This is the Afrikaans and Silesian spelling of "Vladimir Lenin"; delete per WP:RLOTE; no affinity with either of these languages. 𝔅𝔦𝔰-𝔖𝔢𝔯𝔧𝔢𝔱𝔞? 21:11, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

Keep - it's also the German spelling (among a few others), and the cult of Lenin was significant enough in East Germany that I think there's a nontrivial chance that English readers could come across this spelling. signed, Rosguill talk 21:24, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
Ah, I wasn't aware of that; I pressed ctrl + f and searched "Wladimir Lenin" on Lenin's Wikidata entry (which contains all the foreign language variants of his name) and I only saw those two languages; had I just typed "Wladimir" I would have also seen the German entry there which was his full name. I'll wait for other users to opine whether the East German cult of personality was significant enough to justify this redirect; Lenin's time in Germany may also be of relevance here. 𝔅𝔦𝔰-𝔖𝔢𝔯𝔧𝔢𝔱𝔞? 21:31, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
Keep - It's a useful direct and it's a spelling for Lenin in multiple languages. It would be most helpful to readers who search his name in this spelling to be directed to Vladimir Lenin main page. WP:RFOR isn't official site policy - which means, as editors, we can use that as a vague guideline but we are also free to make up our minds ourselves. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 21:37, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

Agree - Delete because it's not a common or significant misspelling that warrants an entire redirect page of its own. Readers who search the term would likely come across Joseph Stalin anyway. Easy grounds for deletion. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 22:58, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

Not mentioned in article, this is the Chinese transliteration for Stalin's name; delete per WP:RLOTE. 𝔅𝔦𝔰-𝔖𝔢𝔯𝔧𝔢𝔱𝔞? 21:06, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete. No affinity. The previous RfD brought up the Sino-Soviet split, in which destalinisation was a point of contention, but that is just an intersection between the topic of Stalin and the topic of China. Just because China is relevant to a topic doesn't mean that the affinity between China and the Chinese-language also extends to that topic too. The topical intersection does not make it plausible that English-language authors would use the Chinese form of Stalin's name as a loanword when referring to Stalin, or that English-speaking readers would search for Stalin by his Chinese name.
A search in Chinese is much more likely to be either an attempt to navigate Wikipedia in Chinese or a search for a Chinese-language article. The former is something Wikipedia does not intend to support and which exceeds the purpose of redirects. The latter is something the English-language Wikipedia does not have and so cannot redirect to. It could also be an attempt to use Wikipedia's search bar to translate, similar to how you can get Google to offer a translation via a search, but this is also something which Wikipedia does not intend to support and which exceeds the purpose of redirects. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a translator. – Scyrme (talk) 22:02, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
@Scyrme actually, yeah, was the idea of inter-language search suggestions (i.e. pointing people looking for this to zh:斯大林) discussed sometime within the last 8 years? it seems like it'd be useful alongside wiktionary and wikiquote for people who somehow got in the wrong wikipedia consarn (talk beige) (count ribs) 14:49, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
I'd be surprised if it hasn't been discussed, but if it hasn't it should be (maybe over on WP:VPI?). The main practical issue that comes to my mind is that there can be matches across multiple different languages and presenting all of them may be overwhelming, so it wouldn't be straightforward to implement. One idea could be to instead integrate a menu into the search box to select a language from a list, so that if a user selects a language other than English clicking on "search" will link to the search results page on that language's version of Wikipedia instead of the results on ~enwiki. – Scyrme (talk) 15:29, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep, remains helpful due to high use. J947edits 23:33, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete per WP:RFOREIGN. With this basis, there won't be any English speakers who would regularly use that Chinese name to get redirected to the English language Joseph Stalin article, and, as a result, it would be useless to have a redirect page for that. Chinese language searchers can be redirect to the Chinese version of the Stalin article - I think that page exists, right? Delete, in any case. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 03:58, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

A Wikipedia which many Chinese speakers frequent. J947edits 11:20, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
that says nothing. assuming for one second that brazil actually exists, many (however many "many" is) brazilian portuguese speakers frequent this wikipedia as well, but that doesn't mean alemães would be a good redirect to germans without first proving affinity... which is a really funny thing to say when said affinity is more concretely proven in that article than stalin's shenanigans with china, and it's comparatively "just" too weak to warrant that redirect
in this case, deletion will serve people who search on or link to the english wikipedia better, as it'll then either direct them to search results (in this case, the main one would be wiktionary) or let them know that they're in the wrong wikipedia consarn (talk beige) (count ribs) 14:42, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
Somehow I think the readers intending zhwiki will realise they're on the wrong Wikipedia when everything's in English, not Mandarin. But if they are actually intending to reach zhwiki, it's actually significantly more helpful to direct them to Joseph Stalin than search results. There's an interwiki link at the target or they could change the URL subdomain, and return to zhwiki far quicker than if they're directed to search results. Thankfully changing the URL subdomain from "en" to "zh" works since Chinese Wikipedia helpfully has a redirect from "Joseph Stalin". Directing readers intending Chinese Wikipedia to English Wiktionary couldn't possibly help them. J947edits 22:28, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

Highly unlikely miscapitalisations; why would anyone capitalise "Of" but not "Israel"? Delete. 𝔅𝔦𝔰-𝔖𝔢𝔯𝔧𝔢𝔱𝔞? 20:44, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

Delete - Implausible capitalisation. The traffic in the years since it was created has been the sort of negligible traffic redirects pick up just by existing. Deleting is unlikely to impact navigation negatively, as even if someone did the implausible thing and try entering this into the search bar they'd still end up at the right article via state of israel. (You can verify this by trying another implausible capitalisation with no redirect like StAte oF IsraEl. If you copy that title into the search it will redirect via state of israel.) – Scyrme (talk) 21:20, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
Delete per Scyrme. I agree with his reasoning. The capitalization is unlikely and does not warrant its own redirect page. The other issue is the "State Of" part of the matter - those two words are entirely negligible, as almost nobody consistently refers to all nation-states as "state of this" or "state of that". Even if they do, they'll just end up at Israel's article page. No reason for this to exist. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 23:01, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
The "State of Israel" is the official title of Israel, so in this case there's no problem with "State of". – Scyrme (talk) 23:07, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
But is it reasonable to assume people commonly search for "State of Israel"? It seems like a totally useless redirect page to me. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 00:58, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
It is reasonable, as Israel could also refer to a concept, a nation, a region, a historical kingdom, a name, etc. That's why Israel (disambiguation) exists; "State of Israel" is a standard Template:R from unnecessary disambiguation.

Non-neutral redirects which are not mentioned nor claimed in the target article. It's also vague since hatred and ethnic hatred are not synonymous; one could argue (even from a Jewish perspective) that Satan's fall from Paradise arose from his hatred of God, and thereby he had "the oldest hatred"; delete per WP:UNNATURAL. 𝔅𝔦𝔰-𝔖𝔢𝔯𝔧𝔢𝔱𝔞? 20:39, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

Delete - I don't think the claims relating to Satan in Jewish exegesis are correct (and Satan#Judaism would generally agree), but my understanding is that asserting that antisemitism is "the oldest hatred" is something of a WP:FRINGE view, invoked polemically in works like this but not something that we say in the article nor something that we should endorse via a redirect. While one could defend it with WP:RNEUTRAL, given that virtually no source ever tries to discuss antisemitism purely by referring to it as "the oldest hatred" without further clarification, the odds of this being a useful navigation term seem low. signed, Rosguill talk 21:30, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
Delete per Rosguill. As WP:RNEUTRAL notes, some leniency for non-neutral titles is permissible in redirects because they're less visible to readers. However, this lack of visibility is negated by the plausible ambiguity of these titles. One could argue, for example, that misogyny, the hatred of women, is older. (eg. Misogyny: The World's Oldest Prejudice) If not deleted, a better target would be History of antisemitism where the expression "the longest hatred" is mentioned. – Scyrme (talk) 22:50, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
Delete per the above two users. WP:RNEUTRAL is the most important consideration here and I agree that this should not be kept. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 23:05, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep. I recently wrote an essay about antisemitism and kept wanting to write "antiSemitism" instead of "antisemitism" or "anti-Semitism". It's not an unreasonable search term. J947edits 22:08, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete, even if, as is claimed immediately above, it's a reasonable search term (it's not really; normal English words never use camel case), the search feature already automatically redirects to mere casing differences. It's not useful as a linking aid, and we should strongly avoid having redirects that differ only in casing unless there's some special reason to keep them, because they tend to get out of sync and incur a general maintenance burden. It's not all that uncommon to see listings here with this or other sorts of such subtle differences that point to different targets, and a discussion is needed to decide on which to use. Deacon Vorbis (carbon  videos) 22:59, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep - It's a totally reasonable search term and easily can be perceived as one of the multiple variants of the term, like J947 pointed out. It's perfectly appropriate for it to redirect to the main Antisemitism article. For educational purposes too, it's best to have the search terms expanded for redirection to the main page. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 23:35, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
Type CaMeLcAsE into the search bar. Notice how you're automatically taken to the article at Camel case even though CaMeLcAsE doesn't exist. This is because CamelcaseCamelcase already redirects there, and searches will match casing differences automatically. Deacon Vorbis (carbon  videos) 00:39, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
That is true; however, WP:redirects are cheap, and whether this one continues to exist is functionally inconsequential, and the capitalization is reasonable; so is there even a point in deleting it when it already exists? 9ninety (talk) 06:35, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete per WP:SMALLDIFF. Insofar as this is a reasonable search term, the redirect is not needed, as Wikipedia's search function will automatically correct it. But, the moment that someone writes a notable book (or other media) titled AntiSemite it denotes a separate topic. Nothing is to be gained from keeping, and there's a small chance we avoid future confusion. signed, Rosguill talk 00:12, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

Titles that mix Hebrew and non-Hebrew characters in an implausible manner. Most of these wedge a Hebrew character where there should be a Latin one, one is a bilingual title like those deleted at a past Devanagari-centric RfD, and one is a combo of two Hebrew names with an English conjunction. There are enough plausible titles (19 by my count, including 6 disambiguations, 4 for names of military ships with pennant numbers, 2 television seasons, 6 Hebrew names that contain embedded Latin, and ELעלALאל) that I am slightly against a general title blacklist for Hebrew + anything else, but I might support one for bizarre cases like the ones I've nominated in this RfD series. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:07, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

Delete. This seems to be a similar case to another recently-visited topic on this page. I will introduce WP:RFOREIGN here. On this basis, there likely won't be many English speakers who would regularly use the Hebrew or French names of these items or figures to get redirected to the English language articles, and, as a result, it would be useless to have redirect pages for these. Hebrew or French language searchers can be redirected to the respective versions of these articles - I assume at least for some of these articles, the other-language variant exists. Retarget - Far more logical for all of these links to be retargeted to the 2026 Asian Games main page. Articles like those are supposed to be detailed and lengthy, making any long descriptions of each nation's participation better off explaining under each one's respective subheading than taking up space having their own pages. Keep and tag per above. I don't see how this could be misleading. People looking for, say Daduhe Road station, will be typing the station name "Daduhe Road station" into the search bar, not the road the station is located at. S5A-0043🚎(Talk) 09:32, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

This is an unlikely typo of the English translation of his name (Sabbas). Saint Sabbas redirects to Sabbas, which is a DAB page. Delete or at the very least retarget to Sabbas.

As to why it's an unlikely typo, why would someone capitalise the 'A' if they meant to capitalise the 'S' and missed it? Saint abbas would be somewhat plausible, but not this. 𝔅𝔦𝔰-𝔖𝔢𝔯𝔧𝔢𝔱𝔞? 13:53, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

Delete - I don't think this a common misspelling of the Saint, therefore implying that it's an entirely different concept. Because of this, it wouldn't be appropriate for it to strictly redirect to Saint Sava. Now even if this is the case, a redirect to Sabbas would be best, but I lean towards deletion because of my prior stronger rationale. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 00:15, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

It's fine if this was Prez redirecting to President, but this is much more specific (which makes it unhelpful). It's not a nickname for him or synonym, literally just a shortening used to write stuff faster. 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he|talk to me, maybe? ) 02:26, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

Just because it's a common shorthand (also, it's not really) doesn't mean that anyone is liable to actually search for it like this. There are endless variations people might use, but we realistically shouldn't be making redirects for them. We need to trust that people are going to search for the simplest thing they can unless there's some reason to specifically include a longer form, but there's not here. This would conflict with a title of media that shared the name that would be more likely to search for this way. Deacon Vorbis (carbon  videos) 16:32, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

That's why I think it's implausible, if it otherwise had low page views (low enough to just be "background noise" so to say), then something must have happened in 2022 for a random spike; I can't say for certain but I guess someone linked it in a well-viewed article relating to France and a bunch of readers clicked on it; the link eventually got somehow removed and views went right back down to (on average) ~ 0. Keep Iran–Israel–United States war2026 Iran war as it's the primary topic. Agree & Support both points, including the second point. That is actually a good idea, Iran-Israel relations provides far greater coverage of the history of Iran and Israel since 1979, making me now question what the point of Iran-Israel conflict was. I didn't include this in my comment below until I just read yours. An AfD should definitely be in the cards. No evidence that this person is known as "Tasi Chen". As google suggests, this could potentially be a misspelling of "Tsai Chen"; this is not a plausible alternative spelling of "Cai Qian" (since "Qian" and "Chen" are different syllables in pinyin), but it is a partial title match of three notable people, namely Tsai Chen-nan, Tsai Chen-nan (businessman), and Tsai Chen-chou. This title was an article from 2006 to 2008, but it was merged into Kikyo in 2008; that article, in turn, was BLARed to List of Inuyasha characters in 2009, but the redirect was later retargeted to Kikyō in 2017 where it now points.

Previous RfDs for this redirect and similar redirects:

Following the recent discussion at AfD for the Iran–United States war page, what should happen with this redirect? Options include:

  • Keeping it as it is
  • Changing it to target another page
  • Turning it into a set index or disambiguation page (@LIrala has argued that this would not be ideal because there are already too many disambiguation pages duplicating the topic)
  • Moving the United States strikes on Iran page over it (as previously proposed in a requested move; this would avoid the creation of an entirely new set index or disambiguation page, but @Scyrme has argued that it would also not be ideal because it would require readers who search for the existing title to scan through a longer, more vague list)

I am currently neutral on which of these should be implemented.

"War" is different from "conflict", and the Iran–United States war RfD happened in 2025, before the current war started, so I wouldn't want to tie that discussion to the current redirect. On the Iran–United States conflict RfD that I nominated, I wouldn't push for a WP:G4, as there was just one !vote, who went with the G5 aspect of the nomination, and not the other points. The part about recentism regarding the 2025 nuclear strikes is also outdated, considering the 2026 attacks. So I'm all for a fresh discussion on the points, which I'm duplicating below. Jay 💬 05:47, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
@Jay: I was not trying to tie that discussion to this redirect, but I had not known about it when nominating the Iran–United States war page at AfD. –Gluonz talk contribs 15:30, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
Don't retarget. I guess someone can draft a stub like Iran–Israel conflict (it keeps being WP:BLARed and reverted because of AI-generated content). It can be a dab or a set index list, but I don't recommend another one to exist, unless the SIA in case details more than just wars or strikes, which then comes back to the issue: it's better to have a WP:BCA, which there isn't. But I guess it's kinda redundant with the target page if you think about it. LIrala (talk) 05:34, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
"We do have a US-Iran proxy war which redirects to the Red Sea crisis which doesn't have a mention at the current target. Recentism though may cause readers to be interested in the United States strikes on Iranian nuclear sites that were retaliated with the 2025 Iranian strikes on Al Udeid Air Base."
My preference is to reverse Abesca's move, thereby deleting Iran–United States conflict, and nominate the earlier title Current international crisis with Iran in a fresh RfD (so it can be deleted too). Like the others, I'm not in favour of a new SIA, or retargeting to or moving over any existing SIAs. Jay 💬 05:47, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

Keep - The most recent and significant conflict between the US and Iran has been this last war, making a redirect to 2026 Iran war more than appropriate, as it currently stands. Most readers who stumble upon that page will likely have been looking for 2026 Iran war regardless, it's more than reasonable to keep the redirect. HarvardJock🏫 (talk) 21:58, 10 May 2026 (UTC)
