per prior discussions: "WP:ICONDECORATION, WP:TRIVIA. Assists are not typically notable enough to include in summaries, and even if they were it wouldn't be in the form of a football boot-shaped smudge." Frietjes (talk) 16:08, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi Frietjes,
We have watched just now Olympics Ice-Hockey final. USA vs Canada. Points (Goals plus Assists ) are more important there than
goals alone. See section Scoring Leaders at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_hockey_at_the_2026_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men%27s_tournament
Similar assistance importance is in Basketball and NBA.
Football does not include assists at Wikipedia and I agree, they are not notable.
However, futsal as indoor game, is more similar to ice-hockey, floorball, basketball than football in the statistics meaning.
The assist could be the key in the futsal due to small space.

Vaclav data, futsal is a different sport from ice hockey. a better example would be from futsal! see 2024 OFC Men's Nations Cup UEFA Futsal Euro 2026, for example. Frietjes (talk) 20:52, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Your link is football, not futsal.
Futsal is 4+1 , ice hockey 5+1. Compressed space make it difficult to score goals using dribling compared to football.
Most of goals in futsal is made via pass and mostly often via one-timer, one touch of scoring player, what makes assist maybe more important than goal itself. By the way ice-hockey also seriously count second assist, what I dom't do.
Generally ice-hockey, floorball and futsal put importance for assists. Interestingly handball not, as there preparing combination where 4-5 players are involved.
My adding assits is based on science, not on my interest Vaclav data (talk) 21:10, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Vaclav data, corrected the example above. Frietjes (talk) 22:22, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Exactly, you are right with UEFA futsal Euro. However I would distinguish
A - If I change template which is commonly used , like GoalFs, I tough general Wiki standard and it can affect other events
B - I add AssistFs to be freely use. I do not say, it is standard. It also depends on data collectors of sport events,
who are not considered to collect such data, but why not ? If some editor do not want to use, just can ignore it Vaclav data (talk) 22:34, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Generally, people making sport pages from major events (Futsal Euro 2026), (OFC Futsal Nations Cup 2025) use public data
to create such pages. They do not see GOALS personally and they use online newspapers and sport association data to publish it. But because online news servers and sport association do not collect assist data , wiki creators ignores it.
In some cases, like ice hockey, news publishers and sport association (NHL for example) publish assistance and ASSISTS ARE THEN ON WIKI. IN some cases, assists are published by association (NBA), but not often mentioned by Wiki.
So what I did is , that I MADE MY OWN CONTRIBUTION. I HAVE ANALYSE VIDEO OF GAMES TO COLLECT ASSIST DATA.
I DID OWN WORK. WHICH should be done by Wiki creator, not just be paid, or junion staff making Wiki data as time spending.
So I think I am HOLDER OR WIKI PHILOSOPHY and Frietjes is (in the case of template:AssistFs) supporting Media and PR teams.

This template should be deleted since there will be no by-election as the MP has decided not to resign from parliament. The associated article has been deleted - see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2026 Edmonton Riverbend federal by-election, therefore this template is an orphan and there is no prospect of it ever being needed. Template:Nintendo Switch 2

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more templates or modules. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review).

The result of the discussion was merge to Template:Nintendo Switch. Izno (talk) 18:56, 4 March 2026 (UTC)

Looking at this template, this is well enough just a copied and pasted template from the Template:Nintendo Switch when comparing the two. The only notable articles that are primarily dedicated to the Nintendo Switch 2 is the Games row, and one article (GameChat), leaving only 4 substansial articles total. Necessarily, I would prefer that we merge the two templates (both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 templates) into one titled Nintendo Switch & Switch 2, since this is quite useless, (also per WP:NAVBOX). ConeKota (talk) 15:00, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

  • Merge to reduce maintenance. The limited number of unique links can easily fit in the Nintendo Switch template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:23, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep. The Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 infoboxes are distinct as the Switch 1 has sections, such as about emulators, Mig Flash, and the Poke Ball Plus, that do not necessarily relate to the Switch 2, which might confuse readers. Plus, the Switch 2 templates also have targets for the Joy Con 2 and the Switch 2 Pro Controller information. EvanTech10 (talk) 00:07, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Comment: Your argument is baseless as both the Joy Con 2 and Switch 2 Pro Controller redirects lead to the original articles that discuss about both Joy Con 1 and 2 and so for the Switch 1 Pro and 2 Pro. are distinct as the Switch 1 has sections, such as about emulators, Mig Flash, and the Poke Ball Plus, that do not necessarily relate to the Switch 2, which might confuse readers Certain articles you bring up such as Mig Flash and Poke Ball Plus (see here), again, are not strictly for the original Switch 1 as they are both compatible with both consoles and even mention both consoles in the articles linked! I believe the merged templates will not confuse readers if you simply divide it into two rows for articles that are strictly for both consoles, and one other section about services or hardware that are compatible with both consoles. ConeKota (talk) 15:33, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Comment and leaning merge. Before looking at the templates, I was sure I was going to vote keep as these are two different consoles that just happen to use the same base name. However, it would seem there are only 3 unique Switch 2 links. Until such a time that we have more unique links, we don't need duplicate templates. Gonnym (talk) 08:54, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

An arbirtary collection of articles where Samantha Smith is mentioned: Anatoly DobryninJohnny CarsonKatya LychevaTed KoppelRobert John BardoYuri Andropov, and so on. We do not do such personal navboxen. The creator, The Chronicler of Chroniclers (talk · contribs) chose not to discuss notices posted in their talk page. --Altenmann >talk 06:26, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete - The topics in the box are not closely related, and would even be dubious in a "see also" section. This template is just pointless clutter. -- Whpq (talk) 14:30, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete. The pages that it is included in either do not mention Samantha Smith (e.g. Anatoly Dobrynin) or mention her in a single bullet or sentence (Katya Lycheva, Amity, Maine). Only Bar Harbor Airlines Flight 1808 mentions Smith in more than one sentence, but that does not merit a sidebar template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:28, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Maybe improve it instead of removing it? I created the template, so I know what to do. The Chronicler of Chroniclers (talk) 08:50, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
I think this template could be improved by trimming links to only those where the topic is central. Would others be open to refining it instead of deleting? The Chronicler of Chroniclers (talk) 08:51, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
I see that some links may be arbitrary or picked a bit randomly. We could restrict the template to articles where the topic itself is a major theme, not just a passing mention or a simple link. If you want, I'll fix it! If you don't want to, maybe you can merge it with an existing template? The Chronicler of Chroniclers (talk) 08:54, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
There are probably only two or three articles that have more than one sentence about Samantha Smith. If that is the case, a sidebar is not appropriate. If I am wrong and there are more articles to connect, you are welcome to edit the template while this TFD is in progress. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:16, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
  • delete, no sidebar needed here. Frietjes (talk) 16:12, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
