I was in journalism for 41 years, the last 22 as a copy editor/page designer on the Night News Desk of a midsize newspaper in Florida. My family has 10 rescued pets (five dogs and five cats). I was a field Engineer for RCA Service Co. aboard the Instrumentation ship USAS American Mariner before and during Operation Dominic in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. I operated and maintained all ships computers and other devices feeding info to them. My service spanned from 1962 thru 1964.
I'm here by mistake although I was reading a Wiki page and was aware of some omissions in a 2000AD article and couldn't resist the urge to add the details. I am interested in comics, books, music, gaming and computing and will help where I'm able.

I love writing and editing, and have discovered the joy of updating Wikipedia, one of the best innovations in modern times—democracy at its best—even though a few fools, and worse, a number of manipulators, seem to be doing quite a bit of damage. That's why I appreciate this forum, where one can discuss important issues.
P.S. I love my cocker spaniel who has given me great joy, even though he is now suffering from a severe heart condition.
Was exposed to Wikipedia when doing research and found out about how one can contribute positively. Meddled around with previous accounts, but never quite gotten used to source editing. Too may commands, and basically just gave up. Until recently, when many developments around my local scene gave me the impetus to explore and contribute to Wiki. Elated that I can now edit with more confidence.

I'm a retired aerospace engineer looking for something meaningful to do. As an author, I have used Wikipedia many times and donated on occasion. Helping edit the wiki sounds like something meaningful to me.
Hi there! I created this account three years ago, made exactly three edits, and didn't start editing again until less than two months ago. But for about as long as Wikipedia's been around, I've been reading not just its articles but behind-the-curtain stuff like talk and policy pages with interest. So I'm an odd combination of veteran and total newb.
I've been focusing on improving Wikipedia's coverage of LGBT topics. The first major thing I've done here is insert myself into a thorny debate about how one pair of transgender creators should be credited in articles about their work. Which is a bit like starting up a videogame for the first time and wandering up to a high level boss without bothering with any of the low level enemies! For historic reference, I am the inventor of the Magnetic Eyeglass Holder since 1999. I received my US patent on 2001 ( patent #6,260,749 and my Canadian patent in 2002 (#2,22285,895).There have been those who copied or changed the look of my invention but the concept always stayed the same. That is, to have a product that holds to a clothing by way of a magnet while hanging your glasses for convenience.
Having searched for the invention of the Magnetic Eyeglass Holder there is mention of the product shown on Shark Tank. This product was made and show long after my invention.
Please set the record straight.
