Elliot Rodger

The article failed GAN after a lengthy two month that required a whole rewrite of the article. After all of the rewrites, the user who reviewed it then said that the article had "insurmountable issue[s] when it comes to neutrality and following WP:SS". The user stated it "would benefit from having much of the details of Rodger's upbringing placed into summary style. As it stands, the article delves too deeply into Rodger's details written in his manifesto" and "a vast proportion of the article is essentially Elliot Rodger's point of view, as written by him in his so-called "manifesto", with innumerable sources describing it, quoting from it, and analyzing it. Normally, this would trigger neutrality issues, as there is very little presented here to counter Rodger's dramaturgical pathos. As these passages have been reported on by RS's, a modicum of their inclusion ought to be permitted. That modicum could be attained if those mentions were efficiently summarized instead of described in great detail. By describing Elliot's POV in great detail with very little opposition described, the article appears to tilt in his favor (unintentionally)". I would like to renominate the article in the future but this editor stated the article doesn't meet WP:SS and WP:N. I would like if it followed that way. I don't think that the major issues with your article are going to be helped by a copy edit. I have read through much of the article and made several changes, but found what is there generally well expressed. To edit out the wealth of detail that it suffers from would take more than a usual copy editing, which should focus on spelling, diction, phrasing, coherence, and removing obvious redundancies. It would not be easy to summarize the various fits of jealousy and thrown soft drinks, without feeling that something critical is being taken out. Dhtwiki (talk) 06:09, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

The subject is interesting and notable, but the current presentation is verbose, including collateral biographic/historic information on numerous colleagues and related enterprises and investments.
