• Strong opposed I'm not convinced the nominator realizes the functionality difference between these two. One is a static template the other one allows editors a multitude of parameter to specific topics, thus allowing an automated template to reproduce links. See Template:About continent and region topic templates for basics on how things function for auto-generated templates vs Template:United States topics that is a completely unrelated non-dynamic static template.
