This is unhelpful and defeats the purpose of a shortcut Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 13:22, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep. I don't see the problem here. "♠" is read as or understood to mean "spade". It's a bit whimsical and I acknowledge that most editors won't take the time to find the ♠ symbol when they could just type "SPADE" but that doesn't mean it's not useful to some. This gets an average of 9 views/month over the last 12 and 24 months. The target is unambiguous and corresponds to the sister redirect WP:SPADE. Deleting this will break incoming links and disadvantage the 100 or so editors who use this redirect each year. —Myceteae🍄‍🟫 (talk) 17:01, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

This redirect is tagged R from merge, but it is confusing because "XICS" is not mentioned at the target. Is it suitable for a retarget to Free Internet Chess Server ? Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:40, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Retarget per nom, with possible refinement to Free Internet Chess Server#Usage where XICS is mentioned. I haven't gone through the history, but if a merger actually occurred at some point, the {{Merged-from}} template should be completed and placed at Talk:Internet Chess Server. The {{R from merge}} template on the redirect should be completed with {{R from merge|Internet Chess Server}}. (And if there was no merger, {{R from merge}} should be removed.) If we have to preserve R from merge's for attribution, we should still be able to retarget them when content and coverage moves around in order to maintain their usefulness. —Myceteae🍄‍🟫 (talk) 18:11, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

Shouldn't it have the same target? Or at least hatnote each other. Abesca (talk) 03:09, 15 March 2026 (UTC)

One is a place, the other is a person. A disambiguation page might be in order, but in lieu of that, definitely hatnote each other. Lychniis (talk) 10:55, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
One is a place, the other is a person who isn't the wp:primarytopic for the namespace. Retarget so both point to the place with a hatnote disambiguating the alternative name for the guy.  LlywelynII 13:14, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
Isn't Land of Israel a better target for Biblical IsraelBiblical Israel? If it's ambiguous, Israel (disambiguation) would be the appropriate target for these. —Myceteae🍄‍🟫 (talk) 16:23, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Retarget both to Israel (disambiguation) Even if we presume the place is the primary topic, is the reader looking for a general article about the region? Or one about the polity referred to as the "kingdom of Israel"? And, of course, there is the off chance they are looking for an article about Jacob. Ultimately, there's too much ambiguity here for me to identify a primary topic, and this isn't a case where there are only two possible targets. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 17:50, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Retarget both to Israel (disambiguation) as {{r from incomplete disambiguation}}. Even in just a Biblical context this is very ambiguous. Could be the land, the kingdom, the name, or a metonym for the Israelites or people of Israel in general. All of these are linked at the proposed target. – Scyrme (talk) 18:55, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
There's also The Israel Bible, which dab should mention. Abesca (talk) 17:41, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

List of political parties in Calabria

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was move to draft. voorts (talk/contributions) 15:45, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

There is no list of political parties in Calabria at the target or (as far as I can find) anywhere on Wikipedia. Additionally, due to the lack of content on political parties at the target article, I renamed the section simply to Elections, and now the redirect goes to the top of the article. Redirect is misleading and unhelpful, I propose Delete. NerdyEpiscopalian (talk) 00:29, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

  • I'm seeing a lot of info about the parties. Why do you say it is unhelpful? Jay 💬 17:52, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
I think it's unhelpful exactly for the reason stated by Scyrme below: it does not list all the parties, only those who happen to have been elected in the most recent election, which excludes some active parties. That's not a true list of political parties in Calabria and shouldn't be treated as one. The section does not have specific info on political parties, just has it in the context of specific election results. NerdyEpiscopalian (talk) 13:37, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Draftify. The redirect was originally created as a redirect to the category Category:Political parties in Calabria, but this is not a list article and the category doesn't include every party active or in government in Calabria.
The section at Politics of Calabria lists only those parties which have been elected into government in the most recent election. It's not intended to a be a general list of parties which are active in Calabria, some of which have articles (see the category) but have not won a seat in the most recent election, so I oppose keeping the current target.
An article was drafted under the redirect very recently during this RfD by Checco. However, it cites no references. I suggest removing the redirect and moving it to draft space. Checco could then publish it when it's ready via AfC. – Scyrme (talk) 18:10, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
As the initial nominator, I support this proposal. Ultimately, an article would be the ideal outcome of this. NerdyEpiscopalian (talk) 13:45, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
