Similar to Hamas history and Hamas Group. Unncessary template. Created by a banned user for sockpupptery but this is really article content on template space and violates Wikipedia:TG. If you want history of Hamas, you can view the articles. A template is not meant to carry this sort of information. It states Hamas biographies on the top of the sidebar and that already implies this is not a template for navigation but for details that go on an article. I noticed the Algebra page has no navbox at the top unlike the geometry or mathematics page so I though I should add one since the algebra page looked unfinished without one. If you could help me find a preexisting navbox for this purpose that would be excellent. I named my navbox General algebra by analogy to the navbox General geometry. I don't mind if there is a better option but the Algebra page deserves a navbox near the top just as much as the geometry page. Redfoxtaily (talk) 20:36, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

Maybe there is some terminology I haven't learned yet, but in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geometry there are nice boxes for Geometry and Mathematics series topics near the top of the page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebra does not have these boxes so that is what I was trying to add. Its seems like the algebra page deserves to have boxes like that near the top of its page just like the geometry page. I looked but could not find a algebra template equivalent to the General geometry template for algebra. Also, I don't get why you removed the Part of a series on Mathematics template link since that is standard practice to include it in major math articles. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see why these additions I made to the algebra page were wrong. Redfoxtaily (talk) 01:37, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
You are referring to sidebars. You should learn what these are before creating them. I did not remove anything. This is unused and not needed. The edit summary states why. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 01:41, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
Ok, good to know they are called sidebars. But is there a good reason for the Algebra page not to have sidebars? I could accept if you just think I must have a sidebar perfect before publishing one. @WikiCleanerMan: It's a valid question as to why the Algebra article doesn't have sidebars comparable to the Geometry article (and other mathematics articles). Perhaps you could give suggestions rather than just criticize/antagonize? BetsyRogers (talk) 10:15, 21 October 2025 (UTC)

Template:Disappeared date and age

Propose redirecting Template:Disappeared date and age to Template:Death date and age.
This template functions exactly as {{death date and age}} except that the later has been moved to Lua and has error checking for invalid params and dates that are not possible (age over 130). In fact in the documentation for this template it says Note: This template is based on, and has exactly the same syntax as {{Death date and age}}. I checked in Special:ExpandTemplates and the only difference between the two is that Death date and age adds a hidden span with a machine readable date. Conditional support, only if the instructions for how to correctly use the death template for people who disappeared are explicitly added to the documentation. @Thryduulf: can you clarify? There is no additional documentation that is needed. They function EXACTLY the same and produce the EXACT same output (except for the "See TFM" of course).

Template:Death date and age/doc currently makes absolutely no mention of how to use the template for someone who disappeared. If {{Disappeared date and age}} is just redirected to {{Death date and age}} someone who doesn't know that the two templates are the same under-the-hood will likely just be confused about where they've ended up where they have and/or have no idea how to get the template to produce what they want. @Thryduulf: that makes sense! We can ABSOLUTELY add a sentence to {{death date and age}} that says {{Disappeared date and age}} redirects here. They do the same thing and produce the same result so use this as you would use that. (That is TERRIBLE language, perhaps you have a suggestion for a better explanation?).   • Oppose I see why this is being done. I would agree with it on the basis that it is duplicated. But... I don't know, having a template called "death date and age" on the page of someone not declared dead and could still be alive feels wrong.     @Kire1975 and Jolielover: You guys simply aren't understanding... We are not getting rid of this template... The nomination specifically says Redirect. You would still be able to call {{Disappeared date and age}} on a page... It just won't have it's own code base to maintain.. It's like calling {{Infobox actor}}... You absolutely can do {{Infobox actor|name=Brad Pitt|...}}, but if you go to Template:Infobox actor it doesn't have its own code base, it is just a redirect to Template:Infobox person.     Thank you for saying something other than a personal attack to defend your position.
    The harm in changing it is that many disappeared people could be still alive and therefore it is a WP:BLP violation likely to be challenged again and again in the future per WP:BLPRS to say that they are dead when no reliable source can verify that they are.

    @Kire1975: You continue to not understand... YOU CAN STILL USE {{disappeared date and age}}... All I am saying is to use the module version via redirect. If you go to an article, you will still see {{disappeared date and age|1990|....}} in the code. IT WILL STILL WORK. This idea that we need to maintain a second version of the code just so that it doesn't offend anybody doesn't make any sense. I am not saying to delete this. Just use the same code. Update I have converted {{Disappeared date and age}} to use the module code so that they are now LITERALLY identical except for the word death vs disappeared. @Jolielover and Kire1975: Please review this comparison and see that this is ideal for a redirect. --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 00:01, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
