This is not a useful redirect. The target, polyethylene glycol cetyl ether has an unspecified chemical composition ("poly" here just means "many", not a specific amount), so there are multitudes of different chemical formulas that could be encompassed by the chemical name. User:TheTechie it can be done but is usually not advised, especially for pages that have been around for a long time. The utility of hastening deletion by a small amount is effectively none. However, there is value in creating a clear affirmative consensus for deletion. Also, while not applicable to this case, when options other than deletion have been supported, the deletion is controversial so CSD with some exceptions, for example G8 or G12, are not going to be applicable. ~2025-31245-28 (talk) 02:28, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

This could also be plausibly used to refer to Pikmin, as that also shares the letters P, K, M and N in that specific order. As such, this causes confusion between two entirely different Nintendo franchises.

  • don't delete per the above rationales (really, those are just incorrect), but also weak don't just keep per them? this is a really weird way and/or bad time to say what amounts to "haha eveyone rong i'm win", but as far as results among reliable sources care, the abbreviation is wrestling with an architecture company thingy (you couldn't have me guess what they actually do with a gun to my head) and math operations, so the case isn't as clear-cut as it would initially seem
...is what i would say, but i'm also lying here (or rather, hiding the truth). the company is extremely unnotable, the math stuff is coincidental (pkmn), and if it still somehow needs saying, there were extremely few mentions of pikmin (~8k results not related to pokémon or the joking question of which it's an acronym of to ~9m results that don't mention it). it's only at the idea of finding a source to add the abbreviation to the main article that i came up kind of short, as while a few mentions exist, they're either in passing, in tags, or not actually visible due to nintendo (yes, it's a nintendo problem this time) being party poopers when it comes to copyright. it still doesn't change the fact that the abbreviation is widely used in general to just write less stuff to save text space or finger juice, not least because pokémon's done it since the start

  • Delete. This apparently minor character is briefly mentioned in two movie/show articles, Rebirth of Mothra and Godzilla Island, as well as Mothra. None of these articles have much information and it's not clear that it would be appropriate to significantly expand coverage. Targeting any one of these, with or without expanded content at the target, is arbitrary and actually obscures search results which reveal the (very limited) full breadth of coverage on en-wiki. —Myceteae‍🍄‍🟫 (talk) 04:20, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

Delete all as misleading. This is a sensational and unscientific term that has been used in the media, on South Park, and even (rather controversially) by the occasional medical professional. It has no scientific definition and there is, appropriately, no discussion in the article. A 2013 AfD did close as 'redirect' to the current target. I strenuously disagree with the reasoning there. Anyone searching this term either believes it is valid—in which case the redirect inappropriately confirms that belief—or is looking for a discussion of the sensational term itself. Note that the concept of HIV superinfection is distinct from "Super AIDS". I tried bundling Super Aids but this page is protected; it should be deleted, too. —Myceteae‍🍄‍🟫 (talk) 01:53, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

Comment This appears to be a reference to The Death of Eric Cartman, the South Park episode @Myceteae was (implicitly) talking about. I would say "redirect to The Death of Eric Cartman", but the article doesn't appear to mention Super AIDS by name. That, or the 2005 case where the phrase was used to describe an individual with a highly resistant strain. That usage was highly criticized. That is the subject of the link I posted and it continues to be mentioned, for example in this news piece from 2022. And it is occasionally used jokingly or misguidedly to refer to severe cases or highly resistant strains. I think the 2005 incident and the controversy surrounding the term is the likeliest primary topic but I'm not convinced there is one and, regardless, I can find no coverage of this or the South Park usage on en-wiki. —Myceteae‍🍄‍🟫 (talk) 02:27, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

    I see. It was bundled by an admin so I assumed it had been unprotected. I think admins can delete protected pages. I see now that you requested there {{rfd}} tag—thank you for doing that. Regardless of the protection level, I see no reason not to discuss Super Aids with the rest of the group. If there is something unique about that particular capitalization that would warrant a different fate for this redirect, that should be raised in this discussion. Per edit history, Super Aids was protected as a redirect to AIDS in 2006 due to frequent re-creation as a vandalism. Since the "Super AIDS" controversy has largely faded from memory, there is not nearly as much activity with any of these redirects as there once was.
