| In practice, our eligibility requirement is already nine days, if we take into account the seven day maximum plus two-day extensions, plus the occasional granting of an extra day depending on circumstances. This would simply codify existing practice. There has also been a desire among other editors to lengthen the requirements to allow more time to work on an article. This can especially be the case for 5x expansions, where expanding within seven days can be tricky.
Given this, should we extend our seven-day requirement to ten days instead? If we do, should we also keep the two-day extension (thus making it a de-facto 12-day requirement), or should we drop the extension since 10 days is reasonably long enough? Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Infoboxes
| Since 2013, ArbCom has asked the community to create a list of factors that editors could weigh when deciding whether to include or exclude an infobox in a given article.
Shall we add this proposed list of factors to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Infoboxes#Using infoboxes in articles (after the paragraph that begins The use of infoboxes is neither required nor prohibited for any article)? WhatamIdoing (talk) 21:55, 13 April 2026 (UTC) |
