILS argument in this case. Steel1943 (talk) 08:43, 29 July 2026 (UTC)
  • Oppose redirecting to High School (disambiguation), as this would make the latter malplaced. If you think that the term "High School" has no primary topic, you should propose moving the disambiguation page to "High School". jlwoodwa (talk) 19:23, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
Agree. There are about 10 articles that could be titled "High School". The dab page should be moved to High School, but a move proposal would be the way to do that. Station1 (talk) 17:24, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
So, you're essentially neutral because per WP:MALPLACED, such a move would occur by default if the redirect were to be retargeted to High School (disambiguation)? Asking because of the bold part of your vote might seem misleading if someone doesn't read your entire vote. Steel1943 (talk) 12:24, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Move per WP:DIFFCAPS. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:10, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep. I agree with Steel, the primary topic argument here is much stronger than the DIFFCAPS/SMALLDETAILS argument. A common occurrence of "High School" is in the proper name of individual high schools. This redirect is linked in 336 articles. I looked at the first 20 instances and every single one referred to secondary school. Many should not have been capitalized or should not have been linked, while some were appropriate or were borderline cases. For example, it is sometimes liked as part of a proper name, as in Bronson Alcott High School at Clueless. In other cases of appropriate or borderline use, it appears in tables or headings where title case is used. Some of these should be cleaned up for other reasons but the choice of redirect target is appropriate. WikiNav shows that Secondary school is the #1 source of views to High School (disambiguation) but the top two destinations are High school (North America) and Secondary school, followed distantly by High School (2010 film) and High School (American TV series). Overall, usage by editors and readers appears to most often refer to secondary schools and not titles of works or other proper names. —Myceteae🍄‍🟫 (talk) 22:30, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
  • Move per WP:DIFFCAPS. High School (disambiguation) needs to be moved here; there is no primary topic for the title case version. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 17:31, 9 August 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep - Primary topic, despite the capitalization differences. Likely miscapitalized in regard to the topic of the current target much more than other potential uses as well.  Godsy (TALKCONT) 10:55, 17 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep; DIFFCAPS only applies when the capitals indicate a significant difference, and "High school" and "High School" are not substantially different. Nyttend (talk) 22:30, 1 September 2026 (UTC)

Relisted, see Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2026 September 7#Sanctus Espiritus

Silkies

Plural mismatch with singular form of the word Silkie leading to a full article that also has a disambiguation hatnote Silkie (disambiguation). The disambiguation has no path leading to Brownie (folklore) (where Brownie (folklore)#Silkie exists) and instead leads to Selkie, a different mythological creature entirely --Randomologist2000 (talk) 02:16, 23 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Comment I proposed a move of the chicken article. So I believe it should redirect to the DAB page, but it will have to wait until the move discussion is finished. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 05:22, 23 August 2026 (UTC)

Key Quest

Not mentioned at target. For the first one, other uses exist: Key Quest (Adventure Time) is a redirect to an episode list, and 1983 game by this name is listed at Tutankham#Clones and List of VIC-20 games (though List of maze video games spells it as "Key-Quest"). The unspaced spelling should presumably just be deleted. 1234qwer1234qwer4 03:37, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

  • delete per nom with no prejudice on making redirects the other franchises' articles. --Lenticel (talk) 07:31, 13 August 2026 (UTC)
  • I just notified of this discussion at the target. Jay 07:17, 16 August 2026 (UTC)
I had already done the same for a few other of my Neopets nominations on the same day, so I believe anyone interested would have found this one. Maybe try notifying at the talk pages of the other articles mentioned in the nomination. 1234qwer1234qwer4 10:59, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
  • I'm leaning towards disambiguate, although I'm not that thrilled about it because all the uses are minor. Key Quest (Adventure Time) implies the existence of Key Quest, but I don't like the idea of retargeting directly to the Adventure Time use because my searches were dominated by Neopets and then the 1983 game. I've drafted one below the Key Quest redirect. -- Tavix (talk) 15:59, 21 August 2026 (UTC)

QT-prolonging drug

These should have the same target; it's unclear why User:Spencer arbitrarily changed the target of QT-prolonging drug but not any other similar redirects. Mathguy2718 (talk) 02:35, 23 August 2026 (UTC)

  • Comment: I don't think I realized back in 2022 that there were other redirects. IMO Drug-induced QT prolongation would be the most appropriate and specific redirect target for each of these. Best, SpencerT•C 18:41, 24 August 2026 (UTC)
  • I think {{R avoided double redirect}} is criminally underused, considering the creator of all of these redirects is the same editor. Fork99 (talk) 11:32, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
