The article news section this month includes two new A-class articles. As of the time of writing, there have been no A-class articles promoted in August despite eleven nominations being open. We would encourage more people to review these articles. More encouragingly, six articles and a photo were promoted to featured status in July.
Hawkeye7 has contributed four reviews to this month's book review section. These cover books on Roman Emperor Constantine the Great, the logistics for the New Model Army, the western way of war and the 1944 Battle of Guam. Hawkeye also contributed the regular this month in military history article, which of course includes the final elements of the Allied victory in World War II which we have recently marked the 80th anniversary of.
The project's Coordinator Elections will be held in September. All members of the project are encouraged to participate either by nominating a position or voting. The project has two academy essays that may be of interest: becoming a coordinator and advice from former coordinators. Please feel free to ask questions of the current coordinators as well.

The July 2025 edition of the contest department's article writing-and-improvement contest saw Sturmvogel_66 take the top spot with 51 points from 10 articles. He claims the Wikichevrons as his prize. Gog the Mild finished second with 41 points from 3 articles, 2 brought to FA class and 1 started at GA class. He was awarded the Writer's Barnstar.
Other entries in July were submitted by new contestant CosXZ, who brought 1 article to GA class, Djmaschek, Hog Farm, who brought 1 article to FA class, and Zawed.
Monthly totals are applied to the overall 2025 Writers Cup, which will be decided at the end of the year.
The August edition of the contest is now open. Please consider submitting your current article projects as entries into this friendly competition.
