- Herbal wineHerbal wine → Wine (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Versus, for example, grape wine, honey wine, or mulled wine. Do we adequately cover this topic anywhere? Dosoju and sioktong are Korean and Chinese herbal wines respectively; a more general overview has been evasive thus far. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 03:42, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
- Retarget to Aromatised wine, which I believe is the same thing. I checked some wine dictionaries, but they do not contain an entry for "herbal wine", and it's not a term used in the "aromatised wine" article. Regardless, an internet search indicates that the term is used to refer to wines flavoured with herbs. Ligaturama (talk) 07:24, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Ligaturama: That is a wonderful find! I was not aware that existed. I am not quite sure though. It is my understanding (from reading) that to be a 'true' herbal wine, the herbs have to be fermented along with the other fruit. Vermouth, for example, would therefore be an 'amortized fortified wine' (and not a herbal wine). Some of the content at the suggested target seems to be describing fortified wine. However, I could be incorrect. We also do not seem to cover medicinal winemedicinal wine on its own at length either. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 06:10, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
- From that definition it would seem that a herbal wine is a type of aromatised wine: if an aromatised wine is "a wine flavoured with herbs", then even if a herbal wine must be fermented with the fruit, it would still fit that definition. I don't think retargeting would suggest that all aromatised wines are herbal wines.
- If you think that herbal wines are legitimately their own separate thing which could justify their own article then the alternative would be deleting the redirect per WP:RETURNTORED. I'd favour the retarget approach because it does still seem to me that herbal wines are aromatised wines. Ligaturama (talk) 08:56, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
- This is what I was able to find and alluded to earlier. It is not free, but I have a pdf so I will post the excerpts:
3.10. Aromatised Wine [—] Aromatised wine is fortified wine containing alcohol ranging from 14.5-22 per cent by volume, is obtained from wine products to which ethyl alcohol is added and which has been flavoured with natural flavouring substances and/or aromatic herbs and/or spices. The main categories of aromatised wines are: Vermouth ... Sweet vermouth ... Dry Vermouth ... Bitter aromatized wine[.]
[1]3.11. Other Wines ... Herbal wine is made by fermenting parts of herbal plants or by adding them as an additional substrate to conventional fruits. Aloe vera wine, sea buckthorn wine, aloe-mint wine, adean berry are a few examples of herbal wines.

- Retarget to National Geographic Kids. Based on everything I can find, this appears to be the Dutch equivalent of National Geographic Kids, however there is no mention of the Netherlands nor of the Kids title at nl:National Geographic Junior despite being interwiki linked with each other. pl:National Geographic Kids does explicitly connect the titles, but the mention of Junior is not sourced. I can't find any connection to News Corporation's cable channels, so keeping is definitely wrong. I think the ideal situation would be to add a mention of the Dutch title to the target, but even without that it's a plausible misremembering of the title. Thryduulf (talk) 12:37, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
- There's no connection to any of News Corporation's cable channels, just I feel that that editor merely wanted to "score brownie points" with creating really unneeded redirects like this or maybe deceive readers and/or editors that something is/was created for this, when in fact it's not. When you have time post-reading this reply, have a look at his/her contributions page; there you'll get the sense of what he's/she's trying to do and why I'm so eager to have each or all of them gone, however useful and/or legitimate! Intrisit (talk) 13:06, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- Comment on the content, not the contributor. We gain nothing by deleting a redirect in order ti just recreate it simply because we dislike what we presume the creator's motive is - especially 3 years after the creation and a year after their last edit. Nobody will be mislead by a retargetted redirect, anyone looking at the history will see the link to this discussion which explains everything. Thryduulf (talk) 16:45, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

- Salmon flySalmon fly → Artificial fly (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
I think we should discuss this redirect. Salmon fly currently redirects to Artificial fly, but Pteronarcys californica is also known as a salmon fly. What if anything should be done here? I'm totally new, apologize if this isn't right but I'm learning the ropes a bit. 781h (talk) 23:30, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
- Keep. Salmonfly redirects to Pteronarcys. I think the handling of "salmonfly" versus "salmon fly" can be in a hatnote on artificial fly. Charles Matthews (talk) 04:10, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- Refine to Artificial fly#Salmon flies, and hatnote per Charles Matthews. It seems the one word=fly species vs two words=artificial fly distinction is pretty consistent (while there do seem to be some instances of artificial salmon flies being written as one word (e.g. Parks' Salmonfly) those apparently specifically imitate Pteronarcys salmonflies as opposed to other flies that salmon might feed on). I know there has already been 2 RfDs about this redirect before, but I think this redirect should target Wiki, because if one types "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/wiki/", they should get taken to the article about wikis. I would also accept deleting, because I don't see the redirects with a hanging "/" often. However, it does get a surprising number of pageviews.
