This poorly designed sidebar is hiding as a subpage of a navbox. If it is to be kept (which I don't think it should) it should be renamed and not be a subpage of a completely different template. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 22:25, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. I don't think conversion to a navbox like Template:California wildfires is necessary as it's too broad and already covered by Template:2023 wildfires. Maybe include the other seasons in see also, but I think the seasons that are relevant to articles the templates are in are covered by the infobox "season_year" and "season_name" parameters. 🌀Hurricane Wind and Fire, why'd you decline my draft? Template:2024 New Zealand Olympic team
Per WP:NAVBOX: Navigation templates are particularly useful for a small, well-defined group of articles
. It also states: Good navboxes generally follow these guidelines: ... If not for the navigation template, an editor would be inclined to link many of these articles in the See also sections of the articles.
This navbox contains links to nearly 200 members of New Zealand's 2024 Olympic team, which is certainly not a small set of articles. There is not a strong connection between all these topics besides making the Olympics in their sport for the same year. For a single sport there is a stronger connection between participants, especially in team sports, but just including a link for every member of the Olympic team in all sports is overkill (WP:TCREEP and WP:NENAN). The entire Olympic delegation can already be found at New Zealand at the 2024 Summer Olympics. This is also akin to WP:PERFNAV by grouping together people by performance, which should be avoided. Per past discussions (for example here and here, and TFDs here, here and here), there is a consensus to not have seasonal/championship-winning squad templates outside international football, as there are too many competitions for this to be viable. The squad information is already available at 2025 Vancouver Rise FC season, so no information is lost. S.A. Julio (talk) 17:54, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
