Only links two articles. WP:NENAN. --woodensuperman 10:46, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Since it’s a relatively new prize, there are only four winners, two of the links are red. Yamato2 (talk) 17:45, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Keep: The winners are notable, even if their articles have not been created yet. The prize is likely to continue and its list will grow in future years, meaning that the template would need to be created again in the future. Michelangelo1992 (talk) 12:41, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
That's fine to recreate it when enough articles have been written to warrant a navigation template. WP:NENAN recommends five. --woodensuperman 12:58, 23 March 2026 (UTC)

Because it doesn't navigate between anything, and this is a navigation template. That's the entire purpose of it, so it has zero fuinctionality. It does not facilitate navigation in any way. --woodensuperman 10:14, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

Recently created template that duplicates Template:Infobox Italian comune. No reason to have a 2 version. This is what the sandbox of a template is for. Note that the creator of this Infobox has a failed edit request to implement this broken code. This is not the way to go about this. Keep: V1 use a manual data or wikidata. V2 adding automatic "actual" statistic (area size, populatiom) from dataset. Delete. I would suggest User:Dušan Kreheľ follow the advice given at Template talk:Infobox Italian comune#Edit request 18 March 2026 to work in the sandbox and make a test case table for the proposed feature. Yes, the template sandbox will not have a linked Wikidata item that will allow the template to work. But, as a temporary measure, you can specify a sample entity_id in your transclusion of Template:Wikidata, or make it a parameter you can use in your call to the sandbox template, to show how the sandbox template will work, and then remove it when it is time to implement it. Then you can demonstrate the sandbox template works as designed. --Bsherr (talk) 03:46, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more templates or modules. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review).

The result of the discussion was delete. Only arguments to keep amount to WP:OTHERSTUFF plain and simple. (non-admin closure) Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 02:36, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Another linkspam sidebar... Per WP:SIDEBAR, this is far from a group of articles with a single, coherent subject. It will never be fully transcluded and is useless for navigation, serving instead as decoration. Let's not take away so much space from images and real educational content. MediaKyle (talk) 11:03, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete Weak delete per nom. (If anyone thinks the content should be kept, then they can convert it into a footer template.) Feline Hymnic (talk) 12:24, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
Downgrading my previous "delete". That had been based on the excessive amount of screen real-estate it had been swallowing and its consequent over-dominance of the main subject matter. Since then, the change by Wikieditor662 (to whom thanks!) has largely addressed that aspect. Feline Hymnic (talk) 22:15, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Strong Keep this is far from a group of articles with a single, coherent subject. this is simply incorrect. Abraham is the main subject, and every other article on there is related to him. These are a group of articles that all center around the main page and help guide readers towards other similar and related pages and understand the topic better. There's no reason for this to be deleted.
Also, sidebars just like this are used in multiple WP:FA articles, such as Jesus and Genghis Khan. Wikieditor662 (talk) 16:56, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
PS I just collapsed the list, so it should be much shorter now. Wikieditor662 (talk) 17:13, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
Being vaguely related is not enough for inclusion in a sidebar... The Genghis Khan sidebar is actually not too bad, as it's constrained to articles such as Wives of Genghis Khan and Burial place of Genghis Khan... Such articles don't exist for Abraham. Instead, this sidebar includes everything under the sun, like Ancient Egypt. This is not useful for navigation and takes away space from educational materials. See also WP:BIDIRECTIONAL -- this sidebar doesn't belong on most of these articles, so most of these articles shouldn't be on the sidebar. We really just don't need any more of these. MediaKyle (talk) 17:19, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
But WP:ATD says If editing can address all relevant reasons for deletion, this should be done rather than deleting the page. So if removing certain articles you don't think fit could be an alternative, shouldn't that be done instead? Wikieditor662 (talk) 23:13, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
I don't think that is an alternative. If you removed all of the articles that don't belong, you'd have nothing left. This is not useful to our readers and should be deleted. MediaKyle (talk) 23:33, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
Second update: I've removed some lesser significant/relevant articles. Let me know if you want me to remove even more, I can do that.
But there are definitely articles that are very much related to Abraham and are about him. In fact, I'd say he has just as many (if not more!) relevant articles to him than Genghis Khan. For example Abraham's family tree, Abraham and Lot's conflict, Abraham and the Idol Shop, and many others. Wikieditor662 (talk) 23:47, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep as long as the consensus is in favor of having sidebars I think this is a perfectly fine topic for one. We should not try to pick away at individual sidebars if the problem is with sidebars in general. I've gotten far more critical of sidebars in general however and think that a discussion whether to tighten up the guidelines for sidebars might be warranted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trialpears (talk • contribs) 12:26, 26 March 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete this is poorly suited to a sidebar. Due to the nature of the Bible this has turned out to be a massively duplicative rehash of our dozens of other Biblical sidebars with almost no content unique to the claimed subject. I agree that we should tighten our guidelines for them - but that doesn't mean we shouldn't do anything about them now. PARAKANYAA (talk) 18:39, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
[A]lmost no content unique to the claimed subject is inaccurate here. We have a few vague links here like God in Abrahamic religions and Bible for sure and I would support removal (only reason I'm not doing it right now is due to this ongoing discussion), but the majority is stuff with direct connections to the subject like his direct family, stories he's featured in, things named after him, articles about his islamic interpretation and books claimed to be written by him. Trialpears (talk) 19:49, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
Yes, those are all generic biblical topics because Abraham is connected to nearly all significant things in the bible. There is nothing this serves that the generic biblical navigation and the article doesn't. PARAKANYAA (talk) 20:03, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
Gotcha, Abraham's family tree, Cave of the Patriarchs (his supposed burial site), Abraham and Lot's conflict, Bosom of Abraham and Book of Abraham are all genric biblical topic with no special connection. Trialpears (talk) 20:12, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
Yes. The whole story of the Bible is the story of Abraham and his descendants. There is no need for a separate sidebar template that takes up this much space. PARAKANYAA (talk) 20:16, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
There is nothing this serves that the generic biblical navigation and the article doesn't. Under what criteria is this defined as generic? The fact that he's a biblical figure doesn't alone discard the use of a sidebar. Wikieditor662 (talk) 21:14, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
  • Keep. The merits of this sidebar seem indistinguishable from those of Template:Moses. --Bsherr (talk) 03:11, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Humor pages should not interfere with the rest of the wiki procedures, yet User:Hex is intentionally doing so. They've reverted adding the /doc page here causing the /doc page to be unused and orphaned, and reverted deleting the /doc page here which what happens per T5. Either the /doc page is needed and should be restored, or it is not needed. Gonnym (talk) 13:36, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

This page documents an English Wikipedia project content guideline. Editors should generally follow it, though exceptions may apply.

The determination of when exceptions are applicable is based upon an understanding of the common English words guideline and should, accompanied by common sense. For guidance on the latter topic please consult WP:UCS.  — Hex • talk 13:24, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

Comment: I'm looking at the usage as 2007–08 Sheffield Shield season and I don't see any space issues where "Home team" can't be written fully. Why do we need an ambiguous abbreviation here? UCI Women's team navigational boxes

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more templates or modules. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review).

The result of the discussion was delete the ones in the red rows in the table, and keep the rest. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:46, 4 April 2026 (UTC)

These templates seem to be poorly maintained. Whenever a rider changes teams, this template would need to be replaced on their page. Whenever a team's riders changes, the template itself would need to be changed. The conventional practice now appears to be to use the proyears and proteam parameters in the {{Infobox cyclist}} template. Kiwipete (talk) 21:31, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Comment: The first sentence sums up the templates realistically; but in reference to the remainder of the above, the situation is no different from a football player, rugby player or American football player moving teams e.g. Antoine Semenyo moving from AFC Bournemouth to Manchester City in January 2026 (Change of team template), Tomos Williams moving from Cardiff Rugby to Gloucester Rugby in summer 2024 (noting here that the Change of team template was not updated until the following summer) or Geno Smith being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets a couple of weeks ago (Change of franchise template) – all of which have the relevant sport infobox on their individual pages with the requisite team years.
There are templates listed that ideally can be deleted, specifically the teams that no longer exist – such as {{Arkéa–B&B Hotels Women riders}}, {{Ceratizit Pro Cycling riders}} and {{Team Rupelcleaning–Champion Lubricants riders}} to name three. It would appear strange, and incorrect, to delete all the women's team templates, when 50 other templates exist for men's teams within Category:UCI WorldTeam riders navigational boxes, Category:UCI Professional Continental team riders navigational boxes and Category:Cycling team riders navigational boxes, and is hopefully not a bias. {{Team Coop–Repsol riders}} was previously nominated on 30 January (closed as no consensus on 20 February) and {{Team Illuminate riders}} was previously nominated on 22 February (closed as keep on 14 March). Craig(talk) 21:27, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi @Craig, many thanks for your comment. I'd re-emphasise the first sentence :) I'm not concerned at all with other sports. As to your question - is there any bias? Yes, but only to the extent that I'm focusing on women's cyclists/cyclist teams. I hadn't checked, but could have guessed that there were equivalent templates for male cyclists. Kiwipete (talk) 03:04, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
  • weak keep, we should definitely delete the ones for defunct teams, but many of these do provide useful navigation. Unrelated, it's not appropriate to tag this as a merge discussion when deletion is what is being proposed. however, if the focus is only on deleting templates for the women's teams, it would be better to focus on improving the women's templates instead of deleting only the women's navboxes. I would be happy to update all of these, assuming this discussion doesn't end with deletion. Frietjes (talk) 14:28, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
@Frietjes: I went through and updated the existing templates for the UCI Women's WorldTeams and UCI Women's ProTeams for a total of 17 – these being AG Insurance–Soudal, Canyon–SRAM (now Canyon–SRAM Zondacrypto), EF Education–Oatly, FDJ–Suez (now FDJ United–Suez), Fenix–Deceuninck (now Fenix–Premier Tech), Human Powered Health, Lidl–Trek, Liv AlUla Jayco, Lotto–Soudal Ladies (now Lotto–Intermarché Ladies), Movistar Team, Parkhotel Valkenburg (now VolkerWessels), Team Picnic–PostNL, SD Worx (now SD Worx–Protime), Visma–Lease a Bike, UAE Team ADQ, Uno-X and Winspace Orange Seal (now Mayenne–Monbana–Mypie). That leaves 39 from the original 56, which are as follows:
More information Status, No. ...
Status No. Teams

In my opinion, the bottom two options in the above table would be suitable for deletion (in theory, the ones I've previously created would probably make WP:G7 apply here) – leaving, at this stage, 28 out of 56. Craig(talk) 00:18, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
User:Cs-wolves, that's awesome. yes, I agree with you, delete the ones in the last two rows of your table, but keep the navboxes for the 11 active teams with a UCI licence. Frietjes (talk) 15:46, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
