• Template:Evolution of Paramount Skydance (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

In general I dislike sidebars because they cause MOS:SANDWICH issues (basically makes it impossible to include images when sidebars are present; left-aligning them causes sandwiching).

This is especially egregious though; it is incredibly long and unfolded by default. It's also so incredibly detailed that it'd be better for its own list or something. I can't fathom where this level of detail and length would be useful and not a distraction/annoyance. grapesurgeon (talk) 13:23, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

Delete per precedent established at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2025 December 30#Template:Evolution of Warner Bros. Discovery). This is just unnecessary and excessive clutter that can best be summarized in prose, and is riddled with accessibility issues. I tend to just close such long sidebars and avoid them, and I find them to be unhelpful to our readers. — Trailblazer¹⁰¹🔥 ^{(discuss · contribs)} 03:04, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

• Delete. It seemed sensible at the time when I first created this template back in 2020, when the company was just "ViacomCBS" and it only needed about eight entries. What I did not expect was that the company would continue to grow larger and eventually become Paramount Skydance with subsequent mergers and acquisitions. And editors would thus continue to add more and more content to the list that it would be more appropriate for it to be instead rendered into one of the styles listed on WP:TIMELINE.
